- What's up guys today Brandon and I are installing the Mountune quick-shift for the Focus RS replaces the factory shift arm located at the gearbox. Throw is reduced by 25% allowing quick and more precise gear changes. Engineered to OE tolerances and manufactured from hard anodized aluminum and steel. Basically a short throw shifter for the Ford Focus RS without having to change the shifter height in car so it's nice that it can retain it' stock height.

yea literally every big name out there like AMS, ETS, Hennessy Performance ect.... all grabbed one as soon as possible. these are all big name shops known for huge HP!! it's a long ways away but I can deff see some 800+HP RS in the not to far future
+Tyler Hoeve they probably got the rs way before the official release date Just like Toyota did With the gt86, Toyota gave production models before the release to tuners. that's why the gt86 has so much after market
Mountune is a certified Ford aftermarket specialist. Of course they're going to get on this car quick.
Why mess with removing the shift arm when so many Aftermarket companies have bolt ons that do exactly the same thing with much less time. Plus you can adjust it from 20-40% less travel. FSWERKS, Steeda, Boomba make great parts. look those up and save the headache.
I was hoping at the end there would be a driving video with reaction! I have been trying to decide whether to buy one or not, and just that view throwing it inside the cabin is making me think yes! What was the difference like when driving it?
+GeordieUSA I haven't driven it with the new shifter yet. But Brandon said it's shorter and just finds the gear by its self a lot easier. He definitely likes it.

Can the short shifter be installed in 1.6lts Tdci engine 2013 ford focus model? Plz some one advise bcoz I am hearing that only RS and ST models can have this mod.
Is this worth getting over the injen short throw shifter?

+kyle Costa It definitely is quicker and want to just bang into the next gear more positively. Well worth the upgrade.
Interesting how exposed the filter is from factory, could imagine it get's dirty quick that way, cool setup however
The top is actually sealed to the hood when it's closed. The box was engineered to remove restriction and get better flow on the dyno with the hood open.

It's just a part of the design that's also functional, and yes, Ford knows that you'll be replacing filters. This isn't a Hyundai Elantra, it's a performance vehicle, aimed toward enthusiasts, not your grandmother.

Here let me help you. Straight from Ford: "... this includes the way the air intake is sealed at the top by the bonnet, meaning that when the RS is put on a dyno with the bonnet up, the intake opening is much larger - compensating for the missing charge effect you get when the car is in motion, ensuring it breathes properly when revved up but stationary. "

It does... and it is a very, very nice clutch and shifts great but there is always a little room for improvement on most cars...

+Blake's Garage I also decided to take off the Cobb box to see if there's a big difference and oh boy their is. It was 80F outside and going 60MPH the intake temp was 120 with the box it was 96 when it was 87 outside 😶
