I've got one, it's a really awesome set, but a bit of a monster of a build. A majority of the parts count increase comes from the brickbuilt terrain that replaces the old raised baseplate.
Amazing video! I love your animations, they bring back so many good memories. Allways fun to watch. I can't imagine all the hours that went into making this. How do you build the sets like you do, starting with layers? In the instructions you build modules, but how do you manage to build it by layers and still get all the pieces correct? Do you have a 3D program you use and separate all the bricks into layers? I have always wondered how you do that 🙂
Maybe that is the way he did it, but then he had to reverse the motion of the mini-figures too, right? Seems like a lot of planing, but it very might be the way it was done :-)@@JorisKoolen
Hello, thank you for your comment! No, I do it with instruction but indeed bigger sets are much difficult to do. I have to plan it a little bit before. I always build the set one before to show how it's made. During my video I have to change often the pages of instruction. The most difficult it's to do some Star Wars sets because sometimes the low part of starwars ships are made later in the construction so it's difficult to do it really from the bottom. Sets like Slave I or Millennium Falcon was not easy to do.
Thank you for answering. That is insane how complicated it sounds. You are amazing that can do this. I am always so impressed by your animations. But as one person mentioned, building it backward, would work too? Have you ever tried that? Like just pulling the pieces off from the top and reversing it in editing? @@BricksPlanet
Do you do these videos by taking these sets apart, then reversing the footage or do you build them from the ground up actually in the footage (please respond. I’m really curious)
@@BricksPlanet your videos are entertaining yet somehow you’re not taking the easy way out. I love your videos keep up the good work extremely entertaining.
So which one do you prefer??, this one or the original? How much do you rate this one on a scale of 10? I've bought it and it's amazing, clearly for adults, it takes hours to build it!! Cons: The crane is too big imo, i prefer the old monkeys and palmtrees... Pros: The amount of details everywhere, the secret passage, the hidden chest and letter and the little boats Thanks for your awesome videos!!!
Difficult to chose. For sûre the new one has much more détails so this is great. Old one is the real nostalgia. Bouton layer is really cool but finally not payable when the fortess is closed and thé way to open the fortess is à little bit anoying. Monter was much better before :)
I don't have experience with the old one. However I'd say my preference would be that it depends on who I'd be buying it for. The old one is a much better playset, as the raised baseplate and use of big castle pieces makes it easier to build and a bit more sturdy. The new one, which I have, is an excellent homage to the original, maintaining the feel of the old while also introducing a higher level of detail and new features (including its modular construction and hidden areas), but it's a far more complex build, weighs a lot more and some of the assemblies are a bit questionable in terms of structural integrity.
I saw this set at the Lego store in Amsterdam and thought this was the old Imperial Trading post for a moment 😂
Samee
The included merchant sloop is actually a remake of the one from the Imperial Trading Post, so I'm not surprised.
@@VestedUTuber yeah true
You allways deliver with these videos. Nothing but respect for time and effort you do with making these fantastic animations and build up style ❤
Thank you very much for your warm comment
This set is amazing! Loved the old school vibes!
Well now I reaaaallllly want this set. Looks like such a high quality remake of the original. Imperials vs Pirates was one of the best themes

Cool
I'm late, but the wait was worthy! I can't imagine how much hours you spent filming this!
Thanks. About 50 hours :)

Hmm what did you sa there ? 😀
@@BricksPlanet the loose hand! Anyway, love your pirate vids, and my kids love then too!

Cool set, I just ordered extra flags and Governors hats & torsos on Pick a Brick 👌
I too ordered extra flags , governor and soldiers, cannot have too many soldiers in one colour/uniform
Ciekawe jaki kolejny zestaw z klasycznych Lego Piratów otrzyma remake. Fajnie jakby był to statek niebieskich żołnierzy.
Uwazam ze ostatnio mamy sport tego miedzy piratami i rycerzami 😀 nie wiem czy cos jeszcze bedzie.

@@BricksPlanet Yeah thanks for the answer, it's crazy impressive, especially with the two (or more?) frames of every brick you put down!

Hello. I build them from the ground up actually in footage. Sometimes it's dfficiult because instruction not always stars from the bottom to the top
