Greeley deserves this platform the amount he has done for the Australian hip hop and music scene would go unnoticed by a lot of people
Man's HUGE couldn't miss him 😂
My thoughts exactly
I see you pop up a lot in the comments brother. You’re always putting out support and positivity , it’s refreshing.
Great channel too , loved the ay huncho doco.
@@joshibrahim1537 Thankyou brother!! I’m glad you enjoy my videos I’ve got a lot more too come
This 100%
Now this is what all Greeley fans wanted, cheers Spanian for getting legends on !
On a cold winters day 2 kids on opposite sides of town, one white and one Aboriginal, are kicked out of home and onto the streets, and after both spending the day trying to find somewhere to crash, neither are in luck, and now the sun is down and the temperature has dropped even lower, the Aboriginal kid is starving and freezing and not doing well at all, while, luckily for the white the kid, she is not a victim of the gap, meaning a larger percentage of white people are free from these problems in comparison to Aboriginal people, and so the food that they are eating magically fills her belly and the warmth from their heaters magically warms her body, and she is all good, because that's how reality works, individual suffering does not matter, all that matters is the state of being of the average member of your race!
......in other words; fuck Andrew Greeley!
Greeley has to be one of if not the best ambassador for Australian Hip Hop.. he holds it down.. and spreads the love where needed.. underrated boss man
💯

Greely an OG in the game. Mad respect brother!
Brooklyn knows everything.. we know Greely.. facts .... all love from UN Gang 718
How great to have someone tell the story, this will drive interest in the OG scene and no doubt will help the culture. Favourite one so far
I reckon this was one of the best ones yet. The knowledge Greely has of the Aussie hip hop scene is hectic. Big Spanian strikes again. 🤙🏼
Crazy all the specific dates, people and places he can just reel off the top of his head

This was my fav episode to date.

Hearing the knowledge that Greeley laid down was epic and a great way to remember the last.
Well done S!
Spanian please start a "podcast network" and give greely a show
Like what Bouris said?... Like multiple artists under the Span brand/network. Would be sick. Could listen to Greelz yarn all day.
It’s amazing how the first couple senescence’s he says is giving span props for what his done! Just shows what a legend Greeley is ❤️
That scribble jam battle that justice took out is pretty epic, he killed em, to bad he’s studio albums couldn’t be compared

Yesss! Been listening to big Greeley for years, one of my favourite artists from hosting battles, dcorp cypher sessions to rapping with complete
Big ups to Greelz for making the tas hip hop scene what is today, no one in aus rap puts in the work he does for the scene nation wide in terms of networking, connecting people and putting new rappers on.
Also 100% get Caine on the poddy, his story is absolutely mental. Been through alot and come a long way in life. His podcast with Darren petty was insane.
Just started watching and will Finnish after dinner. Can not believe this we moved down from Western Sydney to Tassie in 05 and proud of who we are . People like yourselves are true people that we grew up with . Keep the blood strong and Thankyou boys for giving my brother and I hope .
Good talk, culture and respect with understanding , listening and good food is pure happiness . Rap , Funk , Break Dance and all the good stuff is an expression . Can't wait to get back to Sydney for a holiday for feeds that we miss thanks to culture. Keep the educational stuff going . Thankyou .
Talking shit lad

Greely is a king. Hip hop/rap has always been on the scene in tassie. Tassie had the longest running hip hop shop in the world once on radio and was only knocked off by a show in Germany.
Greely would of been I’m primary school. No dis, when I was ringing up city park radio giving shout outs. I’ve always rapped and watched greely come up. He’s a legend!!!
Sesta and Sketchy Honz were funkoars also. Greeleys great.

3ree6ixty, Kerser, Complete, That Kid Kearve, Manu Crooks, Fraksha would all be sick guests
15:47 thats spot on ... Sydney has its own scene more recently compared to the earlier success from Adelaide and Melbourne tho demographics are different in so many ways. Tassie has been its own beast for a long time just like the Perth scene and more recently the Brisbane scene. Aussie Rap and HipHop has been pretty successful 💯🫡
I was a bit late to this one but f$ck that was a good podcast, loved this insight n appreciation from both of them. Greeley’s knowledge of our hip hop history is mint!
RIP Pat Stay 🙏🏼
bro I used to battle writtens on ozhiphop forums, what a mad nostalgia trip
So glad this finally happened! ❤️❤️
Awesome interview oysies! Love to hear from someone who connects the dots from where things originated from to today. I remember this time in high school everyone would get around like there was a fight but it'd be a rap battle. It was all love at the end of the day. Great work Spanian keep it up brother 👏 💯

Respect from china
Interesting to hear this guys take on the origins of Oz HipHop,but truth be told, that whole era of kerser,360,hoods etc etc pretty much symbolised an early death of the foundations that were slowly been built in an intergal manner by the likes of authentic artists like kilowatts, def wish cast, sir wrek, mass mc,lyrical commission, clandestine etc etc.Underground artists, real emcees, lyricists that lived and breathed the culture and loved hiphop, not stood on it's back trying to chase clout and views. These artists target audiences were other heads involved in the culture and weren't concerned with targeting an audience of disenfranchised drug addicts and petty criminals with no ties to the actual culture of Hip-Hop it's self. What people need to understand that views don't equate to credibility or talent. The market nowadays in the Oz scene is saturated by alot of gronks that can't rap for shit and spew out material that lacks and substance and conceptual depth,In short, this new era has pretty much cost the australian hiphop scene dearly, truly setting it back 20 plus years. That there is the keystone reason alot of older heads haven't got the time of day for today's market of talentless dime a dozen up and coming artists.
Hip hop only moves in one direction. How it once was to where its destined to end up. All over the world as well. Maybe it will end up somewhere different next but certainly it wont move backwards. The old days are gone. That's how it goes.
My opinion is that a genre of music that holds a core fundamental rooted in struggle will always struggle with itself. Its part of its DNA. Even the boys just practically pointed this out. Aussie Hip Hop could not have just been simply gate kept by some 'old heads' till the end of time. Eventually a gun is going to be fired and bodies will start dropping because adversity comes in endless forms that not everyone wants to overcome. But everyone will certainly find a way to embrace it, which is about the only common positive aspect that could be agreed on here.
I just want to point out I really don't like where it has gone either but I knew this long ago and haven't listened to it or participated in roughly a decade. A great decision though because I actually enjoy all the music I listen to now instead of debating and complaining about how its presented to me and trying to assess its 'realness' every two seconds. Every other genre of music is real, and that's a given, but some how not with hip hop. Instead we all hold it to some merit based on 'realness' that no one can seem to really agree on. Don't we all know by now that music is a subjective experience? Shouldn't that be the most beautiful thing about it?
You know what will kill any form of gangster rap, though? This should make you feel better too, or at least a bit less jaded. Like everyone before them and everyone to come, anyone who makes it rich from a hip hop that's is about poverty and violence will loose the only thing that gave it value in the first place, its core fundamental, a struggle. Artists loose their subject matter then people loose their interest. Happens every time so just wait it out.
Its great Spanion does not rap anymore and does what he does now. Its a much better way to help himself and help the people around him improve themselves, all while never having to run away from anything in his past. Instead, he takes hold of it and understands what role it plays in his life now. To be honest, this right here is more in line with the basic old school values of hip hop and he does it all without having to spit a single bar.
BOSS
Big ups for putting Hobart out there

Fkn amazing watch bro, was captivated from start to finish!
This was one of the best interviews love Greeley he’s a gee always gonna be one if the best Aussie rappers all ways a og in my mind and opinion keep it up gee ❤
Australian hip hop went from a sort of underground niche genre or movement to a more mainstream scene in the last ten years thanks to grime and drill wave. It’s a good thing since a lot of other countries had a more mainstream hiphop scene for a while now while australia was lagging behind but cought up. Still a long way to go up.
The Graff Scene has always been world class.
THAT WAS THE BEST GREELY IS ENGAGING AS FUCK
Honestly, trem and kaye.
Kaye is fucking fire bra
kaye from newy is killa
Kaye would make a Interesting Guest, Especially with his History from Music and Especially Graffiti
