    I’m absolutely loving these videos. My father has been a commercial photographer for over 20 years, but the way he explains some of these things doesn’t quite click in my head, but you’re making it much easier for me !🥰

    Thanks for all your expertise on these settings. My question is... do you use auto ISO or do you always set your ISO manually. Thank you!

    Is there a physical book or is it just an ebook?

      No physical book yet, but we are considering it. If we offer one, I'll comment again with a link.

    Hi, in watching your video you never mentioned camera modes. Am I to assume your setting offered were set in a manual mode as opposed to Shutter Speed or Aperture Priority mode?

    • @shelleypaulsonphotography
      @shelleypaulsonphotography  4 года назад +1

      Yes, correct! There are occasions where I will switch to Av mode, usually when I'm shooting action where the light is rapidly changing. But for portraits, I stick to manual exposures.

      @@shelleypaulsonphotography Hi Shelly, thank you so much for your response back. I recently did a shoot with a model and horse using your suggested settings in manual. The only difference was, I shot with my iso set to automatic as opposed to manually settings, reason being, it was a very bright hot sunny day and I was unsure about what your suggested settings with the iso was concerned. The result was, the images turned out amazing, albeit the exposure from the sun was a bit bright, but I dealt with that in my editing in Lightroom, which and again, resulted in some very amazing images, and that that I thank you ever so very much. All this being said, I am scheduled to do another shoot this coming Sunday, which promises to again be very bright sunny and hot. I will continue to use your suggested settings, albeit would like to know what you perhaps recommend for my iso settings? I will be shooting with my Canon 5 D Mark II and using my Canon 70-200 2.8 lens. I do not know if you will find this before my shoot on Sunday, but if you do, would you perhaps consider responding with what you feel would be an appropriate iso setting? I very much appreciate your time and patience in this matter and I thank you.

      Hi Gary! ISO can vary from camera to camera but I always feel like it's the last consideration. I need to have enough depth of field to get my horse and rider in focus, and also enough shutter speed to make sure there's no motion from camera shake or subject movement. So whatever ISO I need to be at to make those two things happen is what I choose. I'm not afraid of high ISOs as long as I don't underexpose. 😊
