The tapestry pillow with the birds reminds me of the British Colonial style. It uses a lot of palm trees, bamboo furniture and vintage classic English dark wood pieces with elegant lines. I love that look! Cool pillow!

I believe she is describing the edging or flat trim around the outside of a pillow, etc. It's a decorative element attached to the seam. Hope that is what you're looking for.
