  • A wave of new stock market signals were triggered in recent sessions, including a NASDAQ signal that has only been flashed four previous times in the last twenty-two years; what does it say about the stock market's risk/reward profile?

Despite the fact that I invest, I am frustrated by my incapacity to assess each company's performance and determine whether or not this is the best time to buy stocks. Inflation is depleting my monetary reserves. I need reliable market trajectory data at this point, but I'm not sure what to do.

I completely agree, which is why I think it's important to delegate decision-making responsibility to an investment coach. Underperformance is essentially unimaginable given their specialized experience and education, as well as the fact that each of their skills is focused on harnessing risk for its asymmetrical potential and controlling it as a buffer against certain unfavorable events. Working with an investment coach for over two years, I've made over $1.5 million.

I bought a lot of stocks off that 2022 dip, and maybe I was too late after the very quick runup in late 2022, but my stocks look nothing like the supposed new highs you are charting. I want to sell these things off, but for the most part, I would have to take losses. Sometimes very steep losses.

All correlated with FED actions. But do take notice, QQQ was the same in August 2016, as it was at its peak in 2000. It took 16 years to get back to the same level. Factor in inflation over that time and you lost money. SPY was the same from 2000 to 2013. Based on this, the stat that is being presented is meaningless. The 70s was same in regards to markets going sideways for a decade, while inflation ate away at real gains.

Great video as always! Burning question of the week: You've convinced me - I'm not worried about recession, inflation, or the Fed. I worry about equity valuations and sector rotation. What's the criteria for determining when valuations have gotten so high they can no longer be ignored even in secular bull trend? Whats the criteria for determining when it's time to rotate into a more cyclical portfolio? Thanks very much?

The problem with these stats is that they all happened in the past 40 years with a constant tailwind of declining interest rates. We appear to be in the early stages of a structural upshift in interest rates. So, what was a tailwind for 40 years may be a headwind moving forward. There's lots of reason to expect yields to tick up in the years ahead, alot of it geopolitical at its roots.
