  • In this video I explain how skewness in a sample may be caused by a floor or a ceiling effect, in which the measurement isn't able to capture variability at the low or high end of a population's distribution. A floor effect will result in a positively skewed sample, while a ceiling effect will result in a negatively skewed sample, even if the population is normally distributed.

Have you considered making videos of you reviewing new articles of psychology; the same way Anton Petrov (see his channel) reviews daily articles of astrophysics?: or is this not what you want to do because maybe you are busy with orher things?
I'm talking about the best way of reviewing articles which is... the way you have been teaching psychology in the videos with the library thumbnail: writing in a computer, 10 minute something videos.
In conclusion, you could make quality videos and grow this channel (it requires time from you though).

Thanks for the suggestion! I don't think I'll get to this soon, but I have considered some specific research videos for higher level topics. Maybe I can incorporate this into some future statistics videos and use examples from actual research for practicing statistical tests and analysis.

Hello sir. Brilliant content. You mentioned in a reply a while back an interactive brain model on some website for learning more about neuroscience. Do you recall what the website is? I remember checking it out and it was amazing

Thanks! There's a great interactive brain model with information about different structures here: www.brainfacts.org/3D-Brain

Seems the text might not be working properly on the previous link I've posted, this site also has an interactive model with more detail and links to resources for each structure: www.g2conline.org/3dbrain/

@@PsychExamReview Thank you so much sir. I’m writing a series of dialogues about the nature of beauty in the context of the hero’s relationship with art.
I went so far to the left into poetry, art history, and ancient virtue ethics, that it’s now time to switch gears and get into the hard science of the brain and universe to bring the project home.
Studying the science of emotions has been incredibly rewarding the last couple weeks. I love it.
If you have any recs on ideas having to do with the psychology of inspiration. I’m super interested in learning more about the cognitive science, personality, and social psychology of how the experience of beauty grabs, enchants, and uplifts the hero / individual / subject / to go on a new journey of self discovery and self creation.
I came across Thrash and Elliot’s research on inspiration and how these experiences with beauty transform the individual. Acting as a sort of call to action by awakening the current self to the dream self.
Gonna start there and see where the algorithm takes me 🤓

@@Dino_Medici This sounds great and I hope it takes you to some interesting places. I don't have a lot of background in this area so I don't have many specific recommendations. Since you mentioned emotion, I've enjoyed reading Lisa Feldman Barrett's work, as well as Joseph LeDoux's if you haven't read those yet. You might also look into research on "awe" that you might find relevant if you haven't already come across it. Enjoy the journey!

@@PsychExamReview Thank you so much sir! This will been incredibly helpful. Turns out Jonathan Haidt wrote one of the founding papers on “awe.” I’m gonna dive in today 🤓
