Really enjoyed this. Its nice to be able to clearly follow you train of thought!
Thanks! I appreciate the comment!
Hi.. I think young have photographed a young GOSHAWK and not a young Sparrowhawk.. Check out the baring on the chest?
Agree that’s a juvenile goshawk.
Hi Steve, thanks. It may well be. I've photographed many Goshawks in Africa, but I am not used to seeing them here in Europe. So I tend to tell myself it isn't, because I'm not expecting them! We have far more buzzards and sparrow hawks here. I've just looked at some other shots I've taken and indeed I think it is probably a juvenile goshawk. I will take my Collins with me next time, even though it will add extra weight to my bag :-)
@@JonBryantPhotography You can get iPhone Collins app, its about 15-16€, its juvenile Goshawk. Think you should look for is the vertical stripes on the chest, never on adults Goshawk and both Juv and Ad Sparrowhawk, so its good feature to separate both species.
@@borisbelchevbspb thanks Boris. As I said in my previous comment - I’m not use to seeing goshawk here in Europe. But indeed as many others have pointed out it’s a goshawk. I’ve done much more bird of prey photography in Southern Africa where the goshawks are much more distinctive. I have Collins hardback version but not on my phone. But hey we all make ID mistakes in birding. It’s not the end of the world 👍🏻😃
@@JonBryantPhotography Defo juv Gos, plumage on chest/belly is wrong for a Spawk. Easy mistake for those not sure though size should be a giveaway, male Gos is bigger than Fem Spawk. Other than that, lucky you for having that bird come in, very difficult to get in the UK. Great vid Jon =)
beautiful edited and lovely work on the portfolio man
Thanks Ryan!
Great Shots, Great Video, very inspirational 👍
Thanks Chris!
Dude, it wasn't a sparrowhawk, it was a goshawk! Congrats
oh now i see the comment down below
I was going to say l have never seen a sparrow hawk with legs that thick!
Great video Jon, I could spend hours in that hide!!
That's the idea! :-)
@@JonBryantPhotography Ummm. I'll wait patiently for an invite 😉
Amazing photos dude!
Thanks!
Pourquoi tu n'utilise pas un trépied avec ton " Lumix "? Merci.
what are the settings in your camera menu I only get blurry photos
I work with the G9 and the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmar 100-400mm F4.0-6.3
Hi - thanks for your comment. I recommend that you watch the video again. All the camera settings are listed next to each photo. And in the video I explain the relationship between shutter speed and camera shake to get sharp shots! :-)
It's interesting that in Europe you have these permanent hides set up for photography. Are these on government property open to public or on private ground and fee based?
Private land. Fee based yes, you hire for the day.
I get so confused about ISO. People say you should have it as low as possible how does such a high ISO affect the image?
Hi! Thanks for the comment. If you watch my latest video - I talk about high ISO and the impact it has on the image, as well as how to manage it.
Great vlog love the Reflection pool i love wildlife I’m building a hide watch my RUclips channel keep up the good work mate thanks
Maybe using a flash would be of benefit in this situation.
Not with the window in the hide.
That’s not a Sparrowhawk. It’s a Goshawk!
