John Mayall Jazz Blues Fusion: Performed and Recorded Live in Boston and New York
Blues musician John Mayall, the "godfather of British blues" whose bands included some of the most famous and virtuosic rock musicians of the past 60 years, died on Monday at the age of 90. A singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Mayall has been at the heart of the British blues scene since the 1960s. His band The Bluesbreakers at various times included Clapton and Jack Bruce, later of Cream; Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie of Fleetwood Mac; Mick Taylor, Jon Hiseman, Dick Heckstall Smith and Harvey Mandel. Although Mayall never approached the fame of some of his illustrious alumni, he was still performing in his late 80s.
I really had no expectations when I saw him live a few years back and was pleasantly surprised. He still gave a great show.
He influenced so many people, introducing them to the Blues that he loved. A long and fruitful life, that's the way it's done! Good job John!
R.I.P. JOHN MAYALL😭Cheers.
