I've been away from the project for a while. Here's an update with what's been going on and what's in store for the future of the channel.

Hey man don’t know if you remember me or not but I was at the tig class with Bob Moffat and was really fascinated when I found out you were building an airplane. Glad to see you’re back and I’m glad things are going good for you. Look forward to what you have in store for your channel.

Nice to see you back Greg. The mild Winter forecast just went down the toilet for sure. 17 below this morning. Work on my Sonex won't be resuming until spring. Fly that Cessna down to my strip by Howard City this summer or meet me for breakfast sometime. I usually meet another guy from Cadillac once a week either in Mecosta or Evart weather permitting for Ultralights. He flies a Kolb also. Big Rapids has a free lunch every Saturday rain or shine.
We were 12 below here in the Lansing area this morning! I'd love to fly over sometime. Mecosta and Ojibwa are on my list for this year! My Cessna shares a hangar with a Firefly and an Ercoupe.

I thought about it. I'm currently leaning toward a natural gas furnace that will keep the shop at no lower than 45-50. I would turn it up to 60-65 to work out there. Currently, it's 22 degrees in there.
Glad to see a new video from you. What state do you live in that your having trouble heating the garage?
Michigan. I need to install a thermostat-controlled furnace that keeps it warmish all that time, so I can just dial it up by 15-20 degrees when I want to work out there. It just takes too long to heat it up if it's been cold soaking.
Greg, what are you up to now? Everything OK?

Doing okay. Thanks for the inquiry. Project has been on hold for a while. Hoping to restart it in the next year or so. Unfortunately, life has taken some unexpected turns since my last video.

Glad to hear you have not given up on the project. Have to tried taking the sd card with your video to a data recovery service? If you know someone that is familiar with linux and disk commands, they might be able to stream the data off the card as well.
haven't give up yet, anyway 😀. The card had an internal short and basically burned up. I ran some command prompt level utilities and spoke with some folks familiar with data recovery. We were only able to get about 30% of the footage off the card.

Thank you. I've got to get shop heat sorted out for next winter...smoked myself out this weekend after a problem with my kerosene heater.
good to see you back, I recommend your videos to any scratch builder I run into of all aircraft types.
Hi I have been going through ur videos and they are amazing and filled with lot of information which is very helpful for new builders. I my self planning to scratch build zenith 750 and was doing research before I buy blue prints from zenith. I was trying to figure out the international shipping cost for the aluminium but unfortunately could not find the required number of sheets and extrusion prices required for the built. I would really appreciate if you could help me with the material list.

Hi, thanks for watching! There is no published materials list for the 750. As editions of the drawings/aircraft change, so do the required materials. Significant changes were made between the Edition 2 and 3 plans. A while ago, someone on the Zenith.Aero group put together an Edition 2 materials list for reference but this would not be accurate for a current version of the blueprints. Thanks for the reply. Pls correct me if I am wrong so zenith does not tell you the material requirement when one buys the plans. I mean if now I purchase the latest edition plans would there be a list of required aluminium sheets along with the thickness.
@@captavsgill5960 That is correct. Zenith is primarily a kit manufacturer, so they don't provide materials lists to scratch builders. They support scratchbuilders with parts and blueprints and whatnot, but they do not provide a list of raw materials.
