You can take the MPW lower and the DPMS upper and put them together for an AR buttstock on your DPMS and you can unscrew the flash hider on the DPMS and put on a muzzle or fake suppressor for a realistic AR-15 look for your DPMS. Hope this was helpful
This does help!! I've been looking into getting a suppressor before mine gets shipped to me, I've gotten a 4x32 crossbow scope and a canted red dot. Aswell as a foregrip. Do you know what kind of suppressor fitting it takes?
It's a great rifle, they just had issues out of the box with the blowback seal which is improved now. I had to exchange my original...if I had no issues out of the box it would have been rated higher not to mention the bolt lock-back in the warmer weather. I love these rifles and would consider a must have. They also have the R1 and then add the new RRM mag and wow! Thank you for tuning in and I appreciate your comments 😊
@@WyattL130 I have not had any issues with the Daisy zink BBs. They are much cleaner than the Crosman BB's and they don't rust as easy if they land in my pool 😉
Matt, they are a lot of fun and your timing is perfect. Summer is the best time for shooting Co2 powered airguns. I am going to put a series together, "Co2 Summer" and feature several different styles of Co2 powered airguns. 👍😉
This is so cool, when I was a kid my first BB gun was Red Rider and the next one was lever action it looked like 1870 Henry I can’t remember the name of it but that rifle was my first rifle the BB gun then I graduated to the marines ten years later they gave me the M14...
I have the DPMS and if you're even considering buying either of these guns...do it. Mines been 100 percent reliable, very accurate for a bb gun and more powerful than I expected. Keep in mind it's just a fun plinker and nothing more but it's a blast blowing up bottles and cans on full auto. I've shot just about every firearm imaginable and these are absolutely worth the money. The flip up sights are pretty bad but for $20 you can get a decent little red dot and let the fun begin. They really feel like you're holding an AR and have a very satisfying full auto sound.
@WypipoFault I think it would shoot that far but you'd have to aim a lot higher to account for the bb dropping and it wouldn't hit very hard at that distance. The bbs seem to run out of steam pretty quick after about 20 yards or so but inside that distance it hits fairly hard
@WypipoFault I think it would be worth it, if nothing else I can promise you'd have fun with it but it does suck that the spare mags are so expensive. The controls are the same as an AR though and the weight is also about the same plus it can be fired on semi auto like an AR. I've had mine since December and it's still working great and never had a problem
Awesome Video JC! I bought the DPMS in Dec 2018. It's my favorite BB shooter. What's even more astounding is the accuracy out to 20 yards. I took mine out to the range last month and tested it at 10, 15, and 20 yards to see how the group sizes would be. Just like your vid, I was getting 5 shot groups just under an inch at 10 yards. At 15 yards, the groups would spread out to 1 to 1.5 inches. At 20 yards, I was attaining 1.5 to 2 inch groups. Pretty impressive with a smooth bore barrel. After putting 5,000 plus rounds through this plinker, the metal plate that is on the bolt catch arm that catches and stops the bolt on the last BB snapped and broke in half. Without the protective metal plate, my bolt catch arm is worn down from the impact of the bolt slamming forward. I tried ordering the part and contacting Crosman, but the representative stated that certain parts are not available as of yet. They don't even have an exploded parts diagram yet. When I shoot the DPMS now, I make sure to push the bolt catch paddle in on the last shot so that the bolt will not lock back as I don't want to cause more damage to the arm. I look forward to your future videos. Your reviews are thorough and informative.
Thanks for watching! They are very addictive little guns and I like hearing your experience. I hope to feature a wide variety. I am trying to put out at least one video every week.
I purchased the DPMS several months ago and absolutely love it! Now I have 3 friends that have also purchased them and we were out plinking a couple weeks ago. A conversation was started concerning magazine capacity. With the way these are flying off the shelves, I’m sure that we aren’t the only ones who are asking about this. Looking at it, I’m sure there is an easy way to make a double stack mag or more. I figured I’d ask here since this is a detectives channel. Just wondering if maybe you or your viewers have heard anything about that. Thank you for the great content!

You can Pull the spring down then push it to the side and it’ll lock back so you can load the BB’s. Also the speed loader has a special piece that fits down right in front of where the piece locks in place on the magazine so the BBs go directly into the magazine

Speed loader works great - if you’re patient that is. DPMS is the best choice of the two ( my choice). I scoped it and amazed at the accuracy for a BB gun. Good vid in all.
I just got the R1 which looks nearly identical to the MPW (my imitation flash suppressor is a Birdcage/slotted type) and on it the safety is engaged when the select lever is point rearward, semi-auto is when the select lever is pointing down and full-auto is when the select lever is point forward. Thanks for the great review and especially the Amazon link. I've tried buying the DPMS this past week and the order was always flagged with a message to the affect that it could not be shipped to my region (California). For whatever reason, your link let me get past that barrier and saved me about 30 bucks since my other options were online airgun specialty stores.
@@AirgunDetectives It came really early this morning! It's a Xmas present for my wife. No, seriously. It really is. The red dot is scheduled for tomorrow. Already have plenty of BBs and CO2 for our 1911 BB pistol. I'll zero the SBR durning the early hours of Sunday morning when she's asleep, put back in the box, and then wrap it. I think going through a minimum of 5-8 mags during the zeroing process should get the job done. Certainly no more than 10 mags...or 11. 😉 Seriously though, thanks again. You saved me 38 bucks!
Really, really good video. One thing that you could add that would help us NewBees, and help you to grow your channel would be for you to show how to setup the gun from scratch. THAT was what I was looking for. I know a lot of new gun owners that are overwhelmed with the setup process.
Great review. My dpms will be here on Saturday. I have to rid my yard of a bunch of invasive lizards and poisonous toads my dog keeps getting ahold of.
I like the stock possibilities for the Bushmaster and didn't like the Handstop or Full length picatinny handguard or the stock and inability to switch out to something different on the DPMS so I got the Bushmaster. Also in my area of the country the Bushmaster is hard to get but the DPMS is practically everywhere so that might mean something... just got to get a better red dot but you managed to get similar grouping with both just one higher and one lower and I think the difference in velocity is due to the barrel length but it really looks like the only difference is how much of it is covered and by what as far as barrels.
I was going to mention, I wouldn’t recommend to rest the gun on the magazine, it might lose seal between the gun and the magazine and you will get lower readings of FPS. I would also recommend using some low viscosity silicone airsoft oil to clean out the barrel every now and again. The silicone oil will lubricate the inner barrel without attracting dirt and dust and clean out any dust and dirt out of the barrel that will build up from the bbs. Also a little drop of oil down the magazine, where you load the bbs keeps the hop up and spring lubricated. Co2 tends to dry out rubber seals to and silicone oil helps to keep them soft. DON’T USE WD-40, very dirty and acidic oil, can damage seals. SILICONE OIL OR NOTHING FOR AIRGUNS. I own Airsoft guns and bb/pellet guns.
Came across this video today and this is the best review video I’ve ever seen !!!! Just subscribed !!! But I have a question, does the metal BB’s damage the gun ? I did some research and according to google , it does damage the inside of the gun. Is this true ?!?
Welcome aboard 😉 These rifles are specifically designed to shoot steel BB's. I prefer the zinc coated BB's because they are cleaner. But steel BB's do not damage the gun.👍
Very cool just purchase one, in my case only my second air rifle, getting old going to range spending a lot more money on the bigger toys. So getting close to retire and man these air gun fill in the gap for me. Like you mentioned, just walk out in my back yard and have a whole lot of fun and not broke same time. Thanks keep up the good work.
I live in Ca and heat should not be a feeding issue. I used a hair dryer to two CO2 canisters and took them over 90 degrees. The rifle shot much better with semi automatic.
Hearing a grown man explain air guns is the most entertaining comedy I have ever seen. This is better than seeing a Kevin hart movie. Bless you heart, someone help pay for this man to get him some 🐈
I just got my DPMS SBR. Love it. Thank's for the review. Have you heard of when Crosman will start selling their new QR mags with their 300 bb capacity and "pullstrap" bb loader? Thank's!
Have you had any Magazine Problems yet? Crosmam just sent me a new mag for my SBR because the original one had the nozzle issue that so many others have experienced. I also purchased 4 extra mags from Midway. With my Birthday pricing they were $37.50 ea. Which I thought was a excellent price considering Amazon wanted $55 ea.
I Bought the DPMS SBR, in Black, I have a Bushnell TRS-25 Red dot. This is to take care of Ground squirrels, as there are many around me and they are a big problem and do a Lot of $$$ damage $$$ I Picked mine up from Pyramid air on Pre-black Friday sale for $149.99 Free shipping. Also for taking care of those pesky Cans that can get out of control. I see a lot of Videos of people shooting BB guns, BB's Ricochet Like crazy, when I was a kid my friend accidentally shot his Mom in the eye, she was 15 feet to the left of him, and 30 feet Back from the wall, doing her own thing and a Ricochet got her in the eye. She was in Bad shape for quite some time, a few to several weeks as the eye is very soft and liquidy. One ricochet can ruin your Year or the rest of your life if the eye is permanently damaged. Eye patches are a cool look though. If a range is Hot, then everyone at/near the range, even people behind the shooter should have eye protection or Dont shoot until they do.
Great video as usual. Does the trigger pull lighten up after a few thousand rounds? Mine is a little stiff. I had a good experience with the speed loader, used Daisy steel BBs, no problem.
I just ordered one of these from pyramydair for $161 free shipping 🙂 I figured it would crony at about 500 feet per second which would make it ideal for plinking or close range pest control, glad to add it to my collection 💙
This is a wet dream for older baby boomers that grew up with those lever action BB guns. (I told an old buddy about these, and he immediately bought one.) As a prepubescent boy, I did, however, take small game with those old BB guns--birds. And they were guns--no rifling. This one's everything we wished those old ones had been. In the video, you called it a gun and then a rifle. Is the barrel rifled? I imagine the next generation with higher capacity and those big bottles of gas like we see on pellet guns. Something where you could dump one hundred BBs in about four seconds. Don't let your kids play with these without some serious small arms training and supervision and, importantly, eye protection. BBs bounce like crazy and are known for taking out kids eyes. They are not firearms, but, make no mistake, they are not toys. You can take small game with these.
Yes and no, Yes because part of it is me because I think it's important for him to learn to shoot, to learn a skill that could be useful to him someday, and, No because I hunted with my Dad because I wanted too and used a pellet gun, but if he's not interested right now, he may be someday, he's kind of on the fence about one, he's into gaming, but he's only six :-) I had some bad experiences with my Red Rider, I was the kid that shot his eye out, lol. We use to have bb guns wars as kids as well. I wanted to hunt so I used the pellet gun, it stuck and went through, it didn't bounce back. Now that have Dust Devils, I haven't used them, but I really like the idea.
You really need to show us if both CO2 cartridges actually emptied. I have 3 magazines and none of them actually work correctly. Meaning it only uses the cartridge on the left. And when I go to replace the left cartridge, the one on the right side gasses out. At that point its useless to change the right side one and just replace the left one, and leave an empty one in the right side. I have a solution though. I plan on marketing it to users of the DPMS SBR. It not only corrects for and eliminates the C02, But is also upgrades the unit to 1100 psi PCP air (vs 900 psi CO2). Its a great adaptor. Easy to install, and upgrades to 13 cubic inches of air. Now it really cranks.........I plan on launching sales sometime in 2024 or early 2025. I still need to work out a few logistics first, and launch the LLC. I figure there are around 1 - 2 million of these guns out there that need this mod.
AK1 is perfection, but I would not mind DPMS,MPW or A1 in full auto...I just use plain Jane open sights and can hit beer can at 10 meters,Soooo don't underestimate the accuracy,it's great. I shoot Daisy steel BBs but I would love to get some black diamonds...
They are actually the same rifle just different cosmetics. Take a look at the R9 as well. Can't go wrong with any. Also check out the Crosman AK. I did a review on that, one of my favorites!! ruclips.net/video/z1PIu5jvZnk/видео.html

Glad it worked out and thanks for watching 😉👍
@@AirgunDetectives It came really early this morning! It's a Xmas present for my wife. No, seriously. It really is. The red dot is scheduled for tomorrow. Already have plenty of BBs and CO2 for our 1911 BB pistol. I'll zero the SBR durning the early hours of Sunday morning when she's asleep, put back in the box, and then wrap it. I think going through a minimum of 5-8 mags during the zeroing process should get the job done. Certainly no more than 10 mags...or 11. 😉 Seriously though, thanks again. You saved me 38 bucks!
Thought it was funny when he demonstrated the speed loader
Just got my DPSM. Love it
Nice comparison, I saw another video on the SBR in my recommended list and it seemed pretty fun and that lead me over here. Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate you taking the time to leave comments!!
Every time I going to choose a new airgun for myself I make sure you already have a video of it to check your conclusions of it.
The DPMS looks like an HK416, really epic.
Shot my sons today and it is a blast. It made this grown up giggle.
Really, really good video. One thing that you could add that would help us NewBees, and help you to grow your channel would be for you to show how to setup the gun from scratch. THAT was what I was looking for. I know a lot of new gun owners that are overwhelmed with the setup process.
Great Point ...my sights are way off ...
Pretty self explanatory.... Maybe read the manual. Or a book on basic rifle sights, etc.
Great review. My dpms will be here on Saturday. I have to rid my yard of a bunch of invasive lizards and poisonous toads my dog keeps getting ahold of.
Awesome video! Love my DPMS and 300 round cartridge!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a great thorough review!
Joseph, Thanks for watching and I appreciate you taking the time to leave positive comments!!
My CA compliant fully automatic machine guns.💪🏻🇺🇸
I like the stock possibilities for the Bushmaster and didn't like the Handstop or Full length picatinny handguard or the stock and inability to switch out to something different on the DPMS so I got the Bushmaster. Also in my area of the country the Bushmaster is hard to get but the DPMS is practically everywhere so that might mean something... just got to get a better red dot but you managed to get similar grouping with both just one higher and one lower and I think the difference in velocity is due to the barrel length but it really looks like the only difference is how much of it is covered and by what as far as barrels.
Awesome editing man keep it up
Thank you for watching and we appreciate your comments 👍
I own Airsoft guns and bb/pellet guns.
thx for the tips. I`m new to this. I.Broke a 430 pistol in 2 mos. and just got a steel storm.
i used a little drop of pneumatic oil on the mpw because it was all we had on hand, but some of the crosman brand is otw
All BB's are Steel but they do coat some with copper and zinc to keep them from rusting
Thanks for watching Sal! Enjoy your new airgun 👍
I live in Ca and heat should not be a feeding issue. I used a hair dryer to two CO2 canisters and took them over 90 degrees. The rifle shot much better with semi automatic.
This was a great freaking video
I appreciate you watching! 👍😉
Which do you think is better
Good video. Had one. Loved it. Sold it. Miss it. Going to buy another one. Haha
I can't tell you how many times I have done that! With cars too!😉👍
the DPMS is a fat supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, beautiful luscious Win
Hearing a grown man explain air guns is the most entertaining comedy I have ever seen. This is better than seeing a Kevin hart movie. Bless you heart, someone help pay for this man to get him some 🐈
Excellent review . I’ll be picking mine up in a few weeks to TINK around the back yard… my other one ,neighbors would call the cops on me ! Hahaahah
Happy Shooting!!!
I just got my DPMS SBR. Love it. Thank's for the review. Have you heard of when Crosman will start selling their new QR mags with their 300 bb capacity and "pullstrap" bb loader? Thank's!
They are going to send me one to review. Production is way behind because of the virus. I will double check this week.
@@AirgunDetectives can you review KWC PT 92 this pistol similar with 9mm pistol 🥺🥺🥺
just check Google 🙂😷
Have you had any Magazine Problems yet? Crosmam just sent me a new mag for my SBR because the original one had the nozzle issue that so many others have experienced. I also purchased 4 extra mags from Midway. With my Birthday pricing they were $37.50 ea. Which I thought was a excellent price considering Amazon wanted $55 ea.
thank you for linking the red dot sight for the bushmaster. Where did you get your rubber fillers from?
Ebay...really inexpensive 👍
The bipods on mk18s and sbr m4 make me laugh
.....Great Video Air Gun Detective.....
Couldn't agree more we only have one set of eyes and we should do everything to protect them! Congratulations on your new gun!!
Good video ...these 2 are the main to compare for ars
Great video as usual. Does the trigger pull lighten up after a few thousand rounds? Mine is a little stiff. I had a good experience with the speed loader, used Daisy steel BBs, no problem.
Hi Ed, the trigger will smooth out a bit, but the weight will most likely remain. Thanks again for watching 👍
I just ordered one of these from pyramydair for $161 free shipping 🙂 I figured it would crony at about 500 feet per second which would make it ideal for plinking or close range pest control, glad to add it to my collection 💙
The Black Gun is what I was talking about.
Smooth bore, Steel BB 😉👍

Just picked one up today a DPMS haven't had a chance to fire it but your video pumped me up to fire thanks for your info and insight. #2ndamendment.
Great video, been thinking about getting my son a BB gun, one of these would be really nice.
Coco Drilo dddddddddddddd Edd
The black one has a longer barrel that why its shooting fast
Can you open up both rifles or only the bushmaster?
Yes...they function the same just some cosmetic differences 👍🏻😉
Super awesome job sir thanks for the info I'm waiting on my DPS now 🤠☮️
definitely a great tool for kids to use and practice with
As always top video mate. Thank you for the review.
I wish the dpms came with a detachable muzzle. Cuz that surpressor looking dope on that bushmaster.
Look at the "R1" 👍😉
That fake can is 14x1LH thread. Sound familiar ?
Great job of sharing your expertise
I got a Pinty red/green dot for my Steel Storm $30 shppd. It works for me, just plinking away.
Great vid, most my questions answered. Thx
Thanks for watching! Happy Shooting 👍
Try the Hornady black bbs
I am getting ready to buy another one. I had the DPMS before. Which one should I get? The Dpms is a little more accurate? Is that about it?
They are actually the same rifle just different cosmetics. Take a look at the R9 as well. Can't go wrong with any. Also check out the Crosman AK. I did a review on that, one of my favorites!! ruclips.net/video/z1PIu5jvZnk/видео.html
They deserve 5stars cmon!! Awesome vid though😎👍🏻
Can you do a video on the Crosman R1 compared to the Crosman A4P next? I think they are great to compare to each other.
Very informative and entertaining. Thank you very much 👍
I feel you neglected to include a fully automatic accuracy test.
Video is spot on , full Beans information ...personal choice towards the DPMS for range ....thks
I appreciate you watching!!👍
@@AirgunDetectives Just received my Crosman Bushamaster and DPMS ..your video convinced me to buy each the Bushmaster is solid tight and compact great fun ....

Can I attach a tracer unit on the DPMS SBR?
