How to Build a DIY Cat Tree - My mother-in-law recently rescued a cat, and she asked ifI could make her a cat tree. I thought that sounded like a fun challenge, so I said I would be happy to. I made it from a branch I found in the woods, and with nothing but scrap materials from around the barn and house.

Thanks so much for the lag bolt tip! How tall is this sucker? Is there a max height where you feel it would no longer be sturdy with just a lag screw? I can't stand the look of cat towers unless they're natural branch, but feel the customs are pretty spendy so I'm exploring my DIY options currently :)

It's about waist height, I would now go much taller with just one bolt

I grew up with a carpenter/contractor dad and now that I’m finally in a non-tiny apartment I’m slowly collecting all the power tools I’ve always dreamed of having.
