- A chief instructor with the Marine Raider Training Center provides information on the Multi-Discipline Intelligence Operator Course at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Sept. 14, 2022. MDIOC is a 14-week course, designed to cross train Marines in multiple intelligence disciplines with a focus on their respective Special Operations Capabilities Specialist designation. This course, along with Special Operations Force Fundamentals and Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape, are required for a Marine to certify as an Intelligence SOCS. Anyone on active duty wanting to go SF route, just do it. Or at least try! I was a FMF Corpsman and since day one wanted to try out for SEALs or a SARC, but let my fear of water and lack of maturity stop me. Although I'm proud I served in the capacity I did, 15 years later I still regret heavily, not even trying to some degree. Believe you me, trying and failing is better than the lifetime regret for not trying at all.
