You've done a really good job with the demos of this modeler Leon! You already know I've been a Fender afficionado, long before I became a disciple of ADA gear, and I still have a ton of both here at the house. It figures Fender would come out with something like this when I've been fussing with a Cyber Twin and a pair of Cyber Deluxe amps to do most of what this pedal does. I've actually been doing A/B comparisons of two wet/dry/wet Fender rigs to dial in the tones on the Cyber amps. My other Fender rig is two SF Twins with a SF Vibrolux in the center for the dry, using the Fender pedals they had out a few years ago. The Pugilist and Santa Ana OD are a must in that rig, with plenty of sweet tube clean tones on tap whenever I need it, and direct boxes from the pedal board to FOH available. This thing could let me take a couple of guitars and this to a gig, and just toss this in the front seat of my car. I'm VERY tempted.
This is so exciting to see a company like Fender get into this, they have so many resources and a solid reputation for a very historic brand. To see them model their own "licensed" EVH and Fender amps is nothing short of sick and I'm hoping they really increase the line up. I want to see more EVH models; the other iii versions, the Iconic; and also some more Fenders; the silverface models, the supersonic 22/60/100, hell even the Roc Pro. More than anything I want to see them get the bass side going, I want to see Sansamp bass preamps, Ampeg, Darkglass, Hartke, an their own Bassman and Superbassman models with matching bass cabs and such. I personally run a silverface Bassman 100 into a Hartke 210/410 stack and it would be sick to get that sound in a small modeler that I could take anywhere with ease. I honestly was a little let down they dropped this with only a '59 bassman combo when modeler have so much potential for bass tones, live and in the studio. Being able to big even the most complex and crazy bass rigs in one single package is just huge and is something I find important as a studio musician. I hope more than anything that Fender can use it's large amount of reources to really flesh this thing out and support it so that one day I could have this as a tool for my studio. It would be nice to have this at my mix desk for quick tones or full on presets for whole albums to easily recall at a moments notice.
Not sure if I have posted this before (apologies if I have), but the Mission SP1-TMP (co branded and custom paint) unlocks things like volume control, wah and a lot of cool creativity/control. Fender also made it reeeeally easy to set up the expression and the toe switch. Control up to 5 parameters at once and use the toe switch to turn off one or all effects.
I would love to see a comparison of tones between this and the FM9. Obviously the FM9 has way more options, but with what TMP has, can you get tones in the same ballpark? Tweaking the FM9 live is a pain in my opinion and has me considering this.
I agree with you I’ve had the fractal and now own this TM pro. Much easier. Could you get better tone out of the FM9. Eventually you could if you have time and know what each parameter change does. But this TM pro has a very small to zero learning curve.
@@cjconklin4877 how do you think the effects stack up in comparison and the feel on the TMP? Those are 2 things I do really like about fractal. Thanks.

Great video! You mentioned that you would like to see scenes functionality. What’s the difference between scenes and the already provided ability to assign multiple functions to a foot switch such as pedal bypass and multiple parameter changes?
I have an older Fender Mustang GT200 (stereo) that I use for practice or some throw and go stuff and I have to say, this technology looks a little more advanced, but they've had their Fender models down for awhile. Some of the models in that amp are pretty spot on to my ear. I'm sure this is next level.

Hello I really enjoy your videos and was wondering if you can record vocals on the Fender tone master looper ? I have tried and couldn’t find a way to do it thanks for your help.
Probably not for Ragdoll stuff, I've got my Fractal stuff dialed in nicely for that. I'm going to try do some cover gigs with it though and see how I like it.
This Fender modeler definately will have a market for: limited $ for a very expensive valve head, small package platform in a small livinng space, no room for a massive 4x12 cab and a head, transportation of equipment in small vehicles. digital platform right to the computer, etc... Fender TMP will definately have a significant niche in the market of modelers for the customers that this equipment flips thier switch for it.
Help me out Leon. I’m still within my return period on my Helix Floor. The store said I can swap for the Tone Master Pro. No issues with the Helix but I want to make the smart choice. What should I do?

Thank you so much for this great and super useful deep dive!! Would it be possible to further explore the effects loop? Many here will undoubtedly have numerous pedals that we still want to keep using. Could a chain of pedals from a pedalboard be routed through the stereo effects loop? 🤘🤘
Can you stack button functions? Seems like if you want to go from a clean sound to a lead sound there could be some tap dancing instead of single button. Unless they just intend you to use presets.
Hi, I didn't quite get the difference between footswitch multi assignment in TMP and snapshots in other modelling units, don't they allow to do the same exact thing? Thanks!!
I didn't understand what you said about loops 1 and 2. If they are before AD, how can you place loops 1 and 2 in a block anywhere in your preset? (it seemed to me that you can).
Did you see Rhett Shulls youtube video of the Tone Master Pro,he said there is Digital (artifacts) some Fizz in the upper frequencies with most of if not all of the amp models?Leon did you hear any of this with your Tonemaster Pro?
I saw that too. Odd that in a shootout, Andertons didn't mention it at all against the competition and rated it pretty highly against other modelers they offer (excluding Fractal who only sell direct if course)
I think Rhett should have checked his other gear connected to the Tone Master Pro to rule out this noise problem, maybe his Usb Audio Interface,Studio Monitors, connections, cables? He should have also listened on Headphones and or through a Amp?Maybe he got a defective unit?
Follow up to this. Try the Pedal Detune in series, pedal at 100%, pitch set to shallow. Not any sculpting control beyond that but sounds great to my ears on the Mustang GT, let alone the TMP (assumingly higher quality) version.
Hi Leon, maybe a tricky question but what i would like to know after i saw your videos about the St. Rock Amperium live and so many others like the Friedman IR-x etc. is, what would be your favorit modeler if you only would go for a good tone except the Axe Fx?
Oooh great question. If it has to be all digital then the amperium is up there for amp tones. QC with the capture function and the Helix offer up some great tones too, as does the BOSS GX if you just stick to their original models
@@LeonTodd thank you for your fast reply and your opinion, i think i go with the amperium just because of the toneshaping features and the fair pricetag. Also i just need just a bit of simple effects (delay, reverb and maybe a Phaser) and it is all in the unit. Keep up the good work 😊
Great demo man, So if tone is the priority and all we want from the amps to the effects is that vintage vibe we get from real things, where do u rate the tone master pro ? In comparison to the quad cortex, kemper and fractal? Thanks a lot
Hi Leon! I picked one of these up a few days ago. I also am a AF3 user as well. Have you noticed that when you switch from a factory cab to an IR that while using the IR the volume of the preset is much louder? For instance, the preset I uploaded to the cloud named "JMP-1 ish" uses the factory cab and when I swapped the cab for my York Audio M25 GB IR the volume is much much louder. Also, what happens if someone uploads to the cloud and the preset is using a third-party IR?
The point is that it's changing the dry tone, and I'd like to be able to have the tone of the delay without the dry signal getting borked if I want - turning the mix down to zero demonstrates what is happening to the dry.
@@LeonToddhi Leon ! Of course the Fractal is unbeatable for quantity and possibilities. For live playing is great too. But the sound of this Fender is way more Closer to my real amps miked (i dont like external IR with it though.. still prefer the stock cabs)
Agree with all these replies yes the fractal lets you go deep within the amps. But I don’t want to dive deep in the rabbit hole. Just want to adjust the amps. Which sounds amazing out of the box. Play with mic placement and you’re golden
Thanks Leon, I haven't heard anything out of this unit that I would call good. There is a high end digital hiss that is abrasive to my ear. It sounds absolutely terrible. You must hear it. Am I nuts?
I think the unit sounds pretty good, that high end hiss is pretty common with digital units and certain combinations, like as example, when I use a real octave fuzz in front of one of my modellers I have to dial it’s boost gain from 5/100 to 3/100 to get ridd of some hiss it adds below 8k, plus a low pass filter on the IR to remove anything above, doesn’t need to be send to the mixer. I guess Leon is going DI out in the video, with the devices IR’s mic placement and lowpass/highcut should take care of it, no idea if that option is there for user loaded IR’s, should be though, same as being able to set levels seperately for DI and the regular output to an amp, and being able to select which outputs that should use DI. So that hiss might not even come from the unit itself. Watched a few other review and demos where it isn’t present. Did watch a quick comparison between the Mastertone and some other units, to me the Fender is prefered, both sound wise as to it’s features, allthough the Kemper Profiler Stage sounded more pleasant to the ears than even the real amps. Best is to test and compare in a music store, since even RUclips reviews and demos won’t cover every individual way gear is used. I had a few drive pedals and a boutique delay that did sound good on YT but not when I added them into my signal chain, my mistake for not knowing that some drives are designed around specific use, the delay was clipping even with low gain at unison volume with medium output pups.
Isn't any more harsh than the Boss GT1000core or similar models on my Fractal that haven't been dialed in. Everything needs to tweaking, and IR's are everything.
Man, the UI is really excellent. If Fender keep supporting this device, and then expanding the line down-market, they seem to have a winner here. Leon: I'm obsessing over the few good Mark IIC+ offerings in the modeling space. Do you have experience with the Neural DSP plugin, and if you can say if Fender's model sounds the similar?
Seems like they got the tone stack right as well as the switches which is nice. Both the NDSP plugin and Fractal models have a bit more of that dry, percussive attack going on.
It bothers me deeply that a 1699$ unit is available in Europe for 1870€ (2000$). QC is 200€ cheaper and Helix 400€ cheaper. Keeping in mind that mint condition, second hand, QC and Helix exist for a lot less, it does not make sense to buy it. I would've consider buying it at the US price, tho.
Does latency build up when you add more blocks (like in the QC) or does it stay really, really low (like Boss)? I feel a lot of space is wasted on nice graphics. I do like that the graphics are a little less spartan than on the QC but...with already a few standards blocks you will have to start scrolling. A suggestion would be to (have the option to) display the signal chain as a double row. Also, as JNC showed, they need to work a bit on their pitch block tracking.
Id like to see the ability to jumper the amps added using the touch screen. It would be cool to be able to use the encoder on tap tempo to adjust the time theres a few other small things in routing that would be more efficient like spreading the chain having two or more separate rows so you dont have to scroll to see everything maybe having a pinch to zoom in and out function would help
Careful Leon you are making this unit look really good and this unit only costs $2,349 AUD, even I am interested in one - just waiting to see if they give this thing more amps before pulling the trigger, it's one hellava good deal in Oz dollars. Whereas a kitted out Fractal AxeFX III mkII Turbo only costs, oh, $7,139 AUD - they might revoke your Fractal status on the forums if you keep this up.
small gripe that I think is really stupid. If you're going to go with the whole skeuowmorphic thing. Why make a "parametric EQ" and "studio compressor" look like boss guitar pedals? They're not. They should look like an SSL and a Fairchild or something.
I think Leon's playing can bias about the real unit sound (he can sound awesome with whatever gear), however imo the tone master doesn't sound that good to invest that amount of money.
Oh boy, you too doing more TMP videos instead of just saying look guys this is crap, pretty screen but bad tones lol. I'm sorry you have to entertain this toy of a modeler. YouTubing sometimes is work, isn't it, mate?

@@LeonToddhi Leon ! Of course the Fractal is unbeatable for quantity and possibilities. For live playing is great too. But the sound of this Fender is way more Closer to my real amps miked (i dont like external IR with it though.. still prefer the stock cabs)
Agree with all these replies yes the fractal lets you go deep within the amps. But I don’t want to dive deep in the rabbit hole. Just want to adjust the amps. Which sounds amazing out of the box. Play with mic placement and you’re golden
Thanks Leon,
I haven't heard anything out of this unit that I would call good.
In part, you have to turn of AUX input. It’s in the forums…
Isn't any more harsh than the Boss GT1000core or similar models on my Fractal that haven't been dialed in.
Everything needs to tweaking, and IR's are everything.
I think it sounds awesome. I’ve played on one so I know.
@@LeonToddThanks so much. You have no idea how much I appreciate this.
QC is $800 more expensive in Australia… I got the fender unit for $1500USD
Majority of shops in australia selling the TMP between $1500 - $1600 US. The RRP is never the actual street price
Nice :)
Can we here the Dyno My Piano Tri Chorus ??
Next vid!
Yeah there's a lot of space being wasted with the graphics. Give me real big controls over pretty pictures any day.
Fender has stated that latency is fixed for all chains and will only increase when using loops 3/4 as they require extra A/D conversions
@@dansomerville that´s something they def. got right then!
That would be cool!
I wanna hear a singer thru the mic side
Toast Master Pro
AXE FXIII vs TMP I speak for everyone!!! And Ice Cream 🤙
FENDARRRRRRRR!
FENDURRRR!!
FENDIIIIIIR
7ender
These all sound like Tolkien characters
small gripe that I think is really stupid. If you're going to go with the whole skeuowmorphic thing. Why make a "parametric EQ" and "studio compressor" look like boss guitar pedals? They're not. They should look like an SSL and a Fairchild or something.
Exactly
The sting for ice cream
That riff you play from your band sounds an awful lot like Atonement by Opeth. Are you secretly Mikael Akerfeldt?
Now that I think about it I've never seen the two of us in the same room at the same time
@@LeonTodd one day....
It's too expensive..killer though...
I think Leon's playing can bias about the real unit sound (he can sound awesome with whatever gear), however imo the tone master doesn't sound that good to invest that amount of money.
"5153"? Think you've spent too much time in Fractal land 😅
Bro most people have been calling the 5150 iii the 5153 since the dang thing came out 😂
A clean sound should be clean , and not gnarly .... i didnt hear a proper clean sound on this unit .
There is alot going on there, and it is not GOOD. YUCK!!!! They need to fix FAST, UPDATES, UPGRADES.
@@ksharpe10 Yeah it’s called preset tuning..
Unfortunately your cleans are not cleans
god the fuzz models are horrible... i heard they were better, better they are not.
This unit is Junk.
Oh boy, you too doing more TMP videos instead of just saying look guys this is crap, pretty screen but bad tones lol. I'm sorry you have to entertain this toy of a modeler. YouTubing sometimes is work, isn't it, mate?
