No Spurs fans should want Arsenal to win the league but Ange is right. When you watch any of his recent press conferences you can see how little he cares about petty fan nonsense. I truly believe that we need to move past giving a crap about the Gooners or any other team for that matter. The most important thing for all fans of a club should be the club you support. If we want to win the league or cups in the future we need to have a better mindset when it comes to games. No opposition should be scary or be "difficult" we should only care about Spurs and winning the next game. If we win games we win prizes. Simple as that IMO.

I’m a Spurs fan since the mid 80’s and I’ve never wanted Spurs to lose. Obviously I hate Arsenal but I think it is sadly small minded for us to give a sh1t about the Arsenal implications of us winning this game. We need to focus on ourselves and stop caring about them. Watching our fans seriously talk about losing to City demonstrates the pathetic loser's mentality amongst our fanbase. We had the opportunity to take 6 points off Arsenal, we took only 1. 5 less points would have City as champions.

If we do the right work, and Ange gets things right, including the players he wants, and improves certain tactical things, in a few years we could be challenging for the title - we know Ange wants that...
Unpopular opinion - but! if Arsenal win the title, they deserve it! Arteta had a lot of stick at the start, and now look at where they are. Ange and Tottenham are going through something similar. Let's not be bitter, let's build a winning club and a winning mentality. Tomorrow, I'm all for Tottenham going for the win. Ironically, I'd be super surprised if we do!! Aha. One Love

Some fans are crazy. Tribalism is ok. There are some teams we love to hate. All good, but they need to consider, what it would do to the team if the players find out that they throw certain games based on what the fans want. They might not show up for Man City next season as well. Also if you miss out on Champions League when you had a chance, it is not a guaranteed that you will get it next year or the year after, look at Arsenal. The final point is, every game that Tottenham has won so far has help Arsenal. If you want to stop Arsenal from competing, lose every game except when you play Arsenal. Arsenal still has to go out and win against Everton. It is not up to Tottenham if they win.

Ange did not care about winning the Newcastle game. He did not care about the Chelsea game. And then he did not even care about winning the Arsenal game. The issues with high line and set pieces were so obvious and he did not care to fix them. He said he had other priorities aka his way of playing (he did change something for the Liverpool game - see below). And then suddenly he is so gung-ho about winning this game so much so that he denigrated the Tottenham supporters. It is all bs. We are not asking him to throw the game away. We have almost nothing to gain from this game. Why not put in some of the young players for the future? He could change the whole line-up against Fulham in the name of seeing the players outside of the starting 11 in the Carabao cup. But he's not willing to change up the team against City. I definitely think either he's an Arsenal supporter or he uses this game (and Liverpool game) as interview for the other teams' Manager role. Ange is all about himself. When a journal asked about our 2 defensive players scored in the Liverpool game, he said it is part of his team revolution as if it is all planned taking credits for his players' effort. When the team performed poorly, it's because the players not fully into his system - blaming the players. Come on. We know you have this one good trick and you don't have to keep bragging that one trick you have. How about do something for the team - let us take a look at the home grown young players? I thought you claimed to be a young player friendly manager. It is the right time to do it. Prove me wrong.

Few months ago there was conversation about spurs having a say in the title race and i commented saying spurs will not beat the top 3 because they are not on that level. I dont think its about spurs having a choice in deciding the game ,its more about how many city can score. That is the reality. Its ok to make it seem like spurs have a say in the title but in reality they never did and never will.
Most importantly spurs are not guaranteed top 4 next season either.

I’ll be honest. I want us to win. Not because I want Arsenal to win the league, but I do not want to disregard and disrespect the hard work some players give during training and on the pitch. Wanting us to lose? It’s like an insult to their hard work. And here’s another reason, I’ve seen hypocrites who want Ange out but want us to lose this particular match, what’s your point?
I honestly wanted to strangle Havertz when he said those words, but if I was Vicario, Romero, Son, or van de Ven, I would only be focused on winning the game to have a fraction of a chance to win the 4th place spot.

There is a reason Man Utd fans sing "20 times, 20 times Man United" even though they have 13 Premier Leagues and 7 First Division Titles. But all the same category of trophy same way the Fair Cup, UEFA Cup and Europa League are one, or the Champions League and European Cup are one.

Why is everyone on Spurs back to put in a performance and get a result against City? West Ham are best placed to upset City with their team and tactics. Why aint Rice calling in favours there? Dont get me wrong, I would just play to win. Why? Firstly, Spurs fans need to understand that we can lose to City and Arsenal still win the league because the hammers get a draw on the final day. How would we feel then? especially if Villa lose to Palace and we throw away points against City and Arsenal win the league anyway? Secondly, if we try to win, based on how we have tried to win lately, we will definately lose. COY?S

It’s quite simple - Spurs fans don’t want to lose, but don’t want to draw or win either. What’s not to understand, but to defy the logic of the game? The reality is that this is a full strength Man City side - and to drop 4 to 5 points against this inconsistent Spurs team, would suggest Arsenal have the edge, if we were to ever use Spurs as a league title credentials barometer. Enjoy the game - no one is thinking how spurs took points off City at their ground as helping Arsenal win the title. This is a nonsense over the course of the season. Likewise, if Liverpool were closer with the game earlier in the season. No Spurs fans were hoping for a replay so they could win. This is no different and part of the season. Broader message…Forget the actual timing of it guys.

2:52 - If we want to banter that's fine, but if we want to be factual, let's get it right and do some research. Arsenal won the Fairs Cup (Now Europa League and Yes you heard that right) in 1970 and that year, there was Liverpool, Inter, Napoli, Juventus, Sporting Ajax and other teams in the tournament.
The Europa League used to be the UEFA Cup which used to be the Fairs Cup. Same Way the Champions League used to be European Cup, Same way the Premier League used to be the English 1st Division League. So are we going to ignore all the European Cups won by Madrid since the name/format was changed? Or the League Titles won by Liverpool because the trophy and name was changed?
So factually (without banter) Arsenal has 13 League Titles (Including English first division title), 14 FA Cups, 1 Fairs Cup (now Europa League) and 1 Cup Winners Cup.

Ange is in a tricky situation. Of course the fans want to throw the game to prevent Arsenal winning the league but the problem is that Ange is trying to build a winning mentality and change in culture long term. If Ange sanctions throwing games, then subconsciously, he is killing the mentality of the dressing room because accountability is no longer absolute in every game. It's conditional/relative. That's incredibly destructive long term because it gives players the licence to not try at every given moment. Are they going to slacken off every time they play City from now on if Arsenal are neck and neck with City in the years to come? Also, it damages the image of the club in the eyes of potential transfer targets in the coming windows? They don't care about Arsenal but what they would see is a club more motivated by hatred and spite than ambition, i.e., merely even trying to get CL football.. When push comes to shove, are players looking at Spurs thinking to themselves do I really want to join a club where is this going to be the position of Spurs? Just not even try to progress certain seasons b/c it might help Arsenal indirectly? Players have very short careers. If they are lucky, they have 10 yrs at the top level and they aren't going to want to piss away a year and waste 10% of a career b/c of a rivalry they know nothing about. Spurs needs to be more than just anti Arsenal.

    • @Narodov1
      @Narodov1 14 дней назад

To play devils advocate, if they throw the game, how does that diminish the winning mentality that Ange is trying to instill? Players purposely tank the game and all of a sudden, because of that one game, they will never have that winning mentality absolutely? How about that 4 game losses? DId that do anything to the mentality? Its all bollocks. Believe me, if Mourinho and Conte couldnt change that dross of a dressing room, no one can.

There's still a chance that we can qualify for Champions League based on the fact Villa are likely going to be investigated for breaches of PL Financial Profit and Sustainability rules which *could* mean that they wouldn't be allowed to compete in the Champions League...I can envisage a world where we beat Man City and then on the final day of the season Arsenal lose to Everton in their final game, Villa get done by financial fair-play rules meaning we take their spot in the CL next year and Man City win the league by beating West Ham. I would hate it if we gave Arsenal the title but at the end of the day I don't really listen to anything Arsenal fans have to say any more anyway...these are the same idiots don't forget who threw away a league title they had spent 95% of the season in first place. They're counting their chickens before they've hatched again if they think they're going to walk over Everton - mark my words, this could be an even more amusing end to the season than last year when the Gooners threw away the title and became the de-facto bottlejobs and the team to spend the longest time any club has been in first place throughout the course of the season and yet still failed to win the league!
I'd laugh like a drain for the entire summer if we beat City but Arsenal still fail to win the league on the final day 😆

We can literally still qualify for Champions League if we win both our remaining games and things go wrong for Villa...even then there's a chance Villa, even if they finish above us, won't be allowed to compete in the CL because of their breach of FFP profitability rules - the same thing happened to Juventus recently and they were denied their European competition place because they had broken FFP rules in the same way that Villa have done this year. Villa have posted figures of nearly £120m debt for this season, there's a good chance even if they finish above us that they won't be allowed to compete in Europe.
We should be thinking about beating City and then watching Arsenal fail to beat Everton on the last day of the season whilst Man City put West Ham to the sword at the Etihad...this is probably the most likely scenario anyway, and it'll be absolutely hilarious if Arsenal lose the league that way.
