My grandkids came today and loved the videos, the 6 year old grandson was singing "maybe it worked" especially the "maybe it never waaaaasss" soulful bit 😂 brilliant!
Always a joy watching a new bimble Kieran and this was no exception. Never been to Arnside, will give it a go next time I'm up that way. Great stuff. 🙂 (Al Kennett)
If you go to Arnside, check tides . If your there just before incoming on a big tide . The Claxton goes off 30 minutes before arrival . Watch the tidal bore , it's rapid going up The River Kent . Be careful many have perished.
Arnside and surrounding areas are beautiful. The chippy is great, last time we went there we tried a deep fried creme egg, never been able to find one anywhere else since. Thanks for the videos, love watching them!
Bought the album this week. Only one negative - not enough tracks. Makes me so happy I wish I could meet myself!. Going to bimble myself next week in the Cotswalds with the posh lads. All to enjoy.
It's interesting that prawns were up as far Arnside, further down the estuary, towards Flookburgh, there was a lot of shrimps 'Morecambe Bay shrimps' and a little way along the coast towards Hest Bank is the area where the tragedy of the Chinese cockle collectors got killed when the tide came in. Morecambe Morecambe Bay can be very dangerous. The Arnside viaduct is a brilliant place to practice white water kayaking when the tide either floods in or out. Its a brilliant place to practice breaking in and out, at the pillars. The viaduct was rebuilt recently and there was a campaign to put a pedestrian and cycle path alongside, but stupidly it got turned down. To get to Grange from Arnside is a massive detour up to Milnthorpe and Levens Bridge, rather than just cutting across on the viaduct. Planners - HUH!!
Exactly, much easier but not as much fun unless the guard on the train was the famous and fun 'Ringo Star'. He used to make the most funny and entertaining announcements
Thank you for that. Take off your shoes is just one of the best songs I've ever heard. I love it in your videos. You've got a little fan group going where I work, lots of seniors enjoy watching your history shows. Fantastic. Stay safe out there.
Um Bongo was made in Milnthorpe but it went out of favour because of the advertising jingle "Um Bongo um bongo they drink it in the Congo" with images of humans dressed as gorillas. It was deemed racist and patronising; seems fair enough to me, it was pretty derogatory. I think a very similar juice still exists but with a very different name, usually 'tropical juice' with out the demeaning images.
One of my favorite chippy’s in Arnside top 5, great Bimble.
The chippy in Sandside is amazing. I'll have to try the one in Arnside when I'm there next. I do love a good chippy.
What, no chippy? I wonder why? Interesting video again Kieran. Glad you found the churches. Many thanks, Best Wishes Pete.

The village has a very good chippy!
Another wonderful bimble Kieren. I agree about needing a chippy.

The chippy in Arnside is awesome. Although it keeps strange opening hours if memory serves
Never disappoint
Great video Kieran. One interesting Bimble you could do at Arnside is to walk across the bay with Queens Guide. Did it many years ago it was great fun

It is actually easier to hop on the train for one stop. Not as much fun though. :)

hi Arnside has a chippy!
I've been made aware.......it just needs to be open at lunchtimes midweek! Ha
Arnside does - or did - have an excellent chippy about 3 doors down from the pub. Must've closed. Arnside's loss.
This music is ace, what's it called? Thankyou
The music is my own music. I go by the name of Specs. Links in the description to buy or listen. :)
