Skageflå, Geiranger

The area around the Geirangerfjord is one of the two "fjord areas" in Norway that are listed as World Heritage. The hike between the village of Geiranger and the historic mountain farm of Skageflå is a classic. The hike is not too demanding for anyone who is in decent physical shape. The trail is 5 kilometres one way and the highest point is Homlongsætra at 544 mt asl, before it goes down again to 250 mt asl where Skageflå is located. Skageflå offers one of the most iconic view of the fjords of Western Norway. The trail could be challenging for those who are afraid of heights as you pass very close to a steep cliff. The location could also be reached by the fjord and a shorter trail climbing directly from the water - but that's for next time :)
