@@theAussie01 Nice to know! Sorry that i dont care...! Like you should dont care about the fact that i think you are a Kook (despite the board you Ride)! cheers
Great posting. I'm looking forward to discovering more about some of the swell that Brazil catches. Some of these breaks don't even seem to be swells as I recognize them. It's as if the ocean pulls water from the shore while folding in on itself. No real back to the wave. So much water pounding down. In a way I am glad I learned to surf in the 1970's. No jetski, flotation vests, just you, your knowledge, your skills, and ability vs mother nature. Knowing when to go and finding the takeoff spot was on you. Now almost any wave is rideable, by the brave. Cheers to all of the chargers !!
I agree with you, my first surfboard was in the early 80s, after watching so much surfing on Ipanema beach in Rio de Janeiro where I was born. We have 7367 km of coastline, that is.....there are a lot of waves. It's no coincidence that we have so many champions.
Thanks buddy. I've been to Brazil. I was invited by three girls I met in San Diego, but I didn't have my board. It's a beautiful country with some world class breaks. Plus it is populated by some very kind people@@yassirchediak
This island is located inside the Guanabara bay, on Niteroi city side. When you enter the bay, with the open sea on your back, you have Rio de Janeiro city on the left side, and Niteroi city on the right. Imagine the strength of the swell and the precise direction needed, for you to have such massive waives breaking inside a closed bay!! It's very, very rare; reason why this session was so special.
No. Actually the description you gave is more for the "Beast" slab, on the entrance of guanabara bay that has also fired this swell. This one is in an island in front of Itaipu beach in Niterói in the oceanside of the city, north of the bay entrance. Mother Island is a rare break because it needs SE swell and SW winds to get perfect wich is rare. We usually have more S and SW swells across the year and to get this this big is like once every 5 years. There are lots of videos being released about this most recent storm that brought some very gnarly waves in this two breaks, and lots of other rare waves.
@CAYDEN CORREIA stand up....seriously. As kids we used bodyboards, by age nine progression in the water dictated standing up. You can't surf....admit it. Too challenging for you. Anyway...don't tell anyone to stay out of the water , you are lucky surfers tolerate you bodyboarders.
1:22 to 1:40 at first I thought that was a guy flying over the falls and down with the lip and I'm thinking you're dead but a review reassured me it wasn't. The sponger wisely bailed his board early and went full davy jones locker to get under that freaking slab it was a bodyboard
Dudu Pedra you are the man! paddling!! Sick...!!! Representing bodyboard in the best way!

Kids bodyboard only where I live in Australia. Stand up to be counted. Anyway do what you do but it's lame and for children .

@@theAussie01 tell us what slabs you charge in Oz and I'll turn up and raise you on my lid.
Massive props to the sponger!!!
Probably the only one to paddle in for the whole session balls of steel 👊😡
always great when the music lines up with the wave. good song choice.
Shipsterns on a small day with death music. The music's more scarey than the wave lol
It's like a smaller shippies, just a savage of a wave
Solid! Brazzos Charge!!! I’m trying to imagine Jon Jon and Nathan’s Angle on this Slab
Would be the best video ever
the island in the background and the evening light make the shots insane and scary. Great music!
Wow, what a beautiful and powerful wave...great photography;awesome. Frbjr 😎🏖️🇺🇸 🍀☘️
if it wasn't for the backdrop I would 100% believe this is Cape Solander. They look identical, just minus the inside section haha
WINDHAND!!! Man I love this band. Love surf. Never thought of the two of them combined before

The fishes jumping out the wave at 02:30 LMFAO. Heavy shit.
They aren’t jumping out for no reason, somethings chasing them in the swells.
Looks like a great bodysurfing, bodyboarding wave!
Watching the goofy footers getting destroyed was best part.
LOL
true, but we get plenty of entertainment watching you left foot forward kooks get your fair share of pumpings everywhere else 🤣
A masterclass in filming and editing. Chapeau Pedro Rolon.
The editing is as basic as it gets.

Super cool scenery, scary wave, great vid ☠☠
From the sugar loaf mountain in Rio you can see this island. Another world class spot for sure.
Would’ve like to see some more carnage in this edit
This was excellent. Thank you
these surfers are getting really good at claiming bodyboard things like this spot and this song
Sick video.
Why negative comment ?
Go cry somewhere else .

I’ve been in bigger surf, but the amount of water coming over the falls on this wave is scary!
So cool for brazilians to have their own Shipstern!
The real mad men go left there
Brazilian Teahupoo 💥💥💥
Totally enjoyed the music with th scarry ass waves........so nice! Rather watch then do these slabs.......beautiful. Ty.
Music is spot on
Great, one question why do so many rides get clipped just when you want to see what happens next
Not the only film ive seen this happens
Got the title spot on.🔥
That’s slabtastic! -Superbad
Those boogie boarders were paddling in I don’t care what you ride that’s insane.
SLAB! 4:00 props to the Bodyboarders for the late drops
Such a scary as is super unpredictable like ship sterns but replace the steps with chandelier
this video made me aware that there is such thing as doom metal and that I like it
Horror slab is good description
4:00 Jello slab
There must be more slabs and point breaks in Brazil - such a big coastline one facing the North Atlantic the other the South.
Sandy's Half Point on the LOWEST tide 2.0
Looks Scary, respect to the chargers.
So with the same music but with better wave there is the one on shark island for IBA 😅
How is this even possible!?

No word because I know very well what is a big wave.
Brutal wave.
Reminds me of the waves at Shipstern Bluff

Those fish know this wave better then anybody. They so local they bust airs through the lip not off the lip like us kooks.
Great music.
hungry monster
Oh my
H.E.A.V.Y.
How is this new?
To my untrained Kook eye, that wave profile and weight looks eerily similar to the one Billy Kemper got injured on in Morocco
