It was emotional betrayal for me, but my husband doesn’t want to indulge my questions. He wants to move on without having some closure. I know it takes time, but he doesn’t want me to think about it or bring it up. I suspect he hasn’t been totally honest with me.
He's showing you why you need to leave. He needs to hold himself accountable for what he's done and admit that it happened. He needs to be okay with you hurting, asking any questions you feel you need to and recognize that HE created this situation. He needs to be painfully honest. Otherwise he doesn't want to work on the relationship and at least you know where you stand.
Needed this. Right now I’m gonna sit with my feelings and process what happened. If I decide that I do want to continue the relationship….I will take these steps. Thank you.
My partner lied several times and he was having an ongoing connection with an old female friend overseas and sharing a lot of personal and emotional stuff with her( including that he used to have the hots for her), amongst other intricate webs of lies. His reason is that he didn’t trust that I would trust him! I never ever gave him readings to think this over 8 years How to get past this? I feel it’s broken my heart and damaged my trust.I can’t let it go and am terrified that if I give him another chance then he will do it all over again
It is very important to set realistic expectations after infidelity if you choose to work on the relationship. If having access to their phone is a non-negotiable (realistic expectation) and they refuse, I would re-evaluate your decision to continue. - Coach Danny

Its likely pain for him to revisit. But truth is he has to consider that u need to talk through it

What if the person who cheated refuses to give phone access?
