You failed to mention the use of the cravat by our brave 'boys in blue' during aerial combat. However, this was no fashion statement but for purely practical reasons. When swivelling their heads to look out for bandits in their 6 o'clock they would quickly chafe their necks on the coarse collars of their uniforms. So they took to wearing silk cravats which gave the necessary protection , as well as looking dashing of course,
These are great! Fun and informative, enough so that I'll let pass the joke about the Scots in the last installment. I hope many more are to come.
Cinematic experience and learning! 10/10🙌
Great bite sized video packed with information and humor. Thank you.
I bought a cravat with my pocket money when I was 10 in 1970. Always been odd. Love the video.
This was a really great video, i loved watching this! :D
Oh wow, my wife and I have just found this RUclips channel and we absolutely love it! Very different to all the other stuffy men's fashion channels.
In my opinion, an ascot is more comfortable, Distinguished, and Elegant than a plain old ordinary necktie.
Is ok to wear a cravat in the business casual work place?
yes business casual indicates that any kind of tie is probably optional
Wonderfully informative and amusing clip! The best part? It led me to investigate the term "macaroni" when used in context with "dandy" - leading me to solve the meaning of baffling line "stuck a feather in his cap and called it macaroni."
Thanks AI!
Prompt: "what's a dandy and a macaroni?" (fyi, I knew what a dandy was)
Response: A dandy and a macaroni are both terms used to describe men who are known for their fashionable appearance:
Dandy
A term that originated in Scottish song in the late 1700s and is used to describe a man who pays excessive attention to his appearance. Some say the word is short for the 17th-century term "jack-a-dandy", which was used to describe a conceited man.
Macaroni
A term that originated in the 1760s to describe members of the Macaroni Club, a group of young English men who were known for their style and manners. The term came to be used as a social stereotype to describe a fashion victim or fop. Macaronis were known for wearing tall powdered wigs, colorful stockings, and shoes with large buckles. They also wore a large nosegay of flowers and a small tricorne hat.
The song "Yankee Doodle Dandy" refers to the Macaroni craze and includes the line "stuck a feather in his cap and called it macaroni". The song was originally written by the British during the French and Indian Wars to make fun of the American colonists. The Americans later adopted the song as a song of defiance during the Revolutionary War.
This channel is highly undervalued, easily a 150k+ channel. Well done!
I can wear a cravat in the summer when i want class but don't want a tie but after tying them, they often slip down inside my shirt
Hi, your videos are awesome!! keep doing it:)
I’ve been looking for a different style now I’m in my fifties, something suave and sophisticated that detracts from my triple chins. This might well be it. A Cravat is on its way.

Nice buff tops in the background.
My dad used to wear a Cravat on occasions. I thought it was an English thing. So dapper. 🇬🇧
