Ranking The Yakuza Video Games (Tier Style!)

- Time to break down my favorite Yakuza games. After much debate, and fun times, and lots of cutscenes, I bring to you my ultimate list of the best and worst games of the franchise. Of course this is just my opinion, none are fact, but let's have fun shall we? Make sure to list yours below!

Man I'm surprised to hear somebody who loves the series doesnt like the minigames, thats like my favourite part theres so much minigames. I guess people enjoy the series for different reasons. When i think of yakuza i think of batting cages, virutua fighter, drone racing, slot car racing, fishing, koi koi, karokee, ect.
For sure, can see why people would love that. For me it's the characters and story that drive most of my like to the series.
interesting pick for 3, but hey, i respect it.
I think 3 hit me because played it years after 1, and the emotional beats hit well for me. I dunno if I'd feel the same today!

Idk, for IW I didn't like dondoko island and sujimon was a chore to get through. Hawaii was a nice change of pace but that doesn't make up for the horrible pacing of the story. Plus, the ending didn't do it for me at all. And this is coming from a guy who loved 7. I'd put IW in B tier but if I was generous i'd throw it in A.
The pacing bothered me too. Any time it started to get interesting again, the chapter would end and it would switch primary character. Plus I didn't care for any of the villains and the ending barely gave us anything. My thoughts overall were that the entire game basically accomplished nothing other than Kiryu getting to randomly drop the Joryu name.
@urd seeing Yakuza 0 which is known for the greatest fighting styles, best mini games and probably one of the best storylines in the entire franchise below infinite wealth in this guy's tier list threw me for a loop lol.
Surprised to hear someone didn't like dondoko island I thought that was really fun. Sujimon league was kinda eh for me to just cause how barebones it was

I'd put 2 higher personally and actually liked the plot. I thought a lot of people didn't like Yakuza 3 too, but hey - tier lists are no fun if you agree with absolutely everything - Fun tier list. I thought I could never get behind the Like a Dragon combat playstyle, but man did Infinite Wealth improve so many things.
Infinite Wealth so dang fun! Def one of my favorites of the year so far.
yong yea voice work in infinite wealth is making the game a chore to play in english. i didnt think it was gonna be that bad but jesus christ. i played 7 before IW came out so i was caught off guard how much of a dork his character became in two games
I think he's alright. I've never been a major fan of the main lead, despite people thinking I'm crazy (Ichiban is so much better IMO) but I thought he did alright in IW. Comes across similar monotone feel of the Japanese voice actor.
Kiryu was always a Dork, or atleast just a really goofy dude.
@@ratt__mann9220 I never played the other games I played like a dragon and he was literally badass in human form In that game. RUclips his scenes. I went from that to yong yea and it was jarring. He had zero confidence in his voice work and it shows.
@@UltimateChance like I told the other guy I didn't play the other games I played 7 and IW back to back. He wasn't monotone nor a dork like he is in IW. I was completely caught off guard when he started talking especially after his Im that dragon speech in part 7
Ryuji is the best final boss in Yakuza for me,I think i will put Y2 higher
I think for me Y7 is my favorite but infinite wealth is so close behind but nice list!

Hearing you talk about Like a Dragon makes me really excited to get to it at some point. For me my list is fairly similar of the ones ive played so far.
S - Yakuza 0
A - Yakuza 3
B - Yakuza Kiwami 2 for its gameplay
C - Yakuza Kiwami
D - Yakuza 4, Yakuza 5
I think once i start playing the judgement games ill really enjoy those as well since im still down for the beat em up style gameplay. Its just the story really really lost me in Yakuza 4 and 5. Especially 5 since its the only one so far i decided to simply not finish, i loved Kiryu's chapters but everything else just couldnt give two shits about and it doesnt help that its the longest yakuza game of the 6 ive played as well.
Great video, I’m glad to see someone giving three the respect it deserves. I was taken back by it when I first played it because I played the two remastered games, and then playing that was like running into a brick wall, but the story was so good.
Surprised you don’t like Two, Goda is such an iconic villain that gets referenced multiple times throughout the series, definitely one of the most memorable. Like who even is the main antagonist of three or four? No idea but I clearly remember Goda.
3 main villain was a pos who killed my boi, so that's why I remember him haha. But yeah 4s is very forgettable!

Yeah Ishin did nothing for me at all. I tried my best but I just couldn't bother finishing it. But I'm glad a lot of people dug it!!!

Felt very dry and overly serious and combat felt bland.
