    I don't think the Kings are regretting the Haliburton trade right now, based on the fact that Hali would probably still be playing off the bench, when they clearly needed an All Star big.

    Trading Halliburton was in no way a bad move for the kings… Sabonis is playing at an all star level and has unlocked De’Aaron to play winning basketball as well! Buddy Hield was also toxic for the team and needed to go! This is what you call a winning trade for pacers and kings not a loss for anyone at all…

    • @Martin_3030_
      @Martin_3030_ Год назад +4

      Yes it was a great trade for both teams overall. There was a reason they were traded. They all unlocked there potential such as fox and sabonis and Tyrese and Buddy. If not for the trade for the kings, they would’ve probably still be a stagnant team and perhaps not be playoff contenders.

      @@bonanimathambo8721 they’ve always wanted to build around Fox. His numbers had dipped playing with Hali as they were both ball dominant guards. They at first chose they wanted to rebuild with Hali as the star and shop Fox. However since his numbers dipped they couldn’t find anyone to take Fox. They shopped Hali instead and got Sabonis who is playing amazing for Sac. A mini Jokic. People act like the Kings completely lost three years down the road but Fox is 25 and Sabonis is 26. They have just as much of a window and have set themselves up to win now. They are the best offense in the league up there with the Celtics and are firmly in the place hung and one of the more dangerous teams in the West this year. While Hali also has upside and he’s definitely and all star the pacers will need to put the right players around him. The Packers are having a decent season but they will need to resign Turner and maybe sign another star to pair with Hali unless they want to wait on Mathurin to develop even more into the second option. Buddy Hield as your second option is not going to work, just ask the Kings. The trade was also to get rid of Buddy’s massively overpaid contract that’s truly what the deal was about was dumping that contract and the pacers were looking rebuild so they sent the Kings a two time all star. This narrative that the kings only have 3 good years is a joke. 1) some of the good teams in the west from last year are falling apart (Suns, Warriors, Lakers, Clippers) just look at the standings. The Kings have a solid 5-6 years to get this right. A lot more than people think. Both teams won this trade. I believe when he retires Hali will be one of the top 5 greatest point guards of all time if it goes right. I believe the Kings are super underrated since they’ve been losing for so long but this trade put them back in the fold and they should get their respect and recognition as much as Hali does.

Sabonis has played like an all star and he is going to sign an extension with the kings. so what are the kings missing out on bruh yours takes are nonsensical and you dont think things thru enough. Sabonis is giving you scoring as much as Haliburton and he is giving you almost the same amount of assist if you consider usage rates. Sabonis is one of the leaders in the league in rebounds. The kings have shooting because i know that's what you'll say the Kings are missing out of in Haliburton, but Sabonis is actually shooting better from 3 points then Haliburton (not as many attempts but still). We weren't winning with Halburton and now we are mainly because of Monte McNair. I'll take Fox over haliburton all day(Fox is leader in clutch points).....only thing that does suck about losing him is his contract. As a Kings Fan I initially hated the Sabonis trade since I didn’t think the fit would work and would bring results + Haliburton is just such a good player. The only issue with Haliburton was the roster. Fox, Haliburton and Barnes were basically doing it all until Fox got injured that season. Even with Haliburton averaging over 20 point double doubles, they weren’t winning. Bagley never had and still hasn’t panned out and the rest of the roster needed change. You could say it was all the coaching and if they held out and waited to get Mike Brown it would’ve worked out but I think it was a great trade for both teams. Haliburton has only gotten better and it’s great to see but the Kings with Fox and Sabonis have done well and both franchises have a good future with their rosters.

    It's crazy how shortsighted teams are, and how much they've flip flopped on their stance regarding picks. Remember when Paul George got traded to OKC for just Victor Oladipo and a sophomore Domantas Sabonis and zero picks, only to be traded to the clippers a couple years later for sophomore SGA and like 7 picks. It's like these teams just forget what the market should be, and just go based off trends of what the rest of the league is doing. Smart teams are squeezing picks out of these dumber organizations just because they've artificially inflated the value of players and deflated the value of picks.

    Strongly disagree about the Kings regretting trading Haliburton. The team is in a much better place than they have been in the past 16 years. We're currently 4th in the western conference standings and have a big man that's a walking triple double. Fox is playing out of his mind because Haliburton and him didn't fit together. Buddy Heild and Haliburton were major defensive liabilities. I'm happy that they are doing well in Indy though but trust me the kings don't regret the trade.... win win trade

    I think it's too early to say the Kings "regret" trading away Haliburton. Kings ultimately made a win now move, and it has greatly benefitted their team in the current moment. Just because the Pacers got the better player and better value, doesn't mean the Kings "lost", considering both teams have improved since making the move.

    • @shorewall

      Look at this video. A Trade isn't just for one year. It's permanent. In five years, the Kings will wish they had Haliburton. But for now, their expectations have been so low that just making the playoffs is seen as a win. Never mind that making the playoffs with no hope of winning the Championship is the worst place to be.
      Oh well, if Kings fans are happy, that's what's important. But it doesn't change that it was an objectively bad trade as measured by value. Bulls fans were happy to get Vucevic, especially since they feel it let them sign Derozan. But now how do they feel? :D

      @@darrengordon-hill Most teams aren't the Sacramento Kings. In five years, when you are getting bounced in the playoffs every year, or trying to make the Play-In, and Haliburton is making All Star Teams for another team, the new reality will set in. Winning Championships is great. Losing in the Playoffs isn't.
      It's not my fault that the Kings have been a terribly run organization. It's just something that Kings fans gotta live with, and take the fleeting happiness where they can.

    Kings trade was fine. They had to decide if they wanted to try to contend with DeAron or build around Tyrese. DeAron is loyal to the Kings which not many players would be with his talent. They got a good enough bench, Buddy Hield can shoot, and Sabonis is a good fit. Both teams won that trade

      Then again, they drafted Bagley instead of Luka, so they ain't winning nothing. The organization is bad, and has been bad. Making the Playoffs don't change that. At least it will give the Kings fans something to cheer for.
