check the druid discord for more updates on everything with that but the short answer is no you'll use a different 735 haste cap build for earlier tiers.
Never ran the numbers minus the leather chest from the vendor. Not sure what that would be in all honesty since you could mix in more cloth items but anything that has high haste I would assume is worth it
why using glowing twilight scale?, reju and wild growth doesn't proc the trinket active, i think it is a waste of time casting nourish or regrowth for proc it when you can be spamming more reju, i used to macro the scale with tranquility but it still doesn't convence me (MY ENGLISH SUCKS)
you are not taking it for that. you are taking it for the spell power. and it does come in handy with heroism out or even for a quick nourish spam although i would recommend keeping wild growth up every time its on cd. with tranquility i let tranq hit all 5 party members once then i instantly swap off to nourish/regrowth spam no sense to keep procing it with tranq unless that party you are in is taking massive damage. but yes it sucks for us more so than any class but it offers the most spell power which is what we are after. I mean you could swap out for a solace but MP5 with us is crap and if u oom its lol anyways. There is no other trinket that even comes close.
@@Redemptionproject09 yea, most of druids in my server use for the amount of sp it gives you i guess, i think the scale its a good option only if you are in a caster's group so you can proc it if they take too much damage, in my server valanyr's quest it's broken so resto druids use trauma hc as a bis.
Can i ask, maybe its in the video and i missed it, how do you use GTS-does it proc off reju/regrowth etc, if not how to properly use it, i dont think going for examle trink plus spam nourish is good... Thanks in advance and great guides, they helped me a lot for improving my heal game
Gts only procs from direct heals. So regrowth, tranquility, nourish, ect. Not from hots. You'll want to time it up with hero for the most part and make sure you keep hitting wild growth every 6 seconds as well during it's proc.
Glyph of rapid rejuv is 12 seconds, in heroism it's like 8 seconds based on your haste at 856. I think I might be changing from rapid to regular. This is a great guide, I've recommended it to my guildies. I wouldn't change a single thing about this guide tbh.
so back in the day i played resto in raids, i was in a very good guild. i recall spamming lifebloom A LOT and not running OOM and i was topping healing meters. of course my memory is a bit fuzzy but i def. remember using lifebloom a lot. in your video you say lifebloom should not be used much? strange.
That was probably the burning crusade. Not wrath. Lifebloom was a thing then it's not in wrath. Also you could be thinking early tiers and not end game which is what classic wrath will launch at and what this guide is built around
@@Redemptionproject09 maybe it was earlier tiers, not heroic LK for sure! its been so long tho... i forgot that there isnt even "healing" on gear any longer lol
@@Redemptionproject09 Thanks for the reply. I am actually levelling as feral but thought it was possible to still heal low level dungeons with regrowth and healing touch. Is it possible to do this?
Great video. Right now preparing myself for WOTLK Classic release so this helps me a lot. I have a question though not sure if after all this time you posted the vid you will see this but I'll give it a try: Why not engeneering or alchemy as second professions? All of the guides pick JC but then they differ in the second one. Some say get engineering for the gloves enchant, others alchemy for the trinket and you and others say Enchanting for the ring enchant. Could you enlight me a bit? In my opinion alchemy trinket is not that worth for the entire expansion but still have my doubts between engineering and enchanting. Why you picked enchanting over engineering? As you said we should prioritize haste before SP, but we can reach haste cap but at the same time if you have more haste you can pick other gear with more SP and less haste, that is my doubt. Thank you!
i have a breakdown of each one in the druid discord on why each profession is best discord.gg/NyNrZe7hDk in the pinned comments i say to use tailor and JC as they are the best. I just mentioned you should use non gathering specs in the video and gave two examples as they offer better stats vs gathering professions. Its something that my new guide will cover and it will go over every tier of gear as well.
What professions should I use for my resto druid leveling? should I use tailoring because the early level gears for healer druids are mostly cloth? or should I go enchanting and jewel crafting at an early level?
anything thats not gathering is generally considered good but if you are looking for the best then youll take JC and Tailor. The tailor proc with hots allows us to keep the bonus on those hots once the proc is over which effectively shortens the CD. JC provides the most straight up static spell power
Great question. Shamans have no real haste cap so to speak only lesser cap 1269. Me and suxus have been running the numbers on that and from what he has calculated out it's pointless to go beyond that. While I would argue there is a point to it on aoe fights where you are literally spamming ch 98% of the time beyond pp bql I don't think there are any benefits in it.
@@maximilianodriscoll8326 ill never go for socket bonuses but i dont think its spell power that i would go and stack for either i think crit rating would almost be more valuable. shamans hit hard as it is with full haste gems in every socket its something we are working on calculating out currently for right now maybe a mix of sp and crit
@@maximilianodriscoll8326 it's on the list to do. Unfortunately that list keeps growing so I'm trying to handle priority things first. Guides take a long time so it's pushed a little farther down the list as of now.
For leveling in rdf on lordaeron I find myself debating between int, spirit and spell power on gear. I know it doesn't really matter since I'm in my 40s and nowhere near endgame but I was wondering if you could shine some light as to what to prioritize.
For me when i leveled as a resto druid. I prio spell power and int. Spell Power is our second best stat. And due to the low spell power leather gear before 40 i preferred int. An edit that i forgot to add. I used healing touch before swiftmend. Without spell power your hots do not heal for nearly as much
The proc pushes your spell power higher and since it is up almost all the time when not on CD it is better. Having enchanting is more static and is less spell power but you'll have it all the time and on no CD.
Hello funky I have a question about head and chest. If you use the head of Doom chicken (T10)and the chest of the resto(t10) you have the following stats (normal gear, not Hero): sp 333, crit 192, Haste 92. And when you use the resto head(T10) and the blood prince chest (25n) you have the following stats (also in normal not in Hero) sp 324, crit 92, Haste 84. In conclusion you have more stats with the first option, what do you think about that ?
I think this is the same discussion I had a few months back with another person as well. Anything with higher stats as in spell power haste as a priority is a win. I'd have to log on and compare though to confirm that exact example but yes I would recommend anything with higher stats as you gear.
@@robles9605 so with the 15% conversion of spirit into sp it's really losing spell power to swap and only gaining 6 haste it's also a loss in critical and Mana Regen. Unless you already did the spirit conversion. It really comes down where you are on haste at the point since the only thing you gain is 6 haste. Unless you are under cap or close to the 856 haste cap spec I would say it's not worth it then.
I am new to healing in general, and currently i am running some RDfs with my 74 resto dudu. However i have a question regarding raid healing: As a healer, am i supposed to keep an eye on 24 memebrs besides me and heal who is low/damaged or i should focus on some specific 1-2 group(s)? I am asking this question because let's say some dps took damage and dropped to 40%, so obviously (which happens to me when i play dps) i get heal from many memebrs not only one. Isn't this a waste of gcd/heals???? How healers organise this?
Playing resto druid is really about anticipating upcoming damage and pre hotting accordingly. I wouldent say it's a waste. You'll want to top players off no matter what as at any moment something bad could happen as in they pull agro or get hit with a boss ability that could kill them if they are at low health. Healer organization really depends on your raid and what your healers have probably discussed prior or even after a wipe that you could focus better on. For example, I know in retail at least the first mark from saurfang was always assigned to the paladin, the next was the rest shamans to heal, and the third was mine as a resto druid.
i play it but its not something i have full in depth knowledge about i know the forum guides for it are hot garbage and me and suxus are going over some of the things to do with it so maybe in the future i will come out with this guide
Awersome vid mate, could i ask you a few questions pal?, first. im between Bis, and pre-bis, my guild can't do RS25HC, so i have the great cloak, But i was able to get the 271 Versions of the BoFN (braces of firey 25mn) and i have the 264 Ring Memory of Mal 25mn, so my question is, im sat at 830 Haste(using Val Mace, haven't had LK's mace drop yet, and i dont have the PSB boots to swap for extra haste), i could gem another +12SP and +10 Haste gem, on the ring to get to 840, And then maybe and +12SP + 10 Haste on the braces, without losing the socket bonus, but them im going to lose like what +23SP overall, but i would be sat at 850. What would you recommend mate, or would it make such a massive difference?. And then secondly, how does +SP effect things like Rejuvie and Regrowth etc.. i know it boosts it, but is there like a maths behind it, i know it wont be one to one, or im guessing it isnt.
youll see a difference in longer fights and fights where it is important to have every GCD possible. if you are close i would say try to gem for the haste cap for sure. losing that little bit of spell power to get more heals casted is worth it.
Great guide, Funky! Whem should I change my spec from 735 haste cap to 856 haste cap? I can hit the 856 haste cap with my current gear, but i will lose a lot of spellpower gemming for haste (using reckless ametrine).
I personally wouldn't give up a lot I mean the real benefits of the 856 spec come at direct healing healing fight like lk dbs vdw. If you are still working on getting to lk or you are doing well on lk without going to the 856 spec I wouldent swap until you get more gear. There is no true cut off point where it becomes better has more to do with the fights I would personally wait till I'm about 50-60 away.
@viniciusPatto this guide was never intended for leveling. End game only. The issue with leveling is no one levels as a resto or they shouldn't be at least and you replace stuff so fast that it's not even worth the time, effort, or gold to put a glyph in that you'll hardly ever use even when leveling
@@Redemptionproject09 i was joking, but i had the experience of finding that glyph on a guild bank as soon as i hit level for it. I was memeing so i went resto until 22, was pretty fun, not having pushback, healing fast, furor so i could stop casting after healing, it didn't last long because i switch deep feral but was nice for a change xD
ive been retired for 2 years. wife, kid, job, house. im closer to 40 than 30. if i had none of that and tons of money to pay bills sure. I would do something casual maybe but i dont even have time to level. it was a good run for 10+ years but everything good must come to an end.
Hey Funky, Thanks for the updated guide. Whats your opinion about Trauma vs LK Mace if I don't have access to Valanyr? In my experience Trauma is almost always better because as you said ICC is mostly AoE fights but the LK Mace can be better on for example DBS or Gunship. Do you agree with that? I know when using Trauma vs the LK Mace you have to gear a bit differently using Plague Scientist's Boots to have the missing haste. Is that worth it in your opinion? My second question is about the Rapid Rejuv glyph. (Sorry about the long text.) I completely agree with you when we're talking about pugs or raids where the other healers not that great. However I think its a bit more complicated when you raid with your guild or skilled BiS people. I'm talking about full buff 25HC raids, I don't have experience with 0 buff. When the healers are good I feel like there is no need for 4 healers. Everyone is full hp almost all the time due to the disc priest shields and when some1 looses health the shaman quickly solves that. My point is that if you don't use this glyph, your rejuvenations are going to end up as overheals because the other healers can react faster than your slowly ticking rejuv. When some1 loses their priest shield and gets some damage, the slowly ticking rejuv can tick on them maybe once before they're full hp again and have the next shield. I understand you can't HoT up that much people when using this glyph but I think you don't have to since the disc priest is going to have his shield on at least 15 of them. Sometimes we even discuss with the disc priest before the raid that he's going to focus on group 3,4,5, and I focus on group 1,2. Ofc this is very flexible, we help each others group too. What this means is that the priest is going to start his shielding on the people in group 3,4,5 and prioritize them, and I'm going to start blanketing the raid on group 1,2. And usually I don't blanket a lot more people than 10 at the same time because the others have shield or going to have shield soon and that rejuv would be a waste. I think in this case this glyph is very good. Unfortunately I can't provide you any logs about this because they're deleted by now but I noticed an increase in my healing when looking at the meters. I know the meters are not everything but how else can you measure your performance. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks
agree on the maces part. i would swap between LK mace and trauma depending on the fight. as far as rapid rejuv goes its ok on some bosses and great for 10m content. beyond that its really not helping the raid as a whole nor does it fit with what we do best. if you take it you are hurting your healing overheal and maximizing direct healing. again great for fights like dbs and such but far less effective in keeping the raid up which is what we do best. your disc priest shields however will break before he can refresh due to weakened soul and that player may start taking damage slowly or at a higher rate depending on the fight and the rng. in this case when it comes to rejuv quantity >quality either way it hampers your ability to effectively cover the raid and blanket vs not having it. with no raid buffs at 856 haste cap its at 13 seconds vs with full haste buffs its even lower around 10-11 when hero gets thrown its even lower yet. its effectively cutting down on half the rejuvs you can have out and rolling thus hurting your healing. damage is rng and thus more heals out=more healing done. again it has its place for sure but not in most fights. if you want a more in depth explanation for it i can link you the EJ forums where that discussion took place and they go into it in depth like crazy. also on that note the EJ guides while outdated in some aspects such as gems/enchants and having no bis list still has good math that can be used to properly calculate numbers out effectively.
edit/quick update- can confirm with haste totem only its at 10 and with hero and totem its at 9. either way not good. thats a lot less targets being covered. in fact nearly half the targets you would normally be able to cover.
Shame i thought since it's for wotlk classic it wouldn't be made for icc but like all the other guides for resto druid in wotlk they only look at icc xD
First I can care less if people sub or not. Second hardly anyone watches at the end. Third there is a reason why almost every RUclipsr puts all their advertising or talking about subs at the start vs the end.
Well considering OOC procs less in beta testing you'll be using it a lot more now in classic. Also I never advocated for it unless it's heavy tank damage with movement or you struggle with mana management
Lifebloom is extremely important. Healing ticks, massive heal when it blooms and mana restoration. Especially when you cast innervate, life bloom can help you prevent wasting mana and also restore it when you're lower. It also procs other skills, you should always be using it, it's just foolish not to. In WOTLK classic, they changed innervate to restore based off your mana pool instead of spirit which is a huge buff.
Note: The Bis list is for the exact 856 haste cap at end game. There is another gear set up that will give you 5 more spell power and about .35% more crit but youll be over haste as well(see discord channel for that gear). 2 minor mistakes: lifebloom does not proc living seed. regrowth, healing touch, nourish and swiftmend do. also on the chest gem comparison it should be 58 spell power+10 haste+ 10 spirit not +57 spell power +10 haste +10 spirit. Noob question: Why is the best gear not the T10 gear you get with frost emblems? its also 264/277 item level.
Never ran the numbers minus the leather chest from the vendor. Not sure what that would be in all honesty since you could mix in more cloth items but anything that has high haste I would assume is worth it
@@Redemptionproject09 I guess I thought of gear progression more linearly. I think I understand what you mean now. Thanks!
why using glowing twilight scale?, reju and wild growth doesn't proc the trinket active, i think it is a waste of time casting nourish or regrowth for proc it when you can be spamming more reju, i used to macro the scale with tranquility but it still doesn't convence me (MY ENGLISH SUCKS)
you are not taking it for that. you are taking it for the spell power. and it does come in handy with heroism out or even for a quick nourish spam although i would recommend keeping wild growth up every time its on cd. with tranquility i let tranq hit all 5 party members once then i instantly swap off to nourish/regrowth spam no sense to keep procing it with tranq unless that party you are in is taking massive damage. but yes it sucks for us more so than any class but it offers the most spell power which is what we are after.
@@Redemptionproject09 wow thanks for the fast reply, i just got the trink so i need to put that advice into action and practice... Thanks again
Glyph of rapid rejuv is 12 seconds, in heroism it's like 8 seconds based on your haste at 856.
I think I might be changing from rapid to regular.
This is a great guide, I've recommended it to my guildies. I wouldn't change a single thing about this guide tbh.
yea it all depends on your haste value but obviously its trash in 25m content
so back in the day i played resto in raids, i was in a very good guild. i recall spamming lifebloom A LOT and not running OOM and i was topping healing meters. of course my memory is a bit fuzzy but i def. remember using lifebloom a lot. in your video you say lifebloom should not be used much?
Great guide. Never tried healing. Which spells should level 30 druids use? Is it just rejuvenation and healing touch?
I would not recommend playing resto at low level unless you are twinking
@@Redemptionproject09 Thanks for the reply. I am actually levelling as feral but thought it was possible to still heal low level dungeons with regrowth and healing touch. Is it possible to do this?
@@michaelkneale3825 low levels yes but once you get around 40 or so you'll probably want to spec into resto
Great video. Right now preparing myself for WOTLK Classic release so this helps me a lot.
I have a question though not sure if after all this time you posted the vid you will see this but I'll give it a try:
Why not engeneering or alchemy as second professions?
@@Redemptionproject09 so endgame full bis the best are jc + tailor?
@@shinoda- yes
@@Redemptionproject09 tysm
@@shinoda- tailor and jc should be best in tier 9-10 as there is more AoE damage in raids. So it's not just end game best in slot that it's the best.
Yo funky, started playing druid recently, what do you recommend for minor glyphs?
mark of the wild dash and no reagent for rebirth. none of them are really useful minus dash and thats only on lk and rs where u might use it twice.
@@Redemptionproject09 thank you as always, love the guide's
Me encantaría esa guía en español

What is the haste cap for resto shaman? Is there any point in getting lesser healing wave below 1 second?
Great question. Shamans have no real haste cap so to speak only lesser cap 1269. Me and suxus have been running the numbers on that and from what he has calculated out it's pointless to go beyond that. While I would argue there is a point to it on aoe fights where you are literally spamming ch 98% of the time beyond pp bql I don't think there are any benefits in it.
@@Redemptionproject09 Great, thanks man - would you then try and hit socket bonuses or gem straight sp?
@@maximilianodriscoll8326 ill never go for socket bonuses but i dont think its spell power that i would go and stack for either i think crit rating would almost be more valuable. shamans hit hard as it is with full haste gems in every socket its something we are working on calculating out currently for right now maybe a mix of sp and crit
@@Redemptionproject09 great - look forward to seeing the finished product
Without spell power your hots do not heal for nearly as much
how do i cast a spell on my target and yell out its name on a macro? like using hysteria on someone or any other spell?
I usually have addons that do that automatically via whispers
do you prefer Tailloring or Enchanting for resto druid?? how "Lightweave Embroidery" can help to increase my healing in 25raids??
The proc pushes your spell power higher and since it is up almost all the time when not on CD it is better. Having enchanting is more static and is less spell power but you'll have it all the time and on no CD.
Funkymusic i had deleting my tailloring, i’m going to do it again.
I forgot, in the first option you dont have spirit and in the second one you have 100 spirit.
@@Redemptionproject09 I'm already un the 856 cap, so with your recomendations Is better to lose 6 Haste and 100 crit to have more sp ? I have 20% crit
@@robles9605 well don't forget the spirit conversion as well into spell power. If ur at haste cap go with higher spell power and crit
I am new to healing in general, and currently i am running some RDfs with my 74 resto dudu. However i have a question regarding raid healing:
As a healer, am i supposed to keep an eye on 24 memebrs besides me and heal who is low/damaged or i should focus on some specific 1-2 group(s)?
@@Redemptionproject09 how is it possible to blanket 24 memebrs?
@@amirmirou8037 its not. you can get about 18 covered at any moment but never 24 unless you get some really good procs on your tier 10
@@Redemptionproject09 thanks for replying, i appreciate it.
Will you make balance guide if you play in that spec
i play it but its not something i have full in depth knowledge about i know the forum guides for it are hot garbage and me and suxus are going over some of the things to do with it so maybe in the future i will come out with this guide
Thank u
Welcome
why would you need as resto Celestial Focus? it doesnt make sense u cant use hurican or starfire in icc xD
The 3% spell haste it gives is for ALL spells. So if your at lower haste it allows you to cap haste in less gear.
@@Redemptionproject09 didnt know that one thank you
Awersome vid mate, could i ask you a few questions pal?, first. im between Bis, and pre-bis, my guild can't do RS25HC, so i have the great cloak, But i was able to get the 271 Versions of the BoFN (braces of firey 25mn) and i have the 264 Ring Memory of Mal 25mn, so my question is, im sat at 830 Haste(using Val Mace, haven't had LK's mace drop yet, and i dont have the PSB boots to swap for extra haste), i could gem another +12SP and +10 Haste gem, on the ring to get to 840, And then maybe and +12SP + 10 Haste on the braces, without losing the socket bonus, but them im going to lose like what +23SP overall, but i would be sat at 850.
@@Redemptionproject09 Thanks man
Glyph of healing touch is actually fire if you are leveling, lmao
You going for classic world first?
ive been retired for 2 years. wife, kid, job, house. im closer to 40 than 30. if i had none of that and tons of money to pay bills sure. I would do something casual maybe but i dont even have time to level. it was a good run for 10+ years but everything good must come to an end.
20% from 1.44 isnt 0.1 btw
No I was saying that it would shave off only .3 seconds in a full raid with buffs bc it's a 1.3 sec cast then. Thus it would be at a gcd cap.
Hey Funky,
Thanks for the updated guide.
(Sorry about the long text.)
I completely agree with you when we're talking about pugs or raids where the other healers not that great.
Thanks
agree on the maces part. i would swap between LK mace and trauma depending on the fight.
as far as rapid rejuv goes its ok on some bosses and great for 10m content. beyond that its really not helping the raid as a whole nor does it fit with what we do best. if you take it you are hurting your healing overheal and maximizing direct healing. again great for fights like dbs and such but far less effective in keeping the raid up which is what we do best.
your disc priest shields however will break before he can refresh due to weakened soul and that player may start taking damage slowly or at a higher rate depending on the fight and the rng. in this case when it comes to rejuv quantity >quality either way it hampers your ability to effectively cover the raid and blanket vs not having it.
with no raid buffs at 856 haste cap its at 13 seconds vs with full haste buffs its even lower around 10-11 when hero gets thrown its even lower yet. its effectively cutting down on half the rejuvs you can have out and rolling thus hurting your healing. damage is rng and thus more heals out=more healing done.
again it has its place for sure but not in most fights. if you want a more in depth explanation for it i can link you the EJ forums where that discussion took place and they go into it in depth like crazy. also on that note the EJ guides while outdated in some aspects such as gems/enchants and having no bis list still has good math that can be used to properly calculate numbers out effectively.
edit/quick update- can confirm with haste totem only its at 10 and with hero and totem its at 9. either way not good. thats a lot less targets being covered. in fact nearly half the targets you would normally be able to cover.
spellpower or haste food?
Haste if your under cap. Sp if at cap
Talents?

Shame i thought since it's for wotlk classic it wouldn't be made for icc but like all the other guides for resto druid in wotlk they only look at icc xD

You're being toxic in this video
Lifebloom is Crap^^ only use it in PVP when they dispell to much
Well considering OOC procs less in beta testing you'll be using it a lot more now in classic.
