Love when you guys bring up Barry. He was a gem and is certainly missed by viewers who have been here long enough
Right?!
Rest In Peace Barry
Eric and Chad sitting down for a gun gripes is one of my favorite things about this channel. Don’t ever stop.

Can you do a video about how the California attorney general "leaked" thousands of private citizen gun owners' name, birth date and addresses? This needs to get out.
Damn commiefornia❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗
💯
Agree, but what good will it do? California does what they want, without consequences, apparently!!!
Depends on the use or what you do for it. Most importantly, if you’re using Gucci or any other make sure you’re comfortable with it
Gucci glock isn’t a brand lol
@@stinkybillygoat6873 i didnt say it was a brand. I was referring it if it’s not gucci. My grammar is just lame that’s all.
@@AllAboutSurvival I gotcha lol mine is garbage too
I can honestly say I am the "master of my tool" since I was 12 yo I have been honing my skills to exacting perfections. Now back to gun, I roll with a shadow systems dr920 mainly because of the trigger and the trigger guard not being 2 inches thick like a glock also that sexy and extremely functional beaver tail that reminds my slightly of a modern 1911 beaver.
As a gun guy and a car guy, when I’m asked about Gucci guns, my answer is pretty basic : “Make it work, make it yours. Not everyone drives VW beetles.”
I do and well said
What do you mean by not everyone drives a beetle? Idk much about cars lol
@@bobocan17 Basically just... car people like to modify and personalize their ride. If we weren't individual people, we'd all drive the same bland and boring thing - but we don't so why would carry pistols be any different? Color options, added features, these are the kinds of things that brought in "new" gun owners that never considered them before. Remember how they pushed the purple and robin's egg blue frames towards the women's market? Technically that's pseudo-gucci because they all used to be cold, black, blued, or maybe FDE only.
How many people ask you?
@@bryananderson3772 Quite a few actually - generally when I volunteer to be an RSO at my local ranges and bring a small wagon full of my own toys and ammo - people tend to wander over and start asking all sorts of things. Sometimes it's just the sight of my SRO topped Walther Q5WFMP, or sometimes it could be as simple as why I have anodized weighted mag plates on my 2011. My family has been working with the local shop for nearly 35 combined years so we get a lot of inqueries there too.
The most "Gucci" I would go is shadow systems mr920 war poet. You get a little bit of everything and it being hand picked functional parts by John Lovell, I trust it!!
Same. Mine has been my EDC for two years and has held up beautifully.
Think we might need to revisit PCP air rifles. They’re getting pretty powerful . I recently got one just so I don’t have to travel to the range . And its actually saving me money on ammo. And I am very impressed
Exactly.
I also like springers/Break-Barrel
I seen a video of a guy taking a wild hog with a .22 air rifle
The hog if I remember correctly weighed in at 18lbs.
I get it some want fancy. But from experience, you want it to be life-depending reliable. I used to carry a G30 with an extended mag thinking I'm good. When I found out at the range it jammed and stove-top'd ALOT. It was at that point I realized my life could have been on the line. So it's best to be practical, always.
Yeah man. Always test and vet your carry pieces. I like to see a minimum of 200 to 300 trouble free rounds before I'll rely on a gun.
You shoot anything and they're taking the gun. That's money potentially lost. Cheap and works is where it's at... Even used is better
Preach! 🙌
That's my thoughts on what I carry. I've also had a 200 dollar gun be way more reliable than one I had to have and dropped a 1000 on. That is 2005 dollars lol.
High end guns seem more of a competition or collector type thing. I prefer stock and reliable myself no matter what the price range.
That's me all day. I generally shop around the 300 to 400 dollar range for handguns and 500 to 600 with rifles. My first gun orchard was a police trade in Glock 22 came with 3 mags and a case for $299. Prices have gone up since covid but there has been some really good deals pop up from time to time recently as well. My latest gun is very budget I put together a glock clone for $265. It's ran flawlessly so far. I have to shoot it more but, It's the best money I've spent on a Gun so far. Super impressed.
For reals. Bin there lost 2500$
Glock 19 GEN three. It is the Ford F-150 of pistols. Yeah it’s big yeah it’s chunky but it gets the job done.
Whatever makes YOU happy..because in reality, that's all that matters.
Not entirely true but ok 👌🏻
@@JordanJimmyDavison Do you own my gun or do I own my gun? Thanks for playing. 👍
@@UnknownUser_0000 good point!
Hedonism is what led us to where we are now as a society
buy all the guns you can doesn't matter if gucci or not can't have to many guns!!!!!!!+
If you buy too many guns then you have less money to spend on ammo, and ultimately having a lot of ammo is more important than having a lot of guns
@@L3GN5RW9 if you have money to buy more guns hopefully your smart enough to supply yourself with ammo everyone knows a gun with no ammo is a paper weight I figured that wouldn't have to be Mentioned
"Glock perfection", "but let me change out every part to make it run better"
^^^ this. I chuckle everytime I see the poors dump 1500 into their 350 G17/19 in order to have it shoot as well as a 900 gun
I get the sentiment but no one bats an eye at modifying their AR15s with all sorts of parts. Not to mention all the kit involved with battle belt set ups, plate carrier set ups, holster set ups, ifac set ups, night vision set ups... it's all tailored to the person. I don't see how pistols are any different.
It seems to me we're moving in the direction of not what's the best features for something but how much money can I throw on it. It's interesting to see people with $2,500 AR15s that have $2,000 in aftermarket parts not including their $400 scope mount, $2,500 scope, $300 offset red dot mount, $600 offset red dot and $500 KAC backup irons along with their $15,000 night vision set up, $4,000 plate carrier set up, $2,500 battle belt set up, $750 holster and mag set up and so on and so on.
@@2amichaelj People do seem to spend an absurd amount of money on their guns, and that's fine, people are free to kit out how they want, but like Garandthumb said, all of it is pointless unless a person trains with it and actually uses it. I've seen people at local matches with almost bone stock PSAs or other budget rifles out shoot people with nice Daniel Defense or BCM rifles just because they would rather spend money on ammo and practice with it instead of endlessly changing out accessories. All the gucci gear in the world doesn't matter if you can't shoot a decent group to save your life.
I LOVE my War Poet MR920, over 2k rounds through it. Most expensive pistol I have ever owned and took a lot of saving up for. I pray I never have to use it. I am sure the PD or DA would love to hang on to it.
Id say you can keep fancy stuff in general if you want to leave something behind for your next of kin one day, because lets be honest these gucci guns aren't just a daily thing that we can replace or forget about eventually or something we use all the time to the point that it breaks and you scrap it for parts or just buy a new one, all these applies if you are financially poor if not then go ahead and do these things to your gucci guns but for us peasants we expect it to last long and be top of the line in its time since we spent the extra dime, but if you are a man of the present and you have no intent of leaving something fancy behind for your next of kin but rather make sure you live long enough to see your next of kin then maybe, maybe not buy a gucci gun, just buy a gun that's reliable and moderately cheap if you can
Holy run on sentence Batman!!
I bought a Sig P320 subcompact in 9mm when they were released. It has been 100% reliable other than minor obvious mag issues during the high stress drills in windy, dirt, awful conditions. Have over 3000 rounds down the pipe.
Regularly do drills where mags were dropped at certain points and got dirty! I had to "shoot and scoot" with a randomly loaded mag in the pistol, ditto with spare mag, and random mags in the dirt. Verbal ques where barked out to tell me where the threat was. I decided what cover/mag depot I ran to.
High stress, random round counts, a few "tap, rack, bangs" because of dirt coating mags. Very valuable training (for me).
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast
I like how people knock others for trying out parts on their Glocks and pistols but no one bats an eye at AR15s. It feels like today it's no longer what's the best features on my AR15 but "how much money can I throw on it"
At about the 30 minute mark, shows Eric's weakness in the hypothetical situation that he's forced to grab a rifle for a situation. He's going to stand in front of his safe(s) for 15 minutes trying to choose which one to grab lol.
I feel like if u end up shooting someone...ur gun is going into evidence so why would you want to tie up an expensive ass gun
Have either of you tried one of the Wilson Combat AR-15's? Very well functioning rifle.
Oh man, I'd love that Wilson Combat P320. That would be awesome. I put their grip modules on my 320x5 and 365xl. My current gucci is the Shadow Systems MR920. The basic is the 320/365xl or gl45. ARs - LWRC and Ruger 556/PSA. Shotguns - no high end for me... Stoeger and Mossy do the work for me.
I would say no. Get something that works, that you can reliably hit with, and that you know isn't a piece of junk.
I'm glad you're supporting firearms legal protection! I've had them for years and they really are awesome!
I put a $1000 or so into a g17 build and love it, it’s not really a Gucci Gun it’s just nice parts that always function and never fail
I have a maverick 88 I’ve had it since 2004 and I absolutely love it
Gucci Glocks make neat safe queens, but when you start adding all the skeletonized speed holes into the frame, those just become dust bunny accumulation holes for a CC gun.
Guess maybe I’m the guy you discussed with guns failing in class. I always treat full day class as equipment test along with imp going weakest link (my skills). OTOH I also bring another firearm. Have had parts work loose on multiple firearms, even just following first unaired fieldstrip of new semi shotgun. Had made it through 80%+ of class, pump worked fine for remainder though sling on pump was an utter failure (too tight to have mount gun with sling around shoulder even adjusted out all the way).
One of the few modded guns is my Walther P22 the main mod I did is a captured recoil spring to make it easier to clean
I basically keep it simple in my carry options. There is alot of good durable pistols at 5-800$ and some cheaper. For me i don't have time to tinker with all these different options. Find a trigger you like put a red dot on it id call it good but I tend to keep it simple. Really it comes down to can you put rounds on target or not? The rest doesn't really matter.
If I was to choose a “Gucci” gun I’d go for the 92x performance. I love the m9 and the stainless finish on the performance is beautiful.
I build my own or modify my own. But! I study and research before doing so.
It's like the Springfield Armory Range Officer I'm working over, one step at a time, to use either .45Super or .460Rowland. Right now it's set up for.45acp 230gr +p. I had to change the springs and get a balance of reliable ejection vs throwing brass into next week.
I got my glock 19 with cyber bronze cerakote finish, 2 small lighting cuts with a royal arms flared mag well zev 2 compensator and a zafari titanium threaded barrel, with a cut for a rmr with a holosun 403c with trijicon suppresdor night sights, and laser etched diamond pattern stippling on the grip. I don't know why I need all of this because now i don't even want to carry it, it just sit in the safe. It's reliability hasn't changed it's just that i don't want it taken if used.
My weapon has a light, eats any ammo and fires every time. Gucci enough for me.
I have upgrades from Bowen Classic Arms, Cylinder and Slide, Smith and Wesson Master Revolver Package and aftermarket front sights from Brownell’s on my big bore revolvers from S&W.
My opinion is it’s better to have a cheap gun you practice with all the time. Then an expensive gun you think will make you a better shooter. Experince is always #1
miss Barry too - watching him shoot that Linebau 450 or whatever was awesome!
CZ75 for me all day, every way. I was actually contemplating which model version of the 75 I might prefer if not the stock 75B when Chad range the 100% Czeck gong and said CZ75 baby!!
Few years back LEO glock trade-ins were around $300. Some extra mags, holster or two, upgraded sights, and an weapon light. Done.
The only handgun upgrade I'd do would be an secondary weapon being an small double action revolver and an pocketknife.
I've had q lot of guns over the years and I never tune on them because I think the gunsmiths at S&W, Taurus etc are smarter than I am with guns since they're selling to me so why try to enhance. I wanted a S&W 38 with a good trigger, so I got a Performance Center. Just my opinion
You nailed it. People always thinking they can outdo the teams of engineers at the factories. The same with cars.
@@vyoufinder don't I know about the cars too, I've grown up in a shop. I'm third generation painter/ body man. My grandpa told me everytime I change wheel size or whatever, "You're not as smart as GM engineer so leave it alone 😄
i love how Knowledgeable yall are it has helped me choose what type of gun owner i want to be and its helped me to decide what type of guns i want and how to keep reliability on my side.
What I have + what I can carry are always a daily concern . 😁
Usually I just have a 43 on me cause it doesn't poke holes in my new pockets like what I want to carry dose.
I dental floss sew them up but my folks still get mad on me about it.
I don't like holsters, its gotta fit in a pocket or I can have it on me in my concealed carry state.
Interestingly, I kept my Carry pistol absolutely stock for years. It's an early M&P 2.0, so it doesn't have front slide serrations, still has the hinge trigger, and no optics cut. It has served me very well. However, over time, I have made incremental changes. The first was lightly reducing the coarseness of the grip on the left side to make a little less harsh on skin. Of course, I added a light. Thought I opted for a minimal light with decent lumens and candela. It is small, so it is still comfortable to carry, but the slight weight still helps absorb recoil. Eventually, I was looking at polymer80 frames and Sig Sauer undercuts. So I made one for my own. It took me a few attempt since I was always worried that I would take off too much material. But now my finger sits in a wide channel(I have big hands) and I can get very high on the gun. I also ground down and polished the handguard to make it more uniform. It's crazy how a slight groove can help you "lock" into the gun. Lately, more red dots are coming out that are not too bulky and not too small. The EPS Carry is low enough to co-witnesses with standard height iron sights. So I got one and now I am going to have the slide cut to mount the EPS Carry directly. But I am also having front serrations and lightening cuts on the slide to keep the weight close to the same. So, gradually, my pistol is looking more gucci. But I am not making these changes to look good. I feel like a proper tool should only be changed to improve performance. Though it doesn't have to look janky either. I really don't mind the trigger. But I do want a more traditional tab safety design. I really want a new gen M&P 2.0 flat face trigger. I don't want Apex. But it's hard to find the newer M&P 2.0 tab triggers as spare/replacement parts. I don't feel like the aftermarket M&P triggers are worth the price for the slight change you get. The original 2.0 trigger is pretty decent. It's mostly the hinge design that just isn't quite perfect. Personally, I don't really like most gucci guns, but sometimes I feel like it is inevitable to make changes and refinements the more you practice with certain guns.
The hinge design beet Glock is Garand Thumb's freeze test. The M&P was the only winner, and it was due to the trigger shoe's hinge design.
@@5jjt That was speculation, not something that was definitively proven. About the only way to be sure is to test an M&P with the new trigger shoes.
Not for me. I just need one reliable pistol that I can shoot well. Rest of the money is spent on ammo.
One reliable pistol and enough spare parts to build a second.
One is none…
Always good to have a backup such as a derringer or snub.
Good knife too and pepper spray.
Never a bad idea to have a backup.
G.G. list.

2: Hellcat RDP in 9mm
3: D.E. L5 44Mag
4: Q Honeybadger 300B
Gotta have a Gucci HiPoint😂
I'd say leave your carry gun completely stock, so if you ever have to drop someone they can't say you modified your gun to make it "more deadly"
Well then. Based on that I would highly recommend a stock Shadow Systems pistol. Which BTW I do own and they are by far the best stock “Glock” on the market.
Nope, you need to put a custom backplate on with a Punisher skull, or says something like "Bad Men Will Meet Their Maker, I'm Just Arranging It"
The hypocrites will accuse that to begin with.
They cut your food intake also.
Hegemony is how they work.
I have a old full size in M&P 40 1.0 and when I switched the barrel to 357sig I noticed a little extra wear on the locking lugs after 200 rounds or so.
Then I added a plate, and a Holosun 507Cv2, I reblued the barrel exterior and the locking lugs and that wear pattern didn't come back.
The extra weight helped to tame the extra recoil from the 357 round.
Base gun: HK45, Gucci gun: Ed Brown Kobra Carry.
Ultimately the most important thing is your ability to hit the target without even thinking about it. That comes from training. I am incredibly comfortable with my XDSC, and don’t feel the need for anything more. I hit what I need to when I need to. Gucci is fine for collectibles, but totally unnecessary in a carry gun.
Buy a reliable; serviceable pistol then buy another one just like it. If you have to use it you're gong to lose it. It will end up in an evidence room somewhere, for an unknown amount of time. That's where pistol number 2 comes in.
Beretta 92 and Browning Hi-Power is as gucci as I get
concealed vs open carry gun top 5? open carry gives a dif choose.. open carry could be bigger?
Nearly all the Gucci rifles out there are really over-gassed. That's basically their big secret on how to be ultra reliable.
Damn well I’ll stay away
My KAC SR15 is not over gassed. Vary Gas efficient. My Radian Mod 1, Noveske N4, LMT Mars-L are not over gassed either. Specifics would be nice. If it is gas efficient it should not cycle shitty Russian under powered 223. I must disagree based on personal experience.
@@cadeinscho6339 Well, the DD, BCM, HK 416 and Geiselle are all over-- gassed; which are what I was referring to. I know that KAC has their own custom gas length/ system, so maybe it's more dialed..... When talking "over gassed" --- you'll know by what direction your rounds are ejecting. it still runs steel ammo well, and also will be hard to suppress, because it gases in your face so hard. and they tend to have a more violent recoil also.
AK been gas charged forever.
I remember %80 kits were a hallmark card of metal through the mail.
There's good reasons the ak is the worlds most popular guerilla gun.
I will always carry my Glock 19x or my Walther ppq q5 match polymer. Both have run with 0 issues for a couple thousand rounds each. I don’t even clean my Glock really. Just oil and make sure there is no fuzz or dust from carrying or going in my backpack. My AR that i would take is my aero precision with a geissle trigger. Same as the Glock and Walther, never had an issue just keep her clean and oiled. Just remember, in a self defense situation, more times than not your firearm will sit in an evidence locker. I would rather $1000 upgraded Glock sit than a 2k+ pistol.
Out of the box bet your life on it- Glock 19 ,HI Vis fiber optic sights, TLR7 light. I wasn't aware Glocks had that many problems being suppressed. I have pistol cans but have yet to get a threaded barrel for the G19 I have now. I'm super curious. Gucci gun- Desert Eagle 50 cal, Titanium nitried coated(gold) but a nice gloss not flat or machined look, and extended mags. I like SIG and own a few but, they have had too many issues to trust your life with them and the Army is carrying the P226 or P320 around.
Started with a G19 with factory nite sights, switched to a P365xl for my edc. I prefer keeping everything stock. I’d love a Radian model 1 14.5
I did the exact same thing, I carried a Glock 19 and a Glock 26 for about 15 years but the Sig 365 XL Has both of them beat When it comes to concealed carry. Awesome little gun that shoots like a full size
@22:47 Smith and Wesson M&P compact 3.6 .40cal with night sights. One hell of an upgrade from my 442.
M&P45c Talon grip wrap, Fiber optic sights and Apex complete trigger upgrade. That is about as Gucci as I need an " Everyday Gun " to be.
At IDPA, the pistols I see malfunction the most are:
1. Heavily modified Glocks
2. 1911's
The pistols I see malfunction the least:
Stock Glocks and other stock striker-fired pistols
Love the gun gripes. Thanks for sharing.
For an out-of-the-box "basic carry gun," I'd go with the Sig P365 XL. For a "Gucci carry gun," I'd go with either the Staccato C2 DPO or the Wilson Combat EDC X9.
Watching episode 16 next. AR Vs. AK. RIP Barry 🕊
Thank you very much gentlemen. I enjoyed this gun gripe a lot. Lots of great information and topics for me think over.
If someone hypothetically modified 12g birdshot rounds to be 7/8 oz Lee drive slugs and had to use them in self defense could that potentially be used in court as "he modified 12 gauge shotgun ammunition to be *more lethal* he is a murderer!!!!!! .. simply because of the ammunition modification!"?
My glock 19 gen 4 has all factory stuff in it, but mine is sluggish going back into battery if I do that, I've always wondered why it would, it didn't when I first got it but after about 150 rounds it started to do it. Great video as always fellas
I gotta say the Hipoint actually looks semi okay in that long slide variant.
I don't think they're particularly ugly because they're not fancied up with all kinds of useless aesthetic details and machining, they are just oddly proportioned.
The long slide hipoint looks better proportioned and less odd.
Are y'all aware of any "legal justified" self defense cases that went to court, either from charges or a grand jury where the state of the gun such as aftermarket modifications and upgrades actually played a part in the case?
It's that switch that will get you in trouble but you guys got the legal switches
As an AK enthusiast my attitude toward all these crazy post production accessories that gucci the platform out is "Nyet, rye fulls fine."
It’s interesting that they didn’t bring up a more budget version like the Taurus GX4. I have it, and it’s by far the most reliable of all my guns. The only mods on it are tritium night sights and pinky extensions on the mags. It stays by my side 24/7.
Imma Gucci my Hi-Point C9 with the Hundred Dollar Bill grips and the MCK Gen 2 when it comes out 😄 😄 😄 only gave 100 for it used.
I have several low tier and mid tier ar's. I recently got a Barrett ar and there is a world of difference. I'm looking at selling all my other ar's and buy another Barrett.
I think from a practical stand point, unless you shoot competition, there is no need for a gucci gun. However if you want a gucci gun, then go for it, because it's your right to own what you want.
I got a SA Professional model that acts as both a Gucci collectible but also practical enough to be used as a self defense or duty pistol.
Staccato p series is duty rated. The Staccato c2 makes a hell of a carry piece to compliment the p.
My browning hipower takes reddots and stuff and wasnt super expensive.... Im just sayin
I was gonna say Glock G17....but my ,"wanna carry" would be a Kimber or Wilson Combat.
“Big baggy britches” 😂😂😂
Basic rifle: Daniel Defense MK18, Cucci Rifle Larue PredatAR 7.62
Great discussion guy's.... This is some stuff a lot of us are thinking.
My zev oz9 is the best home defense pistol I think you can get for the money.
I cannot wait to feel that new FN 57 MRD
After my “incident” they didn’t take my gun apart to see if I modified the trigger of springs. I don’t see why they would.
Carry the gun you're most effective and comfortable with. On a glock just use Timney Alpha. Best trigger ever made for striker gun. You don't have to touch factory springs.
My Gucci gun is a whitworth reproduction rifle and I my most expensive rifle. It's very accurate and I recommend on its $2.1k just by itself but with a platinum lined nipple and kal hexagonal .45 cal bullets they're amazing
Thanks guys as always very good vid!!
Walked in a shop asking for a hi point 9mm as my 1st and was immediately told to not even think about it. :/
If a 870 marine magnum is a mid-level gun, then isn't a glock 19 a mid-level gun too? Shouldn't a Taurus g4 be the maverick 88 of pistols?... anyhow, I "digress"...
Gucci if you can realistically afford it and keep it for play time.
A carry weapon should be a basic gun, maybe some glow in the dark sights and a trigger job but not much more.
Don't be the guy living in a $ 5k trailer while driving a $ 30k car.....
Great points guys.
No. You should buy a firearm that you can hand craft yourself. That leads to research, knowledge, and even potentially a good handle on safety. Besides exercising your right, it tends to make your local politicians angry while at the same time you're defending yourself by the letter of the law and constitution.
If you use it for social work, the cops will try to keep it. If you have a 3000 pistol, that stings a bit more than a G3C or a SD9VE for 250-350....
I have guns to play with but I generally carry a stock pistol for my EDC . I still carry a stock Beretta 92 A , hard to leave an old reliable full size at the house. Do what makes you happy!!!
It's your money and your life so do whatever you want with it.
the way i see it is the same for all edc i want something not too cheap because i dont trust cheap but also dont have the funds for gucci stuff also dont want to risk loosing something that expensive whether by thief or by cops and i also want something worth it that can also be passed down to future generations also guns like shadow systems will give you free guns if it gets stolen or taken from use in self defense
Like my grandfather said make the shot count .he was a master and a lot of guns back than were single shot .
" Basic AR? S&W M&P 15." It was good enough for the Kenosha Kid 👍
Those S&W M&P 15 Sport iis were not Initially good to go. Early on, their qc was questionable. I remember seeing more than one with poorly-timed barrel extensions that couldn't chamber from the right side of a mag, ever.
For awhile they sold them with 5R rifling barrels, and they were stupid accurate. I'm not sure if they are still doing that or if they ended up cutting costs.
You're absolutely right about them changing a gun can make them work better and then other times they can completely file a gun up where it won't work but the same goes from the factory there's certain rifles that I have bought over the counter from factory and certain ammunitions will run and then other ammunitions won't run and I've had them where only one type of ammunition from one manufacturer will run in that rifle now handguns I have never had a problem with at all they usually run anything I put in them factory handguns
