  • A full shoot walkthrough and final image sharing session of a horse photography session with Twiggy the Connemara and her human, Emily. This video wasn't planned out to be recorded but I felt the content might be useful to some people so it was best to share with a voiceover pointing out what I was doing at the creation point of every shot.
I hope this video is helpful!
** DISCLAIMER: If you are photographing horses (and their humans) ensure safety is your TOP priority and never ever put anyone in harms way. You must be fully insured to shoot horses in any capacity because things can go wrong in a split second. Twiggy is a very calm, bombproof mare who was perfect for this type of session. Had she been spooky or scatty, Emily would NOT have been on board. Safety first - no exceptions! **
Thank you to Emily for allowing us to share the content of this video ❤️

Hands and hooves down the best behind the scenes ever for equine/person photography. I will now deliberately create that curve and not just hope it happens because it looks nice. I also appreciated viewing the different crops. That is something I struggle with when composing. Thank you and a big “yes” if you are able to show more material like this.

This was fascinating. I have been photographing mostly dogs and cats for years, almost all for animal rescues, but I love all animals and would love to photograph horses. I had a friend contact me to do that, but knew that I know nothing about horses (and am slightly afraid of them) so was extremely happy to see you had some videos. People think that since you can photograph a dog, you can do any animal! Now I know what my goals are, to capture the horse looking her best!

I'd love to see more horse shoots, especially with people in them, to see more about how you pose the humans. I also just have to share with you that I was tearing up watching this, because in just under two weeks I will be taking photos of my own old gray mare (and handing my camera off to a friend to take some photos of me with her that I will then edit) before we euthanize her (cancer) later this month. She's 25 now, and I've had her since she was 12, and I have her daughter. Of course, I have lots of cell phone pictures of her, but I just haven't gotten nice photos of her until now. Anyway, all that to say thanks for sharing, cause this has reminded me of a few shots I'd like to get with her while we have the chance.

I was so excited to find your YT channel and have literally watched as many of your videos as I could in the last 24hrs! Amazing! Please keep adding horse photography content... I definitely benefitted from seeing your 'camera' cam footage! Love your full photo edit tutorials too with the downloadable image to follow and practice each step! Thank you!
