Both my boa and satyr had the sand polished finish, and although it looks good, it was very inconsistently finished as well and there was a huge difference between the look of the finish on the two knives. They were both very cloudy and the sand polish finish shows blemishes and scratches very easily. Definitely not a fan of that finish if you are actually going to use the knife because it will look like crap in no time. I did like the knives themselves, but they both have scratches on the blade somehow and I haven't even used them yet.
Oh, actually the wood scale version can be a Crooked River killer if you consider the price difference. It's almost as good without that ridiculous Benchmade price tag. And I would prefer the AR-RP M9 to D2 anytime. 14C28N comes much closer, but as you say it's hard to compare when their sizes are so different. That's the whole point about the Prado. You get a very good large knife for a very nice price.

Thanks for watching!
artisan just prototyped another clip point folder that imo is far more attractive. to me, this one kind of has a bland throwing knife profile.
LOL. Do you know the name of the Artisan knife you’re talking about?
