I bought one of these a few months ago. Had exactly the same stuff except mine had a bag of reese's pieces instead of M&M's and a oatmeal cookie instead of chocolate chip. Only thing I think should change is bread instead of tortillas.
It used to have a twin pack of wheat snack bread instead of the tortillas, but it seems like that version is being phased out. The two slices were thinner than the regular version, but just as dry and dense.
Gundog you do more to keep up morale than a packet of M & Ms in a ration pack does
... interesting to note the late 2019 version of menu #19 I’ve got replaces the fruit cobbler with potatoes au gratin ! no longer the diabetic fest of sugar it used to be !
Until a year or three ago, that meal came with a twin-pack of wheat snack bread, the intent apparently being to make a kinda sorta ersatz pseudo field expedient cheeseburger. Except that the snack bread made it a two-inch thick slab of awful. I no longer select this ration due to all the sweet stuff in it.

Just had this one a few days ago. I actually enjoyed the beef patty quite a bit (just too small). The ration is desperately missing some kind of salty crunch (crackers, trail mix, almonds, whatever). I would have preferred something like that over the cobbler or cookie. Ration is just too sweet especially considering how tiny the entree is. Thanks for the review!
Men put lotion on their hands? A breakfast fit for a king! Only 140 cal for the patty they had to add the cookie to bring the calorie count up. I would definitely look for one of these as a special treat MRE. Thank you for the review, Jim
I initially had serious doubts about this one, Gundog. As you said, that entree just really didn't sound very exciting at all; but it looks like the extras packet is bigger than usual, and I know how much Steve loves his fruit soups and cobblers, as well. I suspect this is similar to the Veggie Omelette, in terms of the entree being no great shakes, but the extras being good enough that you can almost overlook that.
the bacon cheese spread is the best cheese spread in my opinion. its too bad its not in more menus.

I got out of the Army in 2013, the MREs were pretty stacked in 09-13. I always loved the jalapeno cheese spread with either the crackers or wheat snack bread.
The mains were usually hit or miss, I liked anything with lots of meat or southwest seasoning. The Department of Defense sure likes their spaghettios, candy and pretzels though, lots of kid food these days for some reason
I concur. I am a total fan of what Estonia is evolving with Tactical Food Packs. Low sugar, mostly carbs, that will actually sustain a person for an entire day with enough glucose to keep sugar levels stable.
Needs a lot of Tabasco for my liking.
That patty is exactly the size of what we get at school, I get we dont burn near as many calories as soldiers, but nobody gets full on that.
This was my favorite in basic training…call me gross along with the chili Mac with jelapeno cheese 😍AMAZING

They definitely add definitely stuff to each mre cause I just had this one and mine had scalloped potatoes in it. BBQ sauce and mayonnaise and peanut m&ms
bet the soldier who got this one probably needed one of the MOREs as a chaser
My tortillas were chipotle & skiitles were included. I used the hashbrowns with bacon from another MRE to supplement my breakfast... Just finished... I am a huge fan of these...love the fact that I don't have to use anything but my hands & mouth!
My favorite MRE, had one a few minutes ago. My version had baked potatoes instead of the cobbler and peanut M&M’s, that’s really fantastic.

Good looking meal Dog. Great review as always. I had one of these, earlier this year. I still enjoy them. Much like the McRib ration, I would not want to eat them every day, however, LOL. Even the meals I am not overly fond, I can eat, every so often. If it were these , MRE'S, daily, when no camp stove, I might have A different hobby! LOL> Great job as always, Peace, John. @gundog, i was a bit surprised today when i opened a 2109 mre 19 beef patty. Looks like they changed it to a complete meal. There was no mustard, ketchup and no cobbler. I was surprised to see potates au gratin, a chocolate chip cookie, BBQ sauce and fat free majonese. It was very enjoyable.
Bagel would solve all patty issues. The bagel burger is amazing. I think it would be cool if they came with a pretzel bun or bagel! That was loaded with desserts but all good stuff. Great Review!

Nice review Gundog. This is my most favorite US Mre. Man, i like the Beef Patty. I had it once with jalapeno cheese spread. That gave it a little extra kick. I haven't had it with Tortillas. I still have two of them in my stash.

I had this one tonight. My ration had fat free mayo and bbq sauce instead of ketchup and mustard. The cobbler is good!

I bought menu a and menu b a couple of years ago. This one and the sausage patty were very dismal... like a light snack.

looks good to me. I have that menu sitting here. And I love Salisbury steak. Had the creamy spinach fettuccine meal and that I was okay with me also though. There really isn't much I want give me food poisoning.
They should provide 2 pattys... the Entre' is the main course and should be Enough to fill an adult.

I’m mad, I just got one, mine came with the beef patty, tortillas, Mayo, cheese spread w bacon, bbq sauce, oatmeal raisin cookie, and au gratin potato’s.. but no cobbler!!! 😔 I was hoping for a mre cake or cobbler, dangit.
Because its tiny they give you candy, cobbler and a cookie.
Were the military meals prior to MREs more healthy? It seems like MREs typically don't have vegetables.

Got same mre but instead of m&Ms, cookie, and cobbler they substituted potatoes au gratin for the cobbler
Edit also got rid of ketchup and mustard for bbq sauce
They need to put myo mustard relish onion and ketchup packets for hamburger MREs that would be more authentic

Why would you give tortillas with this and not wheat snack bread? Also surprised the US doesn't have that pain hamburger that Canadian rations have.

I had an American MRE a couple of months ago, didn't like it, just tasted chemicals, no flavours were sterile, foreign or European MREs are much better, more natural in flavour, less artificial.
