Kind of similar but not quite related fun fact: Peach has been a better character than Bowser in all four of both character's Smash Bros. appearances. The matchup itself is always in Peach's favor too, due to Bowser's vulnerability to most of her float aerial combos and limited counterplay options against Turnip camping. (Even if Bowser were to steal it, he would get less follow-ups than Peach could.)
I think it might be debatable in smash 4, but yeah, in Melee and Brawl Bowser is terrible, and Peach is decent to very good, while Ultimate Bowser is pretty good and Peach is top tier. That is probably too much fighting game babble

As the years went on, Bowser would begin kidnapping Peach due to both a megalomaniac desire to rule the world, but also because he had fallen in love with her. Due to Mario and Peach's friendship, Mario is always the one to stop Bowser. With every instance, Mario ends up defeating Bowser and saving Peach.
Interesting to note that Super Mario RPG is the first game where we actually see the kidnapping, and Super Mario Sunshine is the first time in a main-line Mario game we see it.

Actually 33 Kidnappings because Mario and Luigi Dream Team, and yeah I know Antasma took Peach but that was because him and Bowser had a deal with each other and you can see Peach locked in a cell at the final boss fight with Bowser after Antasma is defeated

Bowser is probably the most stubborn Nintendo Character. Keeps trying to kidnap the same person to marry despite interests. In boss fights, he ALWAYS keeps the same tactic, no matter how other characters get past it. But that’s just common with bosses now… Won’t try and kidnap the protagonists as well so they can’t do anything. Uses largest weapons exclusively for hurting said kidnapping victim’s property and taking that person. When he does find out how to use the weapons on the protagonists, he only does it *every now and then*.
I’ve been asking a question: How many times Bowser attempted to kidnap someone (or actually did it)? And yes, we’re including the Subspace Emissary. Here’s a little help here: 1. Attempted to kidnap Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, but Donkey pushed Diddy, so he wouldn’t get abducted. 2. Attempted to capture Diddy and Fox McCloud, but Fox ran away and took Diddy to safety with him. 3. Kidnapped Princess Peach/Princess Zelda, in function of which princess Kirby didn’t save. 4. Once again attempted to abduct Diddy and Fox, but this time, Falco Lombardi saw the scene and immediately jumped out from his Arwing to confront Bowser and protect Fox.

Despite Bowser just being a baby, Kamek still pretty much takes orders from him and gets stomped by him whenever he has a tantrum, and in almost every Yoshi's island game,it is Baby Bowser's ideas,not Kamek's. Bowser has HUNDREDS of minions of each species,each of the species who he rules being superhuman and having different magical abilities and powers, and Bowser himself has enough physical strenght to lift and kick a castle,and can go Godzilla sized using his magic, he has also shown using his magic to create a black hole that was seen sucking up small PLANETS in the background of Mario party 9. Didn't Bowser kidnap Peach in Dream Team? Not the first time (that was Antasma) The second time when you try to hide her in Dreamy Driftwood Shores, which I think was offscreen, but when you finally get her to the end, it winds up being Kamek in a Peach Costume. Also, in Superstar Saga, Bowser Kidnapped Peach too after escorting her to Little Fungi Town through Teehee Valley. Okay, that one was technically Bowletta, but Bowser was still involved in that Kidnapping somehow.

@@johnschmitt5942 Bowser is stronger than her (and super smash bros ain't canon,and in super princesse Peach she had lots of outside help) plus,Bowser has weapons and an army,peach's army is pretty weak,in paper jam we see a bunch of toads getting kidnaped by a bunch of Goombas even though there were way more toads than there were Goombas, and in Mario Odyssey we can take a star by possessing a Goomba and walking up to the toad guarding the star: The toad immediately runs away in fear, Toads are not competent fighters. The only toads that have ever shown fighting skills are Toadette,blue Toad,yellow Toad and Captain toad. 4 toads out of an entire SPECIES are able of fighting back...Yeah, it's no wonder that Bowser's army is way superior.

Can we really say that Kamek is in charge? Despite Bowser just being a baby, Kamek still pretty much takes orders from him and gets stomped by him whenever he has a tantrum, and in almost every Yoshi's island game,it is Baby Bowser's ideas,not Kamek's. It was Baby Bowser's idea to steal the happy tree, it was Baby Bowser's idea to turn the Yoshi's into yarn,and I think it was also his idea to steal the sundream stone.

Technically, super Mario bros 2 was a dream but she still wasn’t visibly captured at any point since the only non dream part was the end.

6:07 I don't think the Smash Bros games are canon as its mashes up multiple characters from many franchises even though it wouldn't really make sense like Link for instance I presume the Zelda games happened way before the early 2000s (where I assume the Mario games take place as Luigi talks about an N64 in Paper Mario and I remember someone in TTYD mentioning Fire Emblem which is a GBA game from the early 2000s)

Idea: Mushroom Kingdom should join NATO because I think Bowser kidnapping the leader of a NATO member country would active Article 5 which states that an attack on one NATO member by a non NATO country is considered an attack on all NATO members.

Bowser's army is full of superhumans: a Goomba is strong enough to break a massive rock into pieces with two headbonks,and no,they do not die from Mario jumping on them,that was debunked in many games, and all of Bowser's minions are durable enough to survive the destruction of the Koopa Cruiser and then falling right back in the atmosphere like meteors. They can EASILY anhilate a bunch of human level soldiers, Tanks can be easily countered by the physical strenght of a few Bullies or Giant Goombas, Boos...Do I need to say anything? Magikoopas can make the minions gigantic, and therefore have even more physical strenght,and guns are not gonna kill them either,as Goombas and Koopas have the ability of surviving as skeletons without any organs or blood, chain Chomps and Bullies are made out of metal so guns aren't going to do much, and boos? Yeah. Bowser has HUNDREDS of minions of each species,each of the species who he rules being superhuman and having different magical abilities and powers, and Bowser himself has enough physical strenght to lift and kick a castle,and can go Godzilla sized using his magic, he has also shown using his magic to create a black hole that was seen sucking up small PLANETS in the background of Mario party 9. Yeah, fictional characters are WAAAY more OP than real life human beings.

Didn't Bowser kidnap Peach in Dream Team? Not the first time (that was Antasma) The second time when you try to hide her in Dreamy Driftwood Shores, which I think was offscreen, but when you finally get her to the end, it winds up being Kamek in a Peach Costume.
Also, in Superstar Saga, Bowser Kidnapped Peach too after escorting her to Little Fungi Town through Teehee Valley. Okay, that one was technically Bowletta, but Bowser was still involved in that Kidnapping somehow.
