    Thanks for the review. I have an old school long refractor (80/1200) that weights about 4kg. Do you think the AZ pronto mount can handle it?

      @BogdanDamian  2 года назад

      @Gabriel Robles Hi! Yes, it should handle your telescope without a problem.

    Hello Bogdan, excellent video. I am looking to buy this mount and tripod, have you managed to try it with a heavier telescope on it? I'm hoping to mount a Heritage 130P which looks like it will weigh closer to 4kgs with an eyepiece on it.

    • @BogdanDamian
      @BogdanDamian  Год назад

      @gp5017 Hi! Yes I've used it with a load of approx 3kg without a problem. 4kg is significantly more, but I believe that the mount should support the Heritage 130p's weight just fine.

    • @gp5017
      @gp5017 Год назад +1

      @@BogdanDamian Thank you Bogdan, I have actually weighed the 130P with one of my bigger eyepieces and it comes in at 3.25kgs so I think it will be okay.

    Does the mount slip if the telescope is viewing something at high altitude, like overhead?

    • @BogdanDamian
      @BogdanDamian  Год назад

      @demej00 Not at all. If the tightening knobs are tighten up good, then the movement on both axis is smooth and constant across the whole range.

    I only wish Skywatcher sold this mount tripod combo without a telescope. They'll only sell the mount separately on a different cheap, nasty, wobbly tripod that wouldn't look out of place in a Walmart...

    Hello Again, I am having trouble finding this AZ Pronto Mount in the United States. Can you help ??

    • @BogdanDamian
      @BogdanDamian  Год назад

      @rollandford8790 I've just did a quick search online and unfortunately haven't been able to find any places that still sell these mounts. I have created a reminder to check on this again in a couple of weeks and if I find something, I'll post it here.

    A good advertisement for Skywatcher... Looking at this construction, it seems to me that its rigidity is sufficient for reliable retention... the phone! All hinges work on the fracture, the absence of stiffeners, minimal use of steel. Thank you for not being made of plastic!
    I don't understand at all why the mounts are like a good telescope or a premium eyepiece. It's just a TRIPOD! It does not need fine grinding, tricky glasses and optical coatings. Just a casting, turned on a machine. This could be done even in 1850. Moreover, it is much better than today, because they did not learn how to do it badly back then.

    Can it handle a 102mm f/5 refractor

    • @BogdanDamian
      @BogdanDamian  Год назад +1

      @klttrll Yes, without a problem. I've been testing an f7 102mm refractor with other gear on it (~6.5kg) for the past month and never run into issuers with the mount.

      @klttrll I know, that they are hard to find. I'll keep an eye out for you and will let you know if I find it somewhere. Honestly you might have better luck buying a used one from someone who got it as part of a telescope + mount set.
