Well apparently the diplomatic protection wing of the met police do have override authority over normal officers, and I can understand why. people might not like the monarchy but thats not just what the SEG does.
Met police was not stopped?. They spoke with hand signals. Seems like they was on a urgent not life threatening call. I was on a blue call with the London ambulance service and let through. If you see in the clip. Met was helping as they knew it would be a few mins max to wait.

You have no idea of riding a bike at 70mph in London, expecting all junctions ahead to be clear, while on escort duty, when suddenly a met bike on a call rides straight in front of you! Aside from whether the MET should have stopped or not, if they were responding to an emergency and did not pose a security risk, because the street was closed but they had time to pass without disturbing the escort, they should have been allowed to pass.

I am sure that the King has undergone specific training in some aspects of this, but he would lack the experience to apply it safely.

Apart from that only emergency service drivers are exempt from the Road Traffic Act. Speed limits, keep left bollards, traffic lights, etc.

The two officers on bnlue light would've cleared the area before the SEG cars arrived, so why stop them?. It just shows that they believe those in the car are better than everyone else otherwise the blue light bikes would've been allowed to progress to their incident - its not like they just stick the blue lights on and race through the city for fun - they were on a priority call, only to be stopped to allow a priviledged person get somewhere without stopping.

Anybody wonders if they would stop anything, a number of years ago I was driving a Fire appliance on way to a call when we met Princess Fergie's protection escort coming out the entrance gates to Dashwood House.
