  • The Hewitts are a list of the 2000ft peaks in England and Wales which have at least 50 feet of re-ascent on all sides of their summits. I completed the Welsh 2000ft Hweitts in 2006. I am on my second round of bagging them all with a handful left including the two Hewitts on this video Creigiau Gleision and its North top. These two hills are on the eastern edge of the Carneddau mountain range in Snowdonia. I climbed them this time from Capel Curig with great views down the Ogwen Valley. On route i climbed a succession of rocky tops including the wonderful Crimpiau whish is one of the best viewpoints in Snowdonia.

Kim Jong Un 😂😂😂 that cracked me up Andy. Great walk in a part of snowdonia I’ve never heard of! Looked like it’s rarely walked but wow what fantastic views and remote rocky summits- wonderful!
Well done on completing all the Hewitts, that’s a great achievement. How many years did it take, it’s a lot of driving too I can imagine. Enjoyed thanks , best wishes, Adam

@@adamradford2285 😂 I started the Hewitts in 1995 walking the ones in the Beacons but it led me to mid and north wales I followed a book by Graham Uney called the High summits of Wales worth a read about 137 peaks on the list but it’s grown by one or two due to people re surveying the heights of mountains. Anyway I did all the mountains in 2006 it was brilliant the Welsh version of the Munro’s trust me it takes you all over the place In Wales. There is also the nuttals. A further List in a book by John and Anne Nuttall they have done a list of two thousand foot peaks in Wales in their book but these are not so pronounced and don’t have a big reascent hence Corn Du is not a Hewitt but us a Nuttall. Happy hunting. Worth the effort people of North Korea like the Hewitts

@ Thanks Andy that sounds great I’ll definitely check those books out. The Welsh high peaks challenge sounds awesome.
I’ll be a couple more years trying to complete all the OS map hills in the Brecon Beacons park ( as in all the minor ones too) then will look to new adventures. I would like to walk the Welsh 3000’s, I’ve done about half of them so far.. enjoy your trip to North Wales , catch you soon . Adam
