I actually didn't really mind Kassouf's play here, it's not like he's calling him names or anything. Just stay silent and he will eventually have to take action because someone else called clock. Sure he could have stopped trying to get info from him but...its not like he was disrespecting him or anything... Check your privilege? What privilege is he supposed to check?
We are a little split on this too. Kassouf is kinda a rude jerk let's make that very clear, however the verbal dressing down was extra to say the least.
Calling Bengers remarks a knockout punch is hilarious. I can’t stand Will but if you can’t keep your shit together against even the worst of assholes at the poker table then you have no business sitting at the table. I mean really? Verbal abuse? Check your privilege? What a crybaby.
I would have thought that, in a game where you bluff opponents to try to make them fold or throw more of their money into the pot, an unwritten rule would be "never trust your opponents". Hellmuth has nobody to blame but himself for trusting Tony and walking right into the trap.
My 2 cents on the classic "It's Poker, Phil": Sure, many may say that Tony was angle shooting, but it's also Phil's responsibility to watch and know if Tony looked. If Tony truly hadn't looked and still had a better hand, then isn't the outcome the same? I also find it hilarious that Phil and his coach didn't notice Tony look, sounds like an ametuer mistake.
Tony G vs Hellmuth is the best to watch. He’s right, it’s poker why would you expect him to tell the truth lol. The difference between them is Tony doesn’t treat everybody badly, hellmuth does for the most part
Brilliance of course. Isn't a large percent of poker lieing? I mean... Bluffing is lieing as well as many other aspects of betting. Plus Phil went all in to take advantage of the situation. So that's no less of a crooked move. All in all, it's gambling and telling the truth or bluffing before the final reveal at the end of the hand, is the name of the game. Phil just got outplayed and got his feelings hurt..... again.
Yes the only time it's considered too far is when you lie about something being an accident For example a guy pretended he said call by accident and meant to fold because he wasn't overly fluent in English which obviously ended up being a lie. That's pretty scummy to lie about something that isn't related to the game

Pot calling the kettle kettle black…what kinda etiquette is it when a player offers to loan you 50k take it then throw it back at them and say I don’t accept it 😂
I'm on Hellmuths side on this. Not to mention the crap he talks after the hand is done..what has Tony G really accomplished in poker. No question what Phill has done over his poker career.. Tony G's a punk in my book.. he may be wealthy but he's a turd.😂
Well put. We're just fascinated by the battling and the absolutely extreme moments they continue to generate over the years.

Phil is an infant. He whine, moans and complains about everything. And Tony? Why would he believe Tony??? Phil needs to pay attention. And those people who saw Tony look at his cards? They should have said something. But lying at poker? Tony is right there....I mean, the only time you can lie is when you say you put in chips and you didn't or you say you are not looking at your had when you did or when you say check or raise. Tony is a big mouth and should shut up but the game like all things in America have gotten crazy....and if can not handle a simple game like poker like an adult, you should not be playing. And all the participants should be expected to behave according to a code and be reminded about it before the tournament and warnings and punishments handed out in accordance with infractions. But, let's be honest, viewers and those in charge of the tournaments love the conflicts otherwise they would establish a strict code and met out punishments. .
Phil was going to call anyways... The rant was to try to save face on the bad call. Why or how could you believe a guy on an all-in that says he didn't look at his cards? Poker is one of the few games you lie... You can find plenty examples of Phil lying about his hand... Plenty.
We think Tony said it best "If you want to call the floor go right ahead" AKA you're allowed to deceive people while playing poker, and Hellmuth? He knows this.
Hellmuth is damn near unwatchable for me! While some of his antics are funny, he never makes sense!! Constantly calling his opponent stupid, or dumb, or a bad player when they call him and win the pot... No matter how bad Phil's play was to begin with! It never made sense to me when someone gets mad because they were called and beat, yes, a bad beat when ya got pocket 🚀's sucks ass, but if you are afraid of losing, don't make the bet! And if you do make the bet/call, then don't be surprised when ya inevitably lose a hand or two! I get hardcore second hand embarrassment watching a Phil Hellmuth blow up!! 🤣
That hand against Tony G lives in Hellmuth’s head rent free and collects insurance 😂😂
And pays dividends and drives Phil's therapist wife crazy.
@PokerTVAA i’ve always thought that she can’t be that great of a therapist with a mental trainwreck like him for a husband. 😂🤣
It passes go and wins second prize in a beauty contest.
You know what else is bad etiquette? Calling people an idiot when you lose
Yes cause loosing your temper and calling someone a name is the same thing as angle shooting. 😂

Lying at the poker table. Duh. Pay attention. Bad on Phil for believing him.

"If you have a problem call the floor"... Phil knows what they would say.
Phil (Do As I Say, Not As I Do) Hellmuth. 😂

As Tony G points out it's in fact a WRITTEN RULE. You are DEFINTELY allowed to deceive your opponents and lie to them.
Woah you got there! I'm sorry.. Did you believe me again? 🤣🤣🤣
Tony G did nothing wrong.
He told Tony he allegedly looked, so Tony did the same back lol

Yeah Tony G is MOSTLY just horrible to Phil, but there's definitely some exceptions.
In real life, lying is of course reprehensible, but in poker, lies and deception are part of it. Hellmuth is not playing the first day.
Agreed, this isn't Phil's first rodeo.
