As a real French who studied English at college I have to say that this translation is amazing even a French would translate this as well as Hugh Laurie ! And his accent is definitely breathtaking!!!

And then he translated a whole phrase ("literally hundreds... to meager list of just five") into just "poof, cinq". Otherwise, his French is superb. I simply adore Hugh Laurie!
There's not much point in explaining the peformance to non french-speakers in a langauge they can't understand. But for those who are interested, Hugh's french in that performance was almost perfect, except to say he skipped all the hard parts.
There's an episode of House that Hugh has to say some words in br portuguese. It was so cool, I don't know why do we get so exited when these things happen haha
