Wow 63 miles that's stunning! When I tested the floureon the other night I don't think propagation was very good I might take them back when things improve and try again because in theory Line of Sight 6 miles should have been ok
How many watts was this walkie talkie and what antenna was used. Most will agree that 63 miles is unlikely for any walkie talkie no matter the band its on
One way to extend range is to transmit with your legal PMR radio and receive on a scanner or a more sensitive ham radio with a high gain omni or a yagi mounted as high as possible. A magnetic mount mobile antenna would also work well in the car. You would need listen with headphones to the receiver to avoid feedback.

Btw. There are now some PMR versions of Chinese handhelds. Like the Baofeng BF88E which is a version of the BF888. There is also a PMR version of the Radioddity R2. They both come with fixed antennas and 0,5W output.

I have a BT_t1 and its TX and rx is fine. I did read some where that the antenna can suffer dry joint on the PCB.. so may be worth checking.. I have also done the audio mod so they no longer deafen you even at the lowest volume setting. Have you tried using other radios to see if it just one of your radios that is deaf or has poor transmit.
Same law here in Belgium with 0,5 w 16ch, but in Belgium repeaters, base stations and in car radio's are not allowed only portable sets in PMR446, cb radio is licens free and only 4W 40 channels am & fm mobile base or portable and only 2W for SSB

The "bakkies" were used for mutual communication and thus broke the grind of the long, mind-numbing journeys, but they could also help each other in the event of a breakdown. At that time, the use of these transmitters was illegal in the Netherlands. This did not change until March 3, 1980. It was allowed to work with 0.5 watts in FM and on 22 channels, provided they had a license (MARC license). This cost 35 guilders and could be bought by anyone without a course or training provided you were 14 years or older. It became an immensely popular hobby and within a short time there was also a huge crowd and it was almost impossible to cover long distances at normal times. Partly because of this pressure, 40 channels were later (in 1982) allowed with a maximum power of 2 watts to eventually reach the current CEPT standard of 40 channels with 4 watts on FM / AM / SSB.

Another great informative video buddy but reminds me I did bring 2 talkies home from Florida in 2008 so wonder what they operate on ? But in the flip side the world needs a standard so everyone don't interfere if the skip is up etc what u think?
There isn't one other than its not legal to do so in most countries because of the power output, even in low power the UV5R is too powerful to legally operate on PMR, that being said everyone does it to be honest.
Wider bandwidth equals better audio quality narrow bandwidth equals less space for audio signal hence worse quality, that's why FM radio music stations are wide band.

I think I sent you the channels on another thread somewhere on RUclips each channel number and colour code for 1 to 8 which is simple as cc is also 1 to 8 tgid across uk is 901, but expect training centres to be differant and also some may have a freq channels extra with a differant tone but sane freq as u can add to national plan not take away from it though

FRS radios in the U.S. are now authorized for 0.5 W and 2 Watts. However, the 2 W side is only available on certain channels.

FRS was increased from 500 milliwatts to 2 watts in 2021.

No not legally but if you are careful and stick with low power PMR sets you won't have an issue, I hear FRS sets in the UK all the time.
