I feel like this is the new Ticket to Ride. A great gateway game that's easy to teach and has a theme and style that works for a wide audience. Can't wait to get a copy. And as always thanks for the how to play.
You make the best game explaining videos. No other creator gives me this much amount of satisfaction and confidence before playing a game than your tutorials. Rather I don't wish to play a game if you haven't made a video on it. 😄
After Watching One Of Your First Videos Before This, I Can Really See The Quality Difference And These Videos Are Fantastic For Teaching My Friends How To Play A Game (Because I'm Bad At Explaining), Really Good Job!
I don't know how much lifetime and nerves you have saved me, many thanks to your amazing work. You keep it so simple, clear and professional even if you are an advanced boardgamer. I'm playing games with my family from time to time, and damn is it difficult to set my mind on their level of gameboarding experience so they eventually unterstand my poor explanations.
+Daniel Engel I'm glad to hear you've found them helpful, I certainly hoped they could be used as a tool to assist people trying to share games with their friends and family :)
Thanks for your videos Rodney! When I want to introduce a new game to my friends I often watch your videos to refresh the rules. Keep up the good work!
I found your channel recently thanks to /r/boardgames/ (because i want to start playing some board games with friends) and i love it. I have found your videos really helpful since you explain everything in an easy to understand and entertaining way. Thank you very much for doing these videos.
Thanks for this great explanation. I actually saw you at the Blue Orange booth at Gen Con right as the rush hit on Thursday (possibly Friday). I didn't get a copy that day but I was victorious on Saturday. I would have said hi but it was crazy. I appreciate all your videos!
Heather Cortebeeck I remember that moment well! I was having this pleasant conversation and then a horde of ninjas suddenly appeared (I never heard them coming!). Bodies, arms and money were flying everywhere :) It was pretty wild! Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat, but glad you had success getting the game!
Thanks Rodney! I don't know why, but we are having the hardest time trying to figure out the mechanics of this game for two people.... like a mental block but I will say, your video helped out considerably. Gave up on it tonight but will pick it up another time and we'll be using your video as a guide! Thanks so much! (Anybody else having a difficult time grasping this from the get-go?)
Thanks for the great clarification. There's still one thing I'm not sure of. When you reach the Silver level, is it possible to build a Silver building directly on an acquired empty land or you can build Silver ONLY on a demolished Bronze building? If I understood you correctly, you said build or replace but the rulebook says you can only replace a demolished Bronze building with Silver.
Hey Dunja, when you reach Silver, you can also directly build Silver buildings directly into empty spaces - you don't have to be demolishing a bronze building under it. Hope that helps!
This is a late question Rodney. But why not remove any character in a 2 player game. If they are not linked yo the colors then it should not make a difference? Thanks for you content.
Hey there Jaco, I shot this long enough ago, that I'm not sure what this question is in relation to. Maybe a time-stamp would help. That said, it sounds like you're asking a "why" question, which is something that might be better directed to the publisher, if you're wondering why a rule is the way it is.
Watch It Played Hi Rodney. Sorry, i know it was long ago. I was asking why the pink character has to be removed in a 2 player game and not any as you mentioned early in the video that the character card is not related to the score holders. I was confused and realized that it is because the lot color is pink and you also mentioned 2 players don’t play on pink. Got it mixed up. Apologies. Thanks for responding btw. Jaco
So Rodney, when a player takes the "Acquire Lot and/or Building Action", taking a lot card and placing the worker onto it, they may immediately build on that same lot, or do they have to wait a turn for that particular worker?
+Rob Dingman They can choose either option. Often, it is advantageous to wait a turn or two. This deprives an opponent from building on that lot, but also allows you to place a building atop contiguous lots of yours, on a later turn.
Rafael Borges It's from the "Watch It Played!" logo. You can see it in gameplay videos, or as the user icon for this channel. The blue meeple is representing the exclamation point at the end, hence it's upside down (its head is the dot).
Rafael Borges Yep, these are new versions. My old ones took a tumble off the shelf too many times, and my pal Ben over at Daedalus productions made me some new ones, with sturdier bases, and made the blue one upside down to match our logo, which I thought was fun :)
In the unlikely event that a player has no unused Workers left at the start of his turn AND it is impossible for him to build or demolish, that player must select 1 of their lots of land occupied by a Worker; the player must return the corresponding Lot Card (color and size) to the bottom of the Future Market pile; and reclaim the Worker. Their turn is then complete and they must wait until the next turn to resume normal play.

Hope you had a chance to try it!
Such a great explanation, so much better than reading the rules, thank you so much!!
You're very welcome - glad you enjoyed!
Just opened this one for Christmas and we are all set to play now thanks to this video!
+boardgamecloset Merry Christmas, closet gang!
I read the rulebook and felt confused. Then I watched your video, and everything fell into place! Great work!
So glad to hear it was helpful!
Excellent explanation. The game instructions should include a link to this video. Looking forward to playing this now
Thank you very much - I hope you have a great time playing!

Rowan Mayer Thank you for the compliment. I've tried to improve the show in small steps as I am able.
I Should Be Thanking You. If It Wasn't For This Amazing Show You Do Me And My Friends Wouldn't Know How To Play Half Of Our Games. So, Thank You.

Super helpful! We've played this a few times already and this video clarified questions the written rules couldn't answer.
Very glad to hear this was helpful!
Just played our first game & loved it. Was easy to understand every rule watching your video. Thanks a bunch!
+Fred Sciarratta So glad the video was a help and that you had fun!
THANK YOU!!! Our minds were boggled by the instructions to this game (and the egg nog). This video was wonderful!
+Naomi Klinge It was my pleasure to assist Naomi! I hope you all had a great Christmas and have a great time playing!

Love Ticket to Ride, this looks easily as fun and easy to learn.
+Neil Hale Thanks for checking out the video!
Great video- excellently written, presented and edited
Thank you kindly ken!
Awesome, thanks! Great teach. (I'm going to play this tonight!)
I hope you have a fun time playing David!
Do you know where I can download the English instructions?
Great videos! We watch you from Czech Republic!
Hi David, I'm not sure. Perhaps on Board Game Geek's game page for it? Or the publisher's website?
Thank you for clarifying the 3 space lot cards as "either or".
+Lee Trout You're welcome :)

Thank you! This was a huge help to us. Excellent!
My complete pleasure! Glad you found it helpful.
Another great video!
Is the Forbidden Stars - How to Play video coming soon?
John Baylis Nope, not soon. Some other stuff previously on the schedule first (and that game is a BEAST!)
***** Oh well - I understand. Thank you for all your videos!
John Baylis My pleasure!
For reasons unknown to me, the name of this game made me think of the game Tammany Hall. I've never played it but I really want to.
Thnx Rodney gonna get this at Essen now the rules are clear !
+Sebastiaan Kuijs Have a great Essen!
thanks for this video. Really clear and useful
+sonia You're very welcome Sonia!

@@wondermot2780 No worries at all, glad it got sorted! :)
I don't know if anyone has asked about this, but what happens if there is a tie in buildings when determining the street bonus?
+Pedro Mascarenhas Belo Great question! No points are awarded in the case of a tie.
So Rodney, when a player takes the "Acquire Lot and/or Building Action", taking a lot card and placing the worker onto it, they may immediately build on that same lot, or do they have to wait a turn for that particular worker?
+Rob Dingman They can build on it right away. For further clarification, see here: ruclips.net/video/49W1sEg72-s/видео.htmlm46s

Looks like a fun game :)
So...why now the blue meeple is upside down? =P Am I missing something?
Rafael Borges It's from the "Watch It Played!" logo. You can see it in gameplay videos, or as the user icon for this channel. The blue meeple is representing the exclamation point at the end, hence it's upside down (its head is the dot).
Thanks, I know. But, only recently he is putting the meeple this way... =P

Hehehe. I comment because... who knows... could be a side quest point the difference. =P
thanks
does anyone know what happens if one player cannot play?
In the unlikely event that a player has no unused Workers left at the start of his turn AND it is impossible for him to build or demolish, that player must select 1 of their lots of land occupied by a Worker; the player must return the corresponding Lot Card (color and size) to the bottom of the Future Market pile; and reclaim the Worker. Does the tilted board mess with anybody else? Clarification: the board is straight, I mean the image on it.
It is an interesting angle isn't it?
