This was a blessing for your band. If this didn't happen, this story wouldn't have been in my feed. I was not familiar with your band. Now your band is one of my favs...💚🎸
Glad to see the statement on this. A truck driver I used to know liked to say "The road to breakthrough is paved with setbacks." This is just a setback for you.
I'm in York, PA and I enjoyed Gordon's talent and energy while performing in a tribute band. And got to talk a little bit after the show. I wish you guys all the best. ✌️🤟
Good interview. 👍 These things sadly happen to bands. Some bands work well together. Others flex power. It costs everyone extra money when these events happen. Live and learn. Images of Eden have bounced back on the road quite well. Good for them.
Gordon so happy the story is finally out there for the world to see/hear. Clearly Blackie is past any kind of prime he ever had; the smoke and mirrors masking the state of his real voice isn't fooling anyone with a brain cell at this point. Fragile ego that couldn't stand being upstaged by the superior opening act at the three shows you got to do sent him over the edge, in my opinion, and resulted in IOE being terminated from the tour. It's all good though-back better than ever and ready for the 2024 tour(s) !!! Loving the new single, can't wait for the whole album. You guys rule. Much love and respect.
My father always said never outshine the boss, he'll find an excuse to fire you. Gordon, you DOMINATE, rock on brother. I've seen you guys live and you KICK ASS. I am not surprised WASP felt the sting of IOE.
🙈 I didn't know about all those rules 🤔 I just thought all of you went out on the stage and do your show..get your stuff and then it's the next bands time to play 🤘 all bands have their own thing how to perform 😀 We all read between the lines 👍 best wishes for you all 🙏😍🤘
From someone who's worked with W.A.S.P. in the past I'm not surprised, Blackie has a "My way or the highway" attitude. Having said that, it's possible he has some clowns working for him on tour.
The fact that WASP asked you guys to tone it down would have been the biggest red flag to me. Any feature act worth its salt would say " Oh shit, they are killing it, we have to step it up a notch."
I'm glad I was not the only 1 thinking this! I've supported my share of national artists and 30 minutes seems to be pretty standard. Not saying IOE was wrong, but things might have gone differently if they wouldn't have told WASP's camp no and did one more song anyways.
Having studied extensively, WASP's live shows, I'm heavily of the opinion that it's not just Blackie's vocals being streamed in. I'd go so far to say Priester is the only band member playing live. What a sorry state.
If Blackie doesn't like to be upstaged by the opening band then why not just pick a shitty band to tour with. Clearly that is NOT Images of Eden so just pick a rookie band that has never played Live before. There! Problem Solved! Love you guys Gordon and Steve, friends of mine for years. Keep doing what you're doing. God Bless You!
I have to play devil's advocate on this 1 and argue that there are 2 sides to every story. While it sounds like we all know that the WASP camp is full of divas and jerks. We also all know WASP uses backing tracks by a simple Google search (Respect to Gordon for not saying it outright). However, as a musician who has worked with and supported their fair share of nationals I have to say, IOE should have walked off that stage the second the WASP camp told them that they had gone over their set time. Gordon said himself that WASP is what gave them this platform. At the end of the day, that sold out crowd from across the pond was there to see WASP, not IOE. Telling them "No" and doing that extra song was downright disrespectful to the headlining act regardless of what was agreed upon. Their singer should have respected what the headliners wanted, walked back on stage, thanked the crowd, said good night, and got off stage! Then, before the next show they should have discussed how they are supposed to have more time and hashed it out before show 2. It sounds like the support stepped on the headliners toes and put a bad taste in their mouth from the very 1st show. Then, the whole camera situation on top of WASP already being divas was probably the final straw. I can't help but wonder if the whole situation would have been handled a little more gracefully if the main act was shown the respect they deserved from the very beginning..... Literally everyone who was there was there because of WASP after all.... but I don't know every detail, so maybe I am wrong. I mean absolutely no disrespect to the IOE crew or WASP and have nothing but love, but it sounds like a lot of things could have been handled a little more professionally on both sides of the fence.
This is a good point. However, I just recently learned (after doing this interview) that the crew member who was trying to push us off stage discovered he was wrong right after our set and apologized for his oversight (which I was not there to see). Even if this did leave a bad taste in their mouths (and taking the camera situation into consideration), firing us from the tour was a seriously extreme overreaction. 2+2 did not equal 4 and there was definitely more involved. Their communication was so horrible everywhere across the board, I am shocked things went as well as they did.
@@imagesofeden That is great to hear that they realized they were the ones in the wrong and apologized! However, as I said before. Regardless of what was agreed upon and who was in the wrong, I could totally see how it could be seen as a kind of diva move to tell them no and do 1 more song anyways. Had you walked off the stage as they asked and then they realized they were in the wrong you would have looked better in their eyes and been more on their good side. It just didn't seem like a team player kind of thing to do. I'm not hating on you guys in anyway, but I do think you could own up to the possibility that you guys might have done something wrong as well. In any case, I do agree that firing you guys was very much an overreaction. The whole thing sounds like it could have been hashed out with an adult conversation. So, I do agree that the situation was unfair to you guys. I suppose my point is just that there are 2 sides to every story and perhaps you guys could have handled things slightly differently as well. It would have been nice to see some ownership of that (and I apologize if you did in this interview and I missed it), but from what I heard you make it sound like WASP just basically decided they didn't like you for no reason and bullied you off the tour.
@@AnonEntertainment69 Totally get your take on this and I cannot disagree with you. It probably would have been more respectful. That said, if that incident rubbed them the wrong way that badly and to the point to where they considered removing us from the tour (especially considering they apologized for being in the wrong), then IMO, either they were looking for a reason to fire us or (again IMO) they would have fired us for anything anytime along the way, because that was a ridiculously petty reason to fire a band. I have a hard time believing this was the catalyst.
@@imagesofeden I am sure you are right as you obviously know more about the situation than I do. I just stumbled upon this interview and was curious to watch. Then, you asked for thoughts and comments and I couldnt help but put my unbiased opinion here. As someone who has worked with national artists and tours myself, you for sure committed one of those "Dont's" that you were talking about when you talked about do's and dont's. Then, it seems like the 2 camps had some friction afterwards. I am sure you are right and that was not the catalyst, however I do find it hard to believe the 2 arent correlated in some way at least a little..... But again thats just my unbiased 2 cents on the matter.
This is very typical of Blackie, always been a bully. He pulled rock star nonsense on a lot of bands including Metallica, KISS, Slayer and Armored Saint, to name a few. He pulled bullshit on Lemmy and Lemmy knocked him on his ass

Not many support bands get 40 mins sets, seems like a lack of communication somewhere
