I"m a new grad nurse. Love making a difference in people's lives, also like the fact that nursing offers many different opportunities when it comes to choosing where to work.
I'm about to start school in the spring. I'm so excited to help people and affect and improve people's quality of life! I've been putting this off for a few years but it's finally time to make a difference! I was born to help and care for others! ♥
I am SO EXCITED to become a nurse. This is something that I have wanted to do since I was 7 years old. I am currently in an LPN program, graduating in March; then I will be heading off to an RN program. The BEST day so far out of the nursing program, for me, was being able to sit in on a 3 hr cervical spinal surgery. I have to say that being able to experience something that like was surreal. I LOVE the patients and I LOVE taking care of people & I CAN'T WAIT to be a nurse!!! :)
I am a nursing student. I follow your videos religiously and I love watching all your tips and advice! I'm excited to be a nurse because nursing is one of the most amazing professions that one can choose to pursue. It is so incredibly rewarding to both yourself and your patients. There is nothing greater than the reward of doing for others. Ever since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to be a nurse. I grew up really poor because my family struggled to pay all of the medical bills of my younger brother, Shane, who was always in and out of our local Children's Hospital for various health issues. I can vividly remember all of the nurses and the doctors and how amazing they were to him and my family. We got to know many of them and I saw just how much they did an struggled to keep Shane happy and healthy and our family comfortable during his stays there. That meant so much to our family and it was SUCH and inspiration for me. This is also why I've decided to specialize in peds. Those nurses have inspired me to do so many great things with my life and if I could thank them again, I would. My younger sister, Shayla (Shanes twin) is following in her big sisters footsteps and she's decided that she wants to go to nursing school too!! I already have her watching some of the EmpoweRN videos and she is just as ambitious as I was in high school! I cannot wait for Graduation Day!! I know I will make a great nurse one day! Nursing is our skill, but caring is our profession!!
I cant wait to become a nurse because i want to be able to make patients hospital stay as comfortable as possible and guide them through what is going on with them medically. I want to comfort people. I too get scared when i have to be in the hospital and this is what guided me to the nursing profession. Love your videos!
I'm in my last year of a 4 year nursing program, n honestly the reality has hit me that very soon i will be taking care of real people in real life situations, n i could make a mistake that could seriously injure a patient, so I'm petrified that i will be a terrible nurse! but I am excited at the same time to finally be able to help others where they cannot help themselves, i want to be able to be the good part in a persons day thats in the hospital and let them know that I'm there to help them!
I love being a nurse because there are so many opportunities and fields out there. I got my first job working with peds in the home and school setting and I love it!
I am a nursing student and my reason for becoming a nurse has changed a little. Before I started school, my reason was simply to help people. I thought, "I like medicine, I like helping people, I should be a nurse". Now that I am in nursing school, I'm suffering through constant stress, lack of sleep & no time at all! But this is still what I want to do because I've gotten to go to clinical and I have helped some amazing patients . I feel so lucky to enter a career where CARING IS MY JOB!
I cant wait to become a nurse help people! I get the best satisfaction when I see that I have helped or made someone feel better. Senior year nursing student!!!
Your videos definitely has reduced my anxiety starting a new adventure working in a nursing home. I know it will be demanding and stressful at times, but I'm eager to learn.I appreciate the time and energy into making these videos and continue to empower us as nurses, because nursing school cannot prepare or teach realness of what it entails. I want to say , thank you for your support.
+Jeannine Cutler Hi Jeannine! Thank you so much for letting me know how much the videos help you! Makes all the hard work with it 😉 I will do my best to keep them coming! Looking forward to seeing you on here again soon!! Much love, - Caroline
Hey, I'm in my 3rd semester of my ADN program; "Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing". I have always helped friends and family through any turmoil or hurdle they were going through. The uplift and support made me realize that helping others was something I have done, and always wanted to do for a living. The problem is it only took 6 years and 2 separate degrees later for me to finally realize that thinking about it doesn't get me very far. I'll be done with my RN May 2014, making a difference daily
I am going to be a student coming this spring! I am so excited to start on this journey! I know it will be long hours+stress+hard work. I just want to thank you for posting these videos, it helps me to get answers to some hesitations or questions that were bouncing around in my head! I am so excited to start my career in nursing, I refused to settle for a career/job that I wouldn't enjoy going to every day. I just want patients to know that they aren't just another number! :)
I love nursing it's a chance to impact someone's life and make the works a better place! I'm an lpn working on my RN and it's been a wonderfully eye opening stressful journey I have enjoyed every last second
Such a helpful video! I have a first degree in psychology so the reason I love being a nurse is that I am able to use my previous degree to also help patients and their families in critical care areas where I've worked to deal with the stress and changes that are happening often unexpectedly. Psychological health can often be overlooked in hospital settings so I love being able to advocate in this area for patients!
Love your professionalism and passion to give back to others in the field - Thank you! Looking forward to becoming a professional nurse (in 13 months!!) to be a part of empowering patients and families to reach their highest health potential through education and compassion. And CAN'T WAIT to be a part of medical missions in Guatemala!!
I am a second year nursing student, 6 more months till graduation! I just got your second book on kindle. Not finish reading it yet. Thank you for sharing tips how to stay organized. You are awesome.
+Jintana Clements Hi Jintana! Awesome, thank you so much for letting me know that you like the books & videos :) Looking forward to hearing from you again very soon! xoxo - Caroline
Hi Caroline...it's Amanda (from the e-mail)..just wanted to thank you for this videos and all the others! You're a huge inspiration! Of course, you know the situation with my mom and what happened to her and this is the biggest reason I want to become a nurse! Got your book on how to study for A&P and can't wait to start! Thanks again for everything!!
I am planning to travel the world and the US to visit places where I can be of the most help for people to get medical care! I have a great compassion within my heart for people! I know that becoming a nurse is what God has intended me to do.
I can't wait to be a nurse because this has been a lifelong passion of mine and after 5 1/2 years of school and soon to be two bachelor's degrees I am ready to take on the world!!!! (I am also addicted to sticky notes...they were so useful to learn the categories of drugs for pharm)
I can't wait to start my first job as a Med Surg nurse , so that I serve to other people which main reason for wanting to be a NURSE...I had my interview Monday and expecting to here from them later today December 13,2017! What a Christmas gift after waiting 5 months to re- take my NCLEX for the second time and pass... I am so excited! Thanks Caroline for your inspiration!
Caroline I just wanted to thank you for this great advice and it has helped me so much! It can sometimes can be challenging to have 6 patients but it has been very helpful to have your examples and to see your videos. I appreciate all the time you take in making these videos!
I can't wait to become a nurse because I want to make a difference in people's lives and I want to help them improving their health as much as I can, and I also can't wait to learn from them!
Just finished all pren Reqs and co Reqs this semester for my nursing program . It's been long coming since i have to go to school only part time... Excited for the future ahead ... Love your videos
I'm love being a nurse because there is so much you can do with your career and fits all kinds of personalities! I like a bit of drama, that's why I choose to be in ER :) Congratualtions for your channel, it is important for nurses to speak with each other around the world and share experiences. Nursing is a VERY stressfull job, we need to stay together!
I love your videos!!! They really helped me pass nursing school and the NCLEX first time! I am now 2 months into my first RN position in Acute Rehab and I am really having difficulty keeping on track when things come up that throw me off my routine. I have tried several different report sheets which all have their pros and cons. I initially felt best with keeping everything on one sheet of paper that I could keep in my pocket but I am finding I do not have enough room to write all of my notes on each patient during the day. I also feel it is very important to document notes (not just the charting) on each patient for the rest of the health care team but by the end of the shift my brain just feels fried and I have difficulty putting in good notes. Hopefully I will get better with this in time. I have noticed that things I initially thought would be impossible to do I am now able to get done. I also have tried getting your report sheet and the link does not work? Is there another way I could get it?
This was great, I wish I had done this at clinical! I will take these tips and bring them to my first job! I also didn't know you wrote a second book. I will have to check that out! THANK YOU!
My pleasure!! I really hope all of the resources help you out a lot!! I hope you love the book :) Let me know if you need anything else!! Much Love, - Caroline

oops I forgot to put why I am excited about nursing school. I love that I am always doing new things and that no patient is the same and I stay on my toes so it keeps me engaged and working hard. I actually enjoy waking up early to go to the hospital!
I didn't pick nursing. Nursing Picked me. Ever since I was 5 I was helping take care of my mother who suffers from relapsing remitting Multiple Sclerosis. Caring and taking care of others became second nature to me. I couldn't see myself doing anything else :)
