Do you remember when Coko of SWV had those extremely long nails back in the '90s? Having the craziest nails designs may have been in style when she was singing "Weak" and other popular R&B hits but times have changed. Now that SWV is back on the scene with their new reality show, "SWV Reunited" on WE tv, we couldn't help but talk to the singer about why she decided to grow her nails so long and what made her eventually cut them as well as her favorite nail polish brands. I don’t peg her as a liar, and I have seen natural ridiculously long nails in person. They are usually brittle, weak[ish]/vulnerable, and kind of “witchy” in the gnarled way. Usually an acrylic powder and gel is used to cover/secure and strengthen. Similar to some women with naturally long hair being protected under wigs. 🤷🏽♀️ Idk, but I always side-eyed them, too. 👀😏
LOL, I think if she’d mention the acrylic coating folks would understand/believe her more. Or you know like we used to do back in the day... do the reveal (turn palms upward to show your own nailline). 😁😉🙃

‼️Even though acrylic was on top of her nails it was still her REAL nails underneath. My nails are 1/3 of how long Coko’s was and if I was to soak the acrylic off, it will be my real nails underneath. They didn’t make fake nails that long back in the day like they do now, so in order to get that look she had to grow her nails out. I enjoy seeing all the ladies with their extra long nails these days like Saweetie and Cardi B, because I always think of the person who started that trend. 💜
