Kevin Durant agreed to stay with the Brooklyn Nets after months of demanding a trade but reports are saying the Nets tricked KD into staying. The way they did it is genius and this is a look behind the scenes at how Brooklyn pulled off their plan.

You know, since we’re deep in the off-season, a good subject vid might be another deep dive into the Woj situation, but one thing I haven’t seen (not saying it’s not out there, I’m just saying I haven’t seen it) is an explanation or exploration on exactly who and why at the Worldwide Leader gives Woj that much power to make that call to kill or fill a story. I know there’s been a lot of talk about how tied Woj is these guys, but I think fertile ground would be The Who’s and why’s at how Woj just gets to make that call.

    • @demetriuscolburn252

Woj has a "source" within the league... I'm pretty sure it's someone in the league office, fairly high up the corporate ladder, where marketing & parity decisions are made; likely have a hand in who goes where & when, which influences betting odds (real money maker)... In short, Woj is a shill for the league to market storylines that temper consumer perception of talent/ competition & minimize losses for the forces that regulate gambling

As a Raptors fan, I was disappointed when he said the Raptors were "lurking" in the background in the KD trade scenarios. The NBA is an association of 30 NBA teams competing for a prize. Each team should get fair and unbiased media coverage. As a Raptors fan, we don't get that (and I'm aware that many small market teams don't get that either). ESPN/Disney exposed itself as over the last season or two as simply a PR partner for the NBA, and has lost all meaningful credibility as a "news" outlet (check out the Woj contract!), and these guys are stepping up to fill the void with a broader view of the whole picture. I actually agree with your assessment and now perhaps you can understand why the players show no loyalty to a franchise because it is business. So when a player acts in his own best interest owners really have no beef. Players can contribute to the success of a team but then have to leave that team because of salary caps. Payton Jr. Is a good example. Last year the Lakers would not be able to pay Caruso so he ended up in Chicago. The next agreement is not going to be signed right away because the owners will be trying to strip away any leverage the players might have.

MJ never left the Bulls. He didn't worry about winning a game without Pippen.
Kobe was a fool for fighting with Shaq, and KD was a bigger fool for leaving the Warriors. His legacy is toast. Both of their attempts to "be like Mike" did the exact opposite and cost them rings.

Thanks for this great video. I've wondering what’s been going on in the Durrant drama.
Also, I really appreciate your clarity and insights, as well as enthusiastic delivery. On top of that, I think your tone of voice has a friendly, congenial quality to it. That's why I think I can safely ask you the following question.... (I’ve asked this same question of at least twenty-five other RUclips presenters, so I hope you don’t take it personally, or in a negative way. I’m on a quest to understand a particular speech pattern and, so far, I don’t have any clear answers.)
My question: Why do you often say *aye* for “a” ... and *thee* for “the”? To my knowledge, there are very limited circumstances in which those pronunciations would be correct (i.e., most often related to the first letter of the word that follows the article)... and most of the time they're not. To my ears, these sounds very unnatural -- I have doubts you or anyone would use these pronunciations in everyday conversation, for example.
I remember my father doing this, when I was a kid, while he was pretending to be a newscaster or a high-ranking military officer. My only guess, at this point, is that there is a belief that these pronunciations make the speaker sound more formal or educated. I am interested in hearing from those who use this speech pattern, however, and would appreciate any light you could shed on this.

This is something else that the media is trying really hard to cover up for the last and final time kd never asked for Steve Nash. Kd reportedly suggested that they should’ve hired Ty lue kd was unaware that marks has already given Nash the green light to coach them there was no reports that they interviewed other qualified candidates. So when the media announced Nash got hired that’s when kd & ky found out and they wasn’t pleased with the idea but went along with it to give him a shot they wasn’t going to publicly bash Nash after he recently got hired. But kyrie did make a comment moment’s later stating that the Net’s didn’t need a coach it was a shot at Nash and marks bc he as the gm ignored their suggestions for the past 2 year’s what has Nash done that warrants him more time ? If they keep losing to championship contenders the Net’s should fire Nash with no hesitation if they continue to keep him knowing the players don’t like him and they’re constantly losing to good team’s there’s obviously a level of concern and it involves the front office bc they stated they want to compete for a championship but if they keep Nash around that contradicts with what they said as an organization bc Nash doesn’t have the clout to push these guy’s over the hump…
