Your rp videos are so helpful and insightful. You're the only person who talks about what not to do for each race while dispelling some stereotypes as fluff, or explaining how to use the accurate ones in a way that is not too overblown. These videos by far have been the most helpful to me in understanding how to play some of the races. Thank you!
arcanumn Oh, thank you so much!!!! I try to be as insightful as possible and give people options for RPing. A lot of people don't realize how detailed the lore really is and how much they can do with their characters, and this series was designed to help people find other, more interesting ways to RP!
Regarding the naming part of the video. While Jin, yes, is a suffix that is mostly possessed by tribe leaders, it is not limited to them only. Elder or leaders of small groups can be considered a Jin too. Heck, if you skip to 5:38 and look at the part left to the character walking, you'll see two trolls that their name ends with 'Jin. It's just a small tweak to what you said, and to summarize it. The suffix 'Jin is mostly reserved to tribe leaders, but elders or respected members/advisers of the tribe can posses it too.
Yeah in the starting area you constantly run into Jins. Should you keep the meaning of it in mind for your character? Sure. However to say there should only be one troll walking around with that title is a bit off.
PS: as for the ruthlessness, the 3rd volume book that tells the story line in book form reveals that the dark spear trolls are one of the most kind heatred troll tribes and thus an easy target for their much more aggressive bretheren like the other Gurubashi tribes, who had hunted the Dark Spear because of their "softness".
Thanks for making this video! I'm about to jump into troll RP and have been struggling with finding resources, since Blizz has kind of neglected troll history. This was really helpful.
not all the trolls were ruthless the only time they were necessarily mean is when they were fighting for land "mostly from the zandalari tribes" they were actually quite brilliant not just ruthless savages
hi inquisitor, ty for making these videos they're very helpful to me...i'm gonna be moving to a rp server as a troll and need all the info that i can get...see u =) btw hope you make more how to rp vids soon...
Its true that "Jin" is translated with "leader" but not completely reserved for leaders only - at least if you go by the official stories of comics and books. F.e. the comic Warcraft:Bloodsworn has a troll called "Rada'Jin" as one of the main figures but is not a tribal chief. Concering the aging there are trolls that get really old like more then 200 years - king Rastakhan of the Zandalari is such an example. The age depends to a degree on the will of the loa for each individual apparently. Also the healing or better the regeneration ability of each troll depends on his or her loyalty and respect to the loa.
Trolls ❤️ ey bossman still proud Darkspear (and Zandalari on occasion) been realm hopping over the years, and am currently on Argent Dawn but haven’t really joined the RP community...
You kinda forgot that trolls have the interesting naming convention of each syllable of their name has a meaning i.e. it's a deed they have done or part of their status
Trolls being mean, not caring about honor, and distrusting of others is why I will stan the Amani tribe. The Amani deserved better. Zul'jin deserved better.
I dont know you just walked by two trolls who were called Jin?? if you watch from 5:34 you can clearly see that they are called Jin xD Maby it is just any kind of leader
Glad someone else thinks this way. Trolls are universally dark and ruthless and it does annoy me when they're rped as friendly and broad-minded. I play a shatterspear afflock and uh dk(dk as a necromancer not part of the arthas thing ) because as you say they'll do whatever it takes to survive
I'm gonna Sound like a Git for this.. but for this video you Sounded Drunk... Anyway Sorry for that. I'm liking your Vid's and am just getting back into WoW/RP in WoW.

Thank you! I had to do a lot of digging for this and I may go back and redo it now that the Warcraft Chronicles are being released!
Thank you so much for mentioning the Jin suffix being reserved for tribal leaders
Personally best summary of trolls. Thank you and now I can create my troll witch doctor
not all the trolls were ruthless the only time they were necessarily mean is when they were fighting for land "mostly from the zandalari tribes" they were actually quite brilliant not just ruthless savages

OMG I KNOW IM SO EXCITED
Meh - I love my Troll males with a hunch...I'm gonna stay Darkspear...Mon.
Soon we'll have to Fake Being a darkspear. World of straight backs is comming.
I believe the Darkspear will still have an option with the curve...I'm stayin wit it mon!
FMichael1970 of course they will, but everyone will play the zandalari trolls with their straight back.
Just a neutral, travelling Gurubashi warrior.

Throwback
Zandalari trolls announced as an Allied race for new expac! Super excited :)
Was this before they turned Revantusk into the forest troll models?
There's a lot of troll mages in the mage class hall but not many in terms of significant characters in the game, what's your opinion on troll mages?

+Jon (A Questioneer) LOL yeah, I see them, now! Its a pretty common naming trope, I've found!
Well....Now we can play as zandalari trolls....Soooo possibly rp as amani or gurubashi trolls since ya know they're allied and all *shrug*
