I am a huge fan of the original three episodes. Watched Raiders of the Lost Arc and Temple of Doom for the first time on the same day in London back in the summer of 1984. I was just 11 years old then, but what a day! This latest installment pays tribute to the original trilogy. Not a great movie by any means, but solid to be sure. I give it a solid 7/10. Hopefully, they have a good plot for another sequel. Ford, Allen and Rhys Davies still have it. A good plot with more brains than brawn could make for a great movie.

Indy is now old, depressed, divorced, and suicidal after Mutt dies in Vietnam. Fleabag comes in and says lets get a dial. She tries to get Indy murdered twice, by locking him in with Nazis who also want the dial to go back and kill Hitler. They find the dial, but the Nazi's steal it, so Indy and Fleabag go after the Nazis to save Hitler. They all go back to 212 BCE in WW2 Bombers because the dial only goes back to that specific point in time, from this specific time, for reasons. One bomber gets shot down by arrows and doesn't change the past. Indy also gets shot, says let me die in peace, I have nothing to live for. Fleabag says no, you'll change the past if you die here. Fleabag then performs some elder abuse, and Indy wakes up in NY back in 1969, depressed, suicidal, and alone. Then in walks Marion, and he's then depressed, suicidal, but no longer alone. The End.

@@steve-0493 Oof You thought fleabag was a good addition? You didn't think she overacted in every scene? Despite her acting, she was a despicable character, she actively tries to murder her godfather on at least 2 or 3 separate occasions. Most notable locking Indy in with Nazis who just murdered two of his co-workers. Oh she also instructs her guards to shoot Indy? Why? Indy is a man she's known since she was a child, who she would know had saved her father on numerous occasions. So why is she going out of her way to get him killed? I found her more insufferable, and unlikable than Captain Marvel, and that's a bar so low, it would ruin a limbo contest.
People can say whatever they want but I'm watching this 3 times on opening weekend 2nd weekend and 3rd weekend just as homage to Harrison Ford's 80+ years and still kickin attitude. I hope I live that long.
Harrison Ford has already gotten his number for this film. If this film is a piece of shit but turns out to be a hit, Disney will be motivated to make more crappy movies where they crap all over our childhood heroes. I'll see it opening weekend, but I plan to buy a ticket to some other film and then sneak into this theater.

LOOVE that mischievous glint, in Spielberg's eyes! Harrison Ford is the ONLY INDIANA JONES, ever!( child-hood flashbacks excluded... sigh)\ I can hardly wait!
Remember folks this is only a fantasy movie! Indy does everything a real archeologist never does! And everything a real archeologist does, Indy does not do! WHAT archeologist carries a silly whip and a gun and wears a heavy coat/jacket in the desert or jungle? It's just a movie folks, so go see and enjoy it!
Come on Harrison Ford, you did great until the "Crystal Skull". All good things must come to an end, including the "Indiana Jones" Franchise. I'm sure you did it for the money and what else does us old people have to do in our senior years. We are not spring chickens anymore. Let Indiana Jones go. Let us enjoy the good old days and not be hampered with an attempt to warm up left overs and pretend they taste just as good the second, third, forth time around.
I will always think of John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, friend of Indiana Jones. I never watched the Lord of the Rings movies, and I never plan to. I assume that Marion has passed away. I personally am more interested in her story than in their son Mutt.

Was cynical when I heard that it was a Disney production, cannot forgive them for killing off Han Solo in Star Wars, then refused to watch any more productions. But was persuaded to to see Dial of Destiny. Cannot say it was brilliant But so much nostalgia when Indie donned his leather jacket, fedora and stashed his whip, plus the music. Harrison you did us proud.🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇🎇
This point in Indy’s life should of been addressed in the last movie. In the KOTCS they try to Portia Indy as still swinging on his whip and chasing woman . Ridiculous. I would of preferred to see Indy bow out then .
Garth gave Indy his brown fedora as a consolation prize for losing the Cross of Coronado. When that brown fedora no longer returns back to Indy, then Indiana Jones c'est la mort.
Paramount has to admit here that Disney is the backbone of Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny because without it wasn't possible to Awake Great Archimedes and Harrison Ford. Antonio Banederas was a surprise and lots of old characters with surprise appearance. This movie made me think positive about Hollywood that they still Respect the Old Stars Who were once the Shinning Blue Diamonds 💎 of Hollywood. Thank you Hollywood.
I was scrolling to see if anyone else brought this up! A few years after Temple, not Raiders. Reminds me of the line from Jurassic Park about Disneyland opening in 1956. It was 1955. I take it as intentional by the writers to make Hammond ignorant, instead of their own.

He's trashed just like Luke Skywalker was trashed. His young female heir apparent will lecture him, scold him, and outdo him in everything. And she'll be righteous as god the whole time. Disney doesn't make movies anymore; it just shoves THE MESSAGE down our throats.
It would be laughable if not for the fact that Hollywood's edict, the "30 percent rule" (what I'm calling it) seems to steer us even closer to "1984" (the book, not the year). And for those of you who do not recognize that title, I would recommend reading that. Soon.
Hollywood has gone overboard. Latest has the Board of the Academy insisting that 30% of actors and film crews involved in making a movie be 'underrepresented minorities' The penalty for not complying with this latest bit of racism is that the movie will not be eligible for academy award consideration. No more artistic or technical license.
Haven't been to the movies in a long time. And most of Hollywood seems to be woke, so it follows that a lot of what comes out of there has some degree of woke in it.
Hollywood screw up when Harrison was young and they should make more Indiana movies at that time not when he bacome old !!!! You lost 30+ years and you could get billions $ !!!!
It has been proven KathrynKennedy puts the skirts on classics. Disney need to fire and sue her. Then remake Star Wars and Indy. Without her but with her money. Call her movies the K.K. disasters

In 1969 Jones has a dream where he is back in World War 2 with some Nazis. When he wakes up he finds that he is in a world where it doesn't matter what time it is.
@@bambifairy235 Sure, he took the money knowing the movie would suck and fans would spend hard earned money to be subject to Disney's woke agenda. Similar to what he did with his last Star Wars appearance. Totally professional right? LOL
This is a trailer for a cinematic disaster in the making that is currently $150,000,000 over budget because of Katherine Kennedy woke histrionics! And since when did Indiana Jones need a 'god-daughter' for a sidekick/sideswipe? Phoebe Waller Bridge? Don't make the universe laugh!
And whatever happened to his son? Do they address that? I think this will be another train wreck but I guess I'll give it a try - though I'll have to leave all reality at the door
Remember folks, it's only a fantasy movie i.e., it's phony. I mean who would wear a heavy jacket in a jungle? Use a whip in that type of profession? Then fight gangsters. It's ONLY a movie kid!
There are 4 Star Wars films, the original trilogy and then the masterpiece of Rogue one came in as number 4, or 1 in order. There were only 2 Indy films as The Last Crusade sucked pretty much as bad as Crystal Skull when compared to the original masterpieces of cinema. I have no faith in this next part.
We were completely surprised that they could pull off the movie in good fashion! ... it does credit quality as the first original and more..... it far surpassed what critics downplayed . I easily rate this at five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
They should have let go of Harrison Ford he has done so much for HAN SOLO and INDIANA JONES Disney won't let him better if they just create a prequel for Indy and new cast as young Indy ford has done enough.
They screwed up the ending. It's a punch, cut to black and then right there, at home. We want to see the journey back on the way. John Wick 4 was meaningless shot after shot, they were delaying it to make it to the three hour mark, so why is THIS LESS!? A two hour fourteen minute movie?! Saving you your money. This movie deserves spoilers.

Ford doesn’t care

Harrison Ford is the ONLY INDIANA JONES, ever!( child-hood flashbacks excluded... sigh)\
I can hardly wait!
Ngl very hyped for this movie. I didn’t hate Crystal Skull and I love Indy in general, so I’m hella down.
I thought Kurt Russell de-aged in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was alright 🤷🏻♂️
I admire Harrison Ford very much and Indiana Jones is my hero. People should respect him. It is hard work being Indiana Jones.
Hasn't done anything worth watching in 20 years
How do you know 🤔

@@trescatorce9497- I have to agree
I will always think of John Rhys-Davies as Sallah, friend of Indiana Jones. I never watched the Lord of the Rings movies, and I never plan to.
I assume that Marion has passed away. I personally am more interested in her story than in their son Mutt.
The End.
Indiana Jones, Dune Part 2 and Oppenheimer is the holy trinity I'm looking forward this year.
Exactly. Reasons to go to the cinema.
sadly i fell asleep during dune, but Oppenheimer looks good and dial of destiny too
Also mission impossible 7 and the killers of the flower moon
The Last Crusade took place in 1938, not 1939🤭
Right on.
I was scrolling to see if anyone else brought this up! A few years after Temple, not Raiders. Reminds me of the line from Jurassic Park about Disneyland opening in 1956. It was 1955. I take it as intentional by the writers to make Hammond ignorant, instead of their own.
I always wanted to see conan the Barbarian become king, or as king on the big screen. But a really good screenwriter who reads the book.
CAN HARDLY WAIT TO MISS IT.
INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DYSENTERY
It was good. You’re missing out!

The sad part about all of this is, Indy was already given the literal ride off into the sunset, then came Skull and it all turned to shit....imo
I want one more where Short Round is brought back as Indy's sidekick.
I'm just so upset Mutt has been killed and Marion was just seen 5 minutes! Those are true characters in the movie! Whats happened? Disney has messed up yet another childhood movie and all the characters ☹️☹️
Properly done young indiana jones movies need to happen.
I remember when they filmed some scenes for Indiana Jones in Greymouth.
Greymouth? South Island New Zealand?
Excellent recap and looking into the near future😊. But yet to watch it. I am told it b almost bombed at the Box Office. Sad. Though not missing !

Soon.
Worth to watch this movie?
Love his movies
dial of destiny is a way to erase crystal skull
It doesn’t matter. If they erase crystal skull they made it exist. We can still watch it.
I’ve got all the DVD’s of Indiana Jones and love them all. But was a little disappointed in the latest one.
I am on the fence about seeing this movie. There is way to much woke BS in movies today.
my gut feeling hahah i would love to like but maybe one original movie is enough
@@johnnitis228 I would rather have a movie that made money, than woke bullshit.
Haven't been to the movies in a long time. And most of Hollywood seems to be woke, so it follows that a lot of what comes out of there has some degree of woke in it.
Yeah ime almost afraid I will not like it due to something of the woke narrative Disney's full of it now sadly
At $15+ for a ticket I won't be going to a movie theater any time soon
Hollywood screw up when Harrison was young and they should make more Indiana movies at that time not when he bacome old !!!! You lost 30+ years and you could get billions $ !!!!

Harrison Ford has no respect for the part...so why should we.
Where do you get that? I think he's very professional
@@bambifairy235 Sure, he took the money knowing the movie would suck and fans would spend hard earned money to be subject to Disney's woke agenda. Similar to what he did with his last Star Wars appearance. Totally professional right? LOL

I'm glad the internet for faster.

How will Indy keep it all together while fighting gravity throughout him making Pile of Destiny? Depends...
They should have let go of Harrison Ford he has done so much for HAN SOLO and INDIANA JONES Disney won't let him better if they just create a prequel for Indy and new cast as young Indy ford has done enough.
was hesitant because they used a writer from the crystal turd....but reviews say decent film
Who knows? I may catch it, Harrison.
