Did you disassemble an RG35XX already? I'm wondering if it's possible to detach the housing so I could paint the shell, but I only have one and I don't want to break it messing around.
@Retro Handhelds I just tore mine down and fixed all of the rattling buttons with your tips. I used paper tape, worked perfectly, and my buttons are nice and tight now. Thanks again!
I just installed these and I love it!!! You provided me with the newer design "V2", and really appreciate that! Install was a bit tricky at first, but your video made it so much easier to navigate through the innards of this thing. I have a second RG353V on the way that's a different color and I plan on mixing and matching the backplate with the front face as well as updating the back buttons with these. I also took your advice on using some wire tape on all the buttons and OMG it made feel so much more premium and not a rattling plastic box! Thanks again, and I hope you continue to design more improvements for this and other Game Devices! Cheers!!!!!
I'm glad i was able to help! Unfortunately i can't take the credit for making the buttons 😆 I'm just a very happy customer. I have 2 minis that i swapped the front and back covers on and i love how they look, it's always fun making these things your own. -Aish
Really appreciate this video and the work you did. I'm late to the party but my RG 353v is on its way and now I might order the buttons before I even get it.
I really like the idea, and the install seems easy... but I'm having hard time justifying the price since it's about 1/2 what I payed for the RG353VS itself ($55 CAD when including shipping, and that's even with your discount code). Could get a friend to 3d print them, but won't be resin printed which does sound great (as you mention they don't really feel 3d printed at all).
@Mini Moe I just finished a new controller project a couple days ago lol. Xbox One controller, got the metal joysticks and I repainted the shell to look like a black hole with metallic purple everything. Matte finished, oh man it's nice. I'm excited to do another.
I don't see this being mentioned at all. The clips on your back cover will spoil deal to the back button wasn't designed to be remove. White marks on the transparent cover = plastic stretched and damaged. The original button will come off very loose if you ever feel like swapping back to the old ones. Button mods is okay just not the shoulder button Imo.
They clip right off it's not a solid hold, the reason mine are white is because i was dumb and didn't remove them right the first time, but I've done it a few times after and no issues besides they have very little travel so you won't be stressing the clips. -Aish
Thanks for the video! I REALLY need help with the DPad. Is there a better alternative? I have trouble with fireball motions when I play fighting games.
I'm having issues with fireball motions. Down forward, down back, half circle motions. Also, when I press up sometimes it belts out an up+forward or up+back input. I need something that will allow me to execute these motions more accurately. I'm a fighting game player so I'm looking to play Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, etc
@@KHAOS1087 tape mod, basically just cover up 1/3 of the circle connection on the board you can use any tape you want. That usually fixes the accidental diagonals inputs and it's easy do to. -Aish
Great video. Would you happen to know what type of screw you would use to open the back of an RG35XX? I really love it but just got an issue with a red tint now on the display. I looked at Reddit and they said people were opening the case and reseating the ribbon cable. Sent out an email to Anbernic but no response yet. 🙄

Anyone found a way to get these in the UK without having to pay an extra £14 delivery? I wanted to get these plus new face buttons and the total bill on Etsy came to about £85, almost as much as a second console! Needless to say I'll be keeping stock buttons until someone in the uk starts making them!

Yes! I have the PokeBall version from SeaHorse laser design, you can use code RETROHAND15 for 15% off www.etsy.com/listing/1383889998/anbernic-rg35xx-cover
I don't like these buttons on the miyoo, i actually broke the tab that connects them by pressing into them at an angle, which your finger naturally does.
Depends personally after using them and having felt the quality i say yes. But keep in mind this is an optional thing if you want to improve an already great handheld, it's not a necessary thing.

What can I do , the plastic part where you put tape at had broke off . What can I use to hold the hinges on the buttons in place
You could try to glue the clips back on, or just use a strip of tape across the top, once you close it up they won't move.

Can i swap my stick with guilikit for nsw?
Yup they have the same connection
They are just too expensive for 4 pieces of plastic. Costs half the price of the device itself.
To pay 60$ for some buttons, when the console is worth 70$, you have to be stupid! Is not worth it, maybe if the price was 20$.
