Rheindahlen, JHQ Aug 2017 Part two of two NorthEast

JHQ Rheindahlen closed in 2013 and there has been very limited access to the camp ever since. I decided to get a few videos before the camp is lost for good. This one starts in the NorthEast of the camp and covers Salmond house, St Andrew's school, St Patrick's school, the Big house, riding club and stables, main naafi and the surrounding quarters. There is no soundtrack as I didn't want to render the 4k footage.

Many thousands of service personnel must have passed through this camp .I am amazed so few ,if any remarks concerning the scandalous neglect of this site have been voiced Always thought the German authorities would have been quick to 'cash in 'here and promote good industrial /domestic use for what appears to be a 'no expense spared' development. Seems to be very little information available. I find the situation beggers belief. Would be interesting to get some feedback from my comment. What do the local people think?There must be somebody on the ground out there that can conduct some research. Come on .....get with it!

I served in the NL Signal Squadron from January 1974 to August 1979. It was a great time, indeed in a world much different than the one we live in now and w’ll never get it back again. Greats to all the people of NL Signal Squadron, 13 TTR, 28 Signal Squadron and 840 Fernmelde Bataljon.
