I'd argue the point, Dendritica. Entropy can be a very orderly process. Desmond, on the other hand, is pure chaos.
Well, mostly pure chaos . . . . There is a certain predictability to Desmond's antics. It can be expressed as, "If mom looks busy, get in her face. If mom does not look busy, ignore her. If there is any doubt, wander around and threaten to get in her face."
If madness shows up everywhere and Desmond shows up everywhere, then madness is Desmond.

I’ve never felt more related to as a cat owner than with the casual threats to bake and eat your cat for being a menace.
We always threaten our cat Lady that we will take her back to the mean streets of Rockville. Which is where her adoption papers says she was from. XD
We though oh a solid white cat and they named her lady how cute. Went back through he papers about a year after adoption and realized it's not just Lady it was Lady Tremaine. 🤣🤔 It made more sense because they did tell us she wants to be the only pet in the home. Lol
This is canon now: she killed Davis Aurini and took his toy skull.

My "Desmond" is gray and named Victor. I got him when he was abandoned by his mother and he still had to nurse, which meant that I had to feed him with a bottle every three hours around the clock for weeks. He thinks that I am his mom, and he has a tremendous sense of entitlement. I applaud your patience.

Please don't bake Desmond :( Fellow orange boye owner here, they're amazing. Although I don't think mine will get as big as Desmond, he looks really buff. Here it's his calico sister that is usually over me and my stuff, tho, and she's also the purr machine. The orange one only purrs on special occasions.
If you make merch, Zoe, it ought to be Desmond perched on top of your chair filled with a stack of books.
I empathise so much. I'm writing this as a tiny grey floof is attached to my arm and has knocked all my notebooks on the floor *while I was writing in them*. My big grumpy less floof also maos through anything I try recording. x_x

For the first time in my adult life, i have a work/music/office room with a door i can close. It has changed my life.

Honestly at this point, Desmond demanding attention and making noise is just your brand, and it's what I expect when I tune into your videos. Personally, I'd say don't change that about your recording style, let him be a distracting orange chaos ball that amuses us and warms our hearts while you talk about important progressive topics.
This is exactly why I love cats so much, they do those little things that remind you there always there and make you laugh a little

Desmond interrupting you while filming has the exact same energy as my cat (or cats, depending on the day) sitting on my table and swatting my pencil or brush while I write.
Edit: I swear, there are days when all three of them form a circle around whatever paper I’m working on and swat my pencil/ brush one by one.

Oh my. Thank you for this little bit of levity. As a fellow multi-cat owner, I know how it can be when you're trying to work. If you so much as have a hint of wanting to concentrate on something important such as filming a video, the kitty must come along and butt in, figuratively and literally. Maddening, but that's why we love them so, too.

Also, you apparently have enough "unintended" footage that you should consider adding a Bloopers section after the main content to reward viewers who stick around until the end. I'm seeing this more and more from RUclipsrs and the format works pretty well!

Desmond won't stop until he gets his own channel. I think you'd only be depressed by how quickly he'd reach 100k subscribers. I have an older model Desmond (named Sidd) and can tell you they don't get any less insistent or sneezy with age.

RUclipsrs completely underestimate the appeal of random pets intruding. It is literally the most attractive and humorous gimmick that exists. Especially when their constantly appearances and disappearances break continuity. You should all just let it happen. Viewers will love it.
