Science of...Gar

Nebraska is home to around 100 species of fish, one of the oddest-looking fish are the gar. Nebraska is home to two species of gar- the Shortnose Gar, and the Longnose Gar. They are the only surviving members of the Ginglymodi, a clade of fish that first appeared over 240 million years ago in the Triassic.
