Upgrading The Fuel System On My Kubota RTV 1140CPX

- I had some recent fuel issues that I thought was gelled fuel, but it turns out that may not have been the entire cause. During the process of fixing it, I upgraded the fuel delivery system to something that provides more clean and abundant fuel. I didn't realize that the RTV has an underlying fuel delivery issue that caused hard starting, rough idling on startup, and occasional fuel starvation.

Very well done video. I have the 2023 1100C Kubota. Mine starts instantly all the way down to 30 degrees so far. I have not had any of your issues yet. If I do I will definitely do these mods. Again very detailed and informative video. Thanks! I might do the fuel filter water separator mod anyway. I was a boater for years and all diesels should have a water separator.
Excellent thanks..
Thanks for the feedback!!
Excellent video.....hate to change the fuel filter under the machine. Have a similiar filter and didn't know how to make it work with the 1140....have ordered the fule pump and additional line needed. thank you
Awesome!! Let me know how it turns out. I’m interested to know if you have the same results.
@@JaredsShop Finally got around to installing the fuel pump and filter. Worked like a charm.. However, disabled the manual fuel pump....Removed it and ground down the lever on the pump. Reinstalled.
@@stef985
Sweet! Have you noticed an improvement in starting and initial idling? Drivability?
@@JaredsShop Haven't as of yet...but the fact that it takes the belly filter and moves it to a more accessable location is worth the conversion. Having an additional filter water seperator is a a great feature.
@@stef985
I agree. It’s nice just knowing there is better filtration at an easier to access location. I hated that inline filter hidden by the skid plate.
Nice!
Thanks!!
Great job! I have a Kubota ZD326 and X1140. Always love seeing videos like this. You did a great job explaining the issue and showing your solution!
Thank you! Do either of those have.a separator or do they just have inline filters?
@@JaredsShop The ZD326 just has two inline filters, one before the electric fuel pump and one after. The X1140 is new so I haven't changed it yet but I have read the manual and I believe it is just a fuel filter. It is much larger on the X1140 and looks like the filter on some of the Kubota tractors but no separate purge at the bottom for water.

Ok. Well that’s still better than just a cheap inline. The spin on filters are usually made better.
I have a diesel bobcat 3400 and I believe it’s not getting enough fuel to the engine, I checked the lines and everything is clear. It would start and run fine for about a min then it will lose power/speed and eventually won’t move even though pressing the gas pedal then it would eventually stall until I let it cool down for about 30 min. I even replaced the fuel pump and now it won’t even start, sounds like it wants to but won’t turn over. Any ideas?
Thanks for the excellent video. I am having the same problem with my 1100c. In the video you mention posting a link to the parts you used but I did not see a link. Can you advise which pump and filter you used. Thanks
You bet. I’ll post them here but you can also see them by clicking on the down arrow that is to the right of the video description. So that is above the like/dislike and share button.
I’ve pasted the fuel hose I purchased as well as the hose barbs for the filter. The ones with the filter are too big.

Also, drop back here and let me know when you’ve completed it and let me know what you think.
awesome video - thank you so much
I have an RTV x1100C --- same problem that you were having -- i tried removing (to test) the fuel shut off solenoid -- am waiting on new solenoid (major pia to install since everything is so tight. Am actually thinking my problem is similar to the crap that you were faced with. anycase; thanks
Thanks for the feedback! Good luck and let me know if you end up installing the same pieces.
I couldn't help but notice that your inline filter is backwards. It will plug very prematurely if it is not flowing in the right direction. There should be an embossed arrow on the filter showing direction of flow
It’s not backwards now. It was in the video and I forgot to point it out. Thanks.
Thank you for this video. I have been looking for a solution to the problem for two years. Everything I change the fuel filter at recommendation of dealer but they always appear clean.
You’re welcome and I hope it helps. Let me know if you do the same thing.
@@JaredsShop I applied the modifications just as shown in your video. The only thing I did not do was drop the fuel cell. So far so good. Thanks again.

Glad to hear it bud. Keep me updated. So far mine is still running good and better with this fuel pump.
I took note of your hydraulic plow set up. I have the same thing on my 900 but can not find any info on it. Is it a Kubota accessory or a Curtis? I am presently having the no fuel problem and I am in the process of researching it.
Is it just like mine? If so, it’s a Kubota option.
