This video is to bring you a closer look at the Ultra Hardware 44253 Standard Duty Commercial Cylindrical Lever Lockset.
This is a typical commercial Grade 2 cylindrical lockset with the return to the back of the door, which is required for ADA compliance.
This is the satin chrome finish.
    You have your rosettes.
It is built to emulate a very common deign of locks.
We happen to use this type of lock in residential applications where they want a lever lock, although the construction of this is a bit of overkill for a residential application, but still very appropriate.
Overkill meaning it is made to handle more usage than a residential application would typically give.
Also, we typically sell these in light duty commercial applications such as retail spaces, fast food restaurants, these places are going to get more than light duty commercial use.
These locks certainly seem to hold up.
A lock like this that is in this price range is not intended really for anything beyond very light duty commercial use.
However, they do seem to last.
They will eventually need to be replaced, in my opinion.
This is a push turn button style.
When it is unlocked you can push the button in and it locks the outside, until you rotate the inside handle and then it automatically unlocks the outside.
Or you can push the button in from the inside and then turn it and the outside will always be locked even if you try to turn the inside handle.
2-3/4" latch bolt, standard on commercial steel doors or doors prepped for a 161 lock prep.
    4-7/8" strike.
    Two keys included.
Spanner wrench will come with this, this allows you to remove the levers and ultimately allow you to remove the cylinder should you need to.
You use this tool by depressing the tabs to take the knobs off.
Screw package is included, this would be for through bolting the door, you would drill a hole at 12 and 6 (this is the recommended way of installation).
There is so much torque that can be put on the lever that you can spin the lock and the screws at 12 and 6 will prevent that.
There is a link below this video with instructions and a template.
All your screws for the latch bolt and strike plate are included.
Very straight forward installation on the lock.
The diameter of the rosette is about 3-3/8".
The overall length of the lever is about 5".

Upon unlocking/locking the door with a key, do you have to tilt the handle lever up after twisting the key? A very standard question, i just know that their are some brands out there that have looked into different locking/unlocking patterns.

Hey, I appreciate the tutorial. I do have a related question. I'm trying to remove a knob that looks just like this but, is a privacy lock. It's on the toilet stall at a restaurant. The locking mechanism is not functioning as it should. I can't figure how to get it off to replace it. I found one that looks like it by Tell but doesn't remove the same way. There is a hole on the handle but, I inserted a small allen wrench into it but,was unable to remove the lever. Any suggestions?

I’m trying to install one just like this I just can’t figure out why the key doesn’t let me lock from the outside it just makes the lever move with it instead of locking, any help…..

I thought a clutched lever was one that you can still turn from the outside even when it's locked. What you're showing seems to be a fixed lever.

I've installed it and the latch isn't far enough out. To actually catch the door jamb.

The lever lockset that you are reviewing has a rigid mechanism and not a clutch mechanism :)
