    I spent ages trying to find a video of a good review / tour of a 2014 Mazda 6, I am so glad I found yours.
    This was very enjoyable to watch, thank you for putting the effort into doing it.

    Haha I wonder if all the people who leave negative comments just go around all day leaving negative comments, but good review!

    I actually debating between Mazda6 vs. Accord vs. Sonata Limited (non turbo).. but man, I don't know which way to go. I'm starting to read bad reviews about Sonata (steering, transmission, poor mpg), and Accord (transmission issues w/ cvt). So, any insight? The Sonatas' are heavily discounted. 21k for a Limited seems a steal!! But I worry about reliablity.. and now I discouvered this Mazda6! lol.. makes my life harder to figure what to buy!

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    I was considering buying. I'm looking for a fuel efficient mid size. But the road noise was too much. It gets annoying at some point.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    Would you mind sharing the things you like more importantly the things you don't like so far? And I still think the noise in the cabin is not as good as some of the other competitors.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    Thanks, I'm going to try the sport trim too. See if the wind noise was because of the sun roof. I have to say that the New Accord was much quieter but really not fun to drive. And the seats were horrible (at least for me). I have to find the time to edit the video I made for the accord.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    I think I agreed about all the stuff you mentioned.I agree it's a nice looking car, the transmission/engine work really well, and it handles well.Only problem this car has is road/wind noise.People need to be aware and take it for a test drive on the highway not just city to see if it fits their standard.As for the terms,body roll, under steer etc,Frankly I'm sure a lot of people don't really know the term. By describing the feeling, I believe it appeal to more people.Anyway thanks for watching!

    The only engine they have for the new 2014 model is the 184-hp, SKYACTIV-G 2.5L. We're still waiting for the Diesel (for the US MARKET), they say it will only show up in mid 2014. I'm pretty proud about this review, Consumer Reports did not mention the road noise at initial impression and in later videos after I published mine they said how loud the cabin is. Also just FYI I'll put it out there,I think the Sonata SE 2.0 Turbo is way more fun to drive(MPG much worse though). Thank you so much!

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    I read what people at the forum were saying, Seems like it's a quality control issue with a seal in the window. What's more concerning is the experience at the dealer. I also wonder if the Mazda I drove had a quality control issue because the noise was specifically more pronounced on the passenger side. Frankly I think for both I'm waiting for 2nd year run. I'm hoping the Mazda diesel is not too expensive compared to the regular gas. Seems like an interesting choice.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    Thank you. I don't know, probably within the next few weeks. By the way, Car & Driver has a match between the two in the June issue. They picked the Mazda6 over the Accord (not by much), but some of their stats seems off. So you never know with these magazines.

    has mazda any problems with rust ? or did they corrected it ?!

  • @dixie11
    @dixie11 11 лет назад

    Test drove both, ended up leasing the Altima. Here are the reasons.
    MPG is better in Altima
    Engine performance is practically the same, mazda slightly quicker from 0-60
    Ride is more comfy in the altima
    Price for altima was 100 dollars less monthly then the Mazda
    Altima is a better car for the value IMO. I replaced the overly chrome grill on my altima to a jet black grill, looks 10 times better as well now.
    0 down, 250 a month for a SV trim altima, you cant beat it

    Have you done decibel testing for any other cars? Looking to buy a mid-sized sedan but they all seem loud compared to the Buick Verano. Would love to see any numbers you have.

  • @justmike333
    @justmike333 11 лет назад

    Its not noisy. I drive mine daily on multiple surfaces and it's great, even quieter than my bmw 330 Ci. If you want a boring family sedan then get an accord or camry. If you are a car driving enthusiast this is for you . Great lines and materials used.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    No I haven't. My next test would be the 2013 Accord. From what I hear it's the most sound proof in the segment (as well as active noise canceling). We'll see what the sensor says...

  • @MrMikerinnj
    @MrMikerinnj 11 лет назад

    I am in the market for a mid-size. Have my list down to the Madza 6 and the Honda Accord. Great review of the 6. When will you be reviewing the Accord.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    It wasn't about the negative comment, it was about the name calling. No review will be perfect just like no car will be. My reviews are Objective and honest but also subjective. If you read the comments you would see that I like the car very much (with the exception of the wind noise, that's major to me and again subjective). Happy YouTubing.

  • @ureviews

    I test drove the Sonata a few times. The GLS and the SE with the turbo the SE felt like a totally different car. If you are considering the Sonata check out the SE, I thought it was very nice. Quiet comfortable ride.
    It really is a tough call, you have to test drive both of them and see which one you like, but like i said the SE was tweaked a little that made is so much better.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    There is a difference between feeling the road and wind noise, in this case wind noise was really bad on my test car, I Urge any potential buyer to test drive and see if they care or not. I also thought the car had adequate power. (Certainly more power would have been nice)

    • @ureviews

      just shows you... different strokes for different folks. but to be clear I think the car is very attractive.

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    I test drove the Altima.... It rides nice, and it's quieter. But the Mazda6 is much more fun to drive. I'm also not crazy about the front grill of the Altima. I would totally test drive both if I were you. (I almost bought the Altima SV trim because of pricing, it's well equipped and right now you can get really good deals on it, unfortunately my older car didn't get me what I wanted and it's a fine car so I ended up postponing getting a new car)

    Wasn't the sun roof open the entire video? How can you complain of road noise when any window is open?

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    I ended up test driving an Accord. It didn't have the wind noise problem but it did have the rain noise problem :-p I was like hey I just read about it in a forum. Over all if they combined the 2 cars together we would have a super nice car. I'll give you a heads up, I won't be getting the Accord.

  • @senorkaboom
    @senorkaboom 11 лет назад

    You asked me to comment on the item, or items, I do not like about my 6. Well, there are a couple. One is the cup holder in the front console, I wish it was a bit deeper. 2, headroom in front. However, I knew that would be an issue with the moonroof feature and me being 6-1. I have never had a car yet that was ideal in all areas for my needs or wants. The 6 does meet my need for a distinctive look and for its lines. As for improvements, they will come as the car design grows.

I'm not buying until late June, so with my test drives, C&D review and others, plus your real world real user reviews, I will make an informed decision. Hopefully, I'll have your Accord review to compare against your 6 review.

    I did not test drive the Kia Optima SX but... I did test drive the Sonata SE 2.0T which has the same Turbo Engine, Excellent engine by KIA/Hyundai, If you prefer the power over the fuel economy and you can live without the adaptive cruise control which i don't believe KIA has, then It's a really tough choice. The Sonata was the quietest car I test drove so far.I should put the Optima on my to test list (But it's so expensive,I don't think it's worth the price,the sonata is heavily discounted)

  • @ureviews
    @ureviews  11 лет назад

    1. Yeah i know it just wasn't that important for me, plus it shows on the sticker.
    2. Size was ok it's the cut offs at the end that made for more blind spot.

  • @MacSaab93
    @MacSaab93 11 лет назад

    I test drove one of these this past weekend. I did find wind noise to be just slightly higher than my sister's 2012 Kia Optima but I think the engine noise up to 3500 rpm is lower. Overall I definitely wouldn't consider the car noisy for the class. Not the quietest but definitely not excessively noisy.

  • @05gtdriver

    I really trip out on most reviewer's opinion on most anything built today. There will never be a perfect car and every car has it's strengths as well as weaknesses. To me, it's mostly styling and engineering. Being the fastest isn't the most important aspect as it perhaps was 20 years ago for me. Something you enjoy looking at from any angle, drives as nicely as you'd expect and has the refinement you'd want. Make a checklist and you'll be happy more often than not...

  • @nebularealm
    @nebularealm 11 лет назад

    Great review. I was interested in this car until I heard how noisy it can be. I don't know why car manufacturers skimp on noise insulation considering that it would make their cars easier to sell. The noise level is a deal breaker for me. Maybe Mazda will fix this problem someday.

  • @MegaVector2011
    @MegaVector2011 10 лет назад

    Presumably that car is riding on 19" wheels. I'm assuming, as the American market by and large go with the bigger option. Try it on 17" wheels and with the diesel engine when you get it over in the States, you will find it less noisy. The European specced cars are totally different, 380lb foot of torque turbo diesels returning 60 mpg. It's a pity you don't have them.

    just as good gas mileage as the altima and accord, is cheaper than the altima and the fusion maybe around the same price range as the accord, only thing i didnt like much was the screen size and what i hear about road noise but i sure both can be overlooked Mazda 6 so far seems to be my top pick ill keep dibs on it for awhile to see if reviews alter before i buy it

  • @incyphe
    @incyphe 11 лет назад

    that's interesting, because I thought it's more of design flaw, and my fear is Honda may never be able to find a cost-effective fix for it. "Lexus LS460 wind noise" is another fun google search. Much of the LS460 problem stems from design flaw as they were never able to come up with proper fix even after many years.

    wow! i cant believe how picky people can be about car noises. I test drove this car and the noise level is ok. Actually, I owned a Speed6 and was way worse but like it. Being a motorcyle rider, cabin noise allows me to feel and anticipate potential issues. This car is beautiful. The only problem I found is that is underpowered.

    i think the mazda 6 surpasses all others in its segment so far maybe not the best in all areas but its good enough, road noise imo can be fixed but will take money from out of your own pocket for special door and window sills but if you really think about it this car is probably quieter than most cars around maybe its not the quietest but surely once you turn on the radio you wont have to worry about it

    Good review for not being professional. However, you complained too much about road noise. Mazda is a well known company for making sporty vehicles, and part of that is getting the driver connected to the road, so it's normal to have road noise in this type of car. The other thing: Man, this is a Mazda, not a Maybach. You should expect to find some plastic, and by the way it doesn't have a lot of plastic, and the price is really good for what you are getting. But, like I salid, good review.

      Unfortunately, English is not my first language, so sometimes, weirdness creeps in :) No worries, I'm all for freedom of expression as long as it doesn't become name calling etc (Which you didn't).
      Like I said in my other comments, there may be a quality control issue with the sealing because some people complain of noise and some don't. At the end, it's up to the person who buys the car to decide what's acceptable for them.

  • @senorkaboom

    I just bought a Mazda6 and find it to be no more noisy than any other midsize car I drove. If you want quiet, buy a Lincoln or Cadillac. This car is, by my definition, a sport luxury car, not a luxury car.

    I have one of these and the noise is no way near what this car has. I think you got a bad one. We hear minimal noise when we go over small road obstructions but nothing like this car exhibits. Also we are getting 40-42 on the hwy mpg. Conservative driving of course.

    • @ureviews
      @ureviews  11 лет назад

      The noise may have been an anomaly, or a difference in different lines of manufacturing, it seems some people think there's noise some say there isn't. So my suggestion is if you go test one, and if you decide to order the car make sure you get the one you tested. Again noise is subjective, also the frequency of the noise matters, I could be very sensitive to the specific frequency of noise this car makes and less annoyed at noise other cars make. So again, people need to go and test the car. Reviews are great before you go to dealers to figure out what to look for when you do test drive it.

    now lets compare the nissan altima 13 even though with its good gas mileage and look good i read it rattles abit when driving at high speeds, the honda accord 13 seems good but i heard they had radio and road noise issues and im not impressed with the look kinda plain to me, the fusion is good as i have read it quiet but the gas mileage numbers are off, the passat well i havent really look too much into it because frankly its not my style, and the mazda 6 looks just as good as the fusion has

    Yes, the hump is unattractive. I have seen that design element on other cars and it is troublesome to look at. The windshield has an extreme rake which makes entry far more difficult. Not good to sacrifice entry/exit ergonomics for looks. I have a VW CC which also has the terrible raked windshield which I despise. As far as I am concerned, the steeply raked windshield is a deal KILLER.

    Fusion is too soft. Not much of a drivers car. Fuel economy is much better on the Mazda. Vehicle dynamics are fantastic in the Mazda where the Fusion is simply dull. I won't even go into Ford's MyTouch system, it's a disaster. Enjoy you new car :)
