Ah yes the Messer, for when you want to have a sword infused with warp fuckery that rips a hole in space and time to get behind parrys and accel at the speed of light. Almost like a Katana
Training sword is an excellent backup weapon for longbowmen. It has a great stamina game, so you can either keep the enemies busy enough till help arrives or disarm them. All for the price of one point.
Getting multi-kills with the zweihander is always satisfying. One time I had a full 30 second of uninterupted flesh tearing on Taiga and it felt as if I was a God
The Messer is the embodiment of the haha swoosh meme, it's fast and easy to use, and for some reason does more slash damage than the GS and LS but with a alright stab but hey no weapon is perfect, (unless you're the Eveningstar). It's stupid, very stupid, I'd argue you're better with it when you let the swoosh consume your mind and let it do the work for you. It's also very mean to use against newer players because they'll freak out at every haha swoosh you do. In the end, the messer is my favorite fillet knife and I love it greatly.

You missed the stereotypical dodge Zweihander, the guy that’ll go up to you and then back off as you swing. This guy is me, I play Zweihander this way, but I’ve noticed a couple people do it. Works well for me.
@@KingKongBunde Perks video would be very helpful. Sometimes I get confused with the perks, attributing my success in a game to a perk and not me doing well, so it'd be good to understand what's useful for what purpose
A really easy way to catch anyone with shorter range weapon is to bait them with a swing, step back (wait for them to take the bait and attack) then rush back in with a combo swing. Sure, you might waste stamina if they don't take the bait, but most often they do. Also if they don't take it you can just feint cancel the combo and try fishing them again later.
If there's one thing I've seen that bastard sword players tend to do, its chamber feints. and a lot of stabs. Enemy swinging at you? chamber feint and stab Enemy stabbing you? chamber feint, swing stab morph Starting a fight? body feint a swing and stab to the face Idk what its like on the US servers, but here on the EU side of things, that is pretty much how they all are. Side note: I think the only time I ever see people use the bastard sword in its two handed grip is on duel servers, when two bastard sword users just spontaneously decide to fight each other using the two handed grip Messer players seem more divided to me. On one hand are the ultra sweatlords who know how to abuse the fuck out of the already janky animations and weapon model by doing either acceleration after acceleration into your head, or just chaining underhand after underhand while looking pretty much vertically. The other lot are newer players who've just got their asses clapped by the aforementioned sweatlords, and are giving it a go to see how they got absolutely destroyed earlier on.
