  • For this episode I spoke to singer, songwriter and producer Dijon.
The LA-based artist has been doing his best to stay as proactive as possible during the pandemic. In May he released his latest solo project ‘How Do You Feel About Getting Married?’ alongside his first production credit for Charli XCX’s ‘pink diamond’, the opening track from her latest album ‘how I’m feeling now’. And last month he dropped ‘mothership coming’ a collection of experimental music on Bandcamp, with all of the proceeds going to support the Black Woman’s Blueprint, The Okra Project, NAACP, Afrorack and Black Lives Matter LA (lilithsbrood.b....
We caught up over FaceTime from his home in Highland Park, where he was very candid about his creative journey so far, and how studying literature and underground hip-hop would lead him on a quest towards making music that feels necessary.

Thank you for the interview. It's the fist I've found from Dijon. I fell in love with his music just before his "album" came out. Over the course of the last few weeks, he's become one of my favorite artists. I can't wait for the entire world to find out about him.

i cannot believe i just found this, dijon is scary relatable in so many ways. the tug and pull of being a perfectionist and trying to keep it simple speaks so much weight with myself and with what i personally struggle with when creating something for myself, also with comparing my skill level with others and running into inspiration rather than looking for it.
